2021 (New beginning)

After the holiday season, everything goes back to new normal. Employees will go back to work, students will go back to studies, teachers will go back to teaching, and people will face the COVID-19 pandemic with it's new found strain.

Employees with work from home set up are somehow a lot safer and more convenient than the employees who has to work onsite. It's nostalgic to miss the good old days when people can have skinship, no restrictions and no lockdown protocols. The doctors, nurses and other frontliners can always go home and spend some time with their families.

This 2021 people must take the COVID-19 pandemic more seriously than they did last year. People must do what the government says in order to stop it form spreading further as it continuously mutate. Travel bans and travel restrictions are now being implemented for the people to be more aware and so that each county will be given some time to recuperate from the loss in the economy last 2020. Not all countries can be able to stand again after being hit by the pandemic once. The fund of the government can't sustain a new wave of COVID-19.

The different ways on how to beat and prevent COVID-19 has been repeated in different social media platforms and even with people constantly reminding others to do so. The problem is not with the implementation but with the mindset of people. There are people who thinks that it's a hassle to wear face mask and face shield. Gatherings can't still be contained.

People went to different tourist attractions in order to unwind but the health protocols weren't implemented well. People just don't take it seriously.

The lack of discipline causes this pandemic to lengthen. There's a vaccine but it's not guaranteed that those people who were vaccinated are completely free from the virus. There was a news flashed on tv where a doctor who just received a COVID-19 vaccine was infected by the virus just a week after receiving it. There is no guarantee for safety even with the vaccine not unless the virus is completely gone, but with its continuous mutation, it's still not possible as of the moment.

Vaccines were done less than a year and the virus is still mutating. The best thing to do is to take the virus seriously.

COVID-19 is not a joke. This pandemic is enough proof of that. Economy of different countries are affected. Many lives was lost in this fight. Many people became jobless. People has to live in new normal. There is no safety anywhere.

If people will start being more responsible than to go and make petitions for not wearing face mask, things would have been a lot different.

If people will only consider the Frontliners who are way too exhausted in fighting this virus then things would have been a lot different.

If people will start thinking of others than thinking of their own interests things would have been better.

Protocols are given in order to protect. It's not supposed to make you feel less free. The decision is always yours to make. Please choose to do what is right.

Be educated of the right things to do. After being educated about it, start educating others as well. Do not just be a bystander or an expectator.

The rules and things to do are way too simple. It's not something that people must be arguing about. It's not something that people has to put the blame on the government. It's not something that people has to criticize the government for. The government has done enough.

Don't feel too secured knowing that there is vaccine for the virus. Most of the vaccines are under clinical trials. It's efficacy is not yet proven to be enough in order to beat the virus. It's doesn't guarantee that it can keep people safe from the virus. Do not be too at ease.

Hospitals has been crowded with COVID-19 patients. Do not add up to it's increasing number everyday.

If you want 2021 to not be the repetition of 2020, then you must do your part.

Follow the protocols.

  1. Wear facemask and face shield.

  2. Sanitize your hands. (Alcohol and hand washing with soap.)

  3. Physical distancing is a must. (Distance but not disconnected.)

  4. Stay at home. (Go out just when it's necessary.)

  5. Disinfect your home, shoes and workplace. (Shower before going to bed.)

  6. Keep yourself healthy. (Drink vitamins, exercise, and have enough rest.)

  7. Stay connected to people. (Call, text, video call, chat and check on the people you love.)

  8. When riding public transportation have a safe distance from others.

2021 symbolizes new beginning. That new beginning is impossible without your help and cooperation. We all want to go back to normal but it can't be done with just a few people. It must be done by everyone. You see, this isn't as difficult as it seems. It might have been uncomfortable but it's a life-saving habit.

The government has done it's part.

How about you? Have you done your part? Are you doing your part?

If not, then start doing your part.
