Have you heard Pi mining , all you have to do is register, and mine. The best thing here even your not online it keeps mining. You need to reset mining every 24hours .

Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis

Head of Technology

Stanford PhD and instructor of Stanfordā€™s first decentralized applications class; combining distributed systems and human computer interaction to bring cryptocurrency to everyday people.

I have been a technologist all my life, which led me to do a Ph.D. at Stanford University and to continue to become a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Computer Science department there. As part of my postdoc, I introduced and taught CS359B, the Decentralized Applications on Blockchain class, in Stanfordā€™s Computer Science department. Thatā€™s where I encountered firsthand the difficulty of getting the technological advances of blockchain into the hands of everyday people. I believe today technology can empower people more than ever.

As a young undergraduate, I designed and built a novel computer motherboard from scratch in the lab. In my early PhD work, I created a framework for writing ā€œsmart contractsā€ on fault tolerant distributed systems, before blockchain and Ethereum came to exist, and published it as my MS thesis. I also created an online games platform, Gameyola, where millions of people entertained themselves for a collective of over 2,000 man years; for my later PhD work, I tried to restore those man years by writing a crowd-powered email assistant that saved people time when processing their emails and tasks. Also, I was the founding CTO at StartX, a non-profit startup accelerator for Stanford students that has helped over 2000 entrepreneurs.

I am a strong and long term believer of the technical, financial and social potential of cryptocurrencies, but frustrated by their current limitations. I am committed to bringing the power of blockchain to more people by improving the current experience and building value for everyone. Iā€™m doing this by employing a user-centric design philosophy that turns the development process of new blockchains upside down: Launch in Beta; invite members to the network; iterate the protocol together with the members; decentralize the resulting design.

The result is currently available as the Pi Network, a new cryptocurrency and peer-to-peer network, which is currently operational in 150+ countries and 32 languages. Pi Network is 100% my professional commitment, while my loving wife and son take up 100% of my personal commitment.

What is Pi?

Pi is a new cryptocurrency for and by everyday people that you can ā€œmineā€ (or earn) from your phone.

Is this real? Is Pi a scam?

Pi is not a scam. It is a genuine effort by a team of Stanford graduates to give everyday people greater access to cryptocurrency.Ā

How does this app work? How do I earn more Pi?

This app allows you to earn Pi by making simple contributions to Piā€™s community. The more you contribute, the more Pi you earn.Ā

Do I need to leave the app open to mine? Does the app drain my battery or data?

You do not need to leave the app open to mine. Pi does not affect your phoneā€™s performance, drain your battery, or use your network data. Once you hit the lightning button, you can even close the app and you will continue to mine Pi.Ā

Why do earlier members mine at a higher rate?

Earlier members mine at a higher rate to reward contributions to the network when they are most needed.Ā

What is the Ambassador role? How does the earning team work?

As an Ambassador, you earn up to a 25% bonus on your base mining rate for each person you invite to the network.Ā

What is the Contributor role? How do I become a contributor?

Becoming a Contributor allows you to earn more Pi by building a security circle of 3-5 trusted members.Ā

What are security circles?

Security circles are groups of 3-5 trusted people built by each of Piā€™s members. Security circles secure the currency by building a global trust graph that prevents bad actors from executing fraudulent transactions.

What is the value of Pi?

Today Pi is worth approximately 0 dollars / euro etc. similar to Bitcoin in 2008. Piā€™s value will be backed by the time, attention, goods, and services offered by other members of the network.Ā

Can I withdraw my Pi? What is the timeline for withdrawals?

No, you cannot withdraw Pi yet. You will be able to withdraw Pi or exchange Pi for other currencies in Phase 3 of the project when Pi transitions to a fully decentralized blockchain.Ā

When will Pi be worth something? When can I turn Pi into ā€œrealā€ money?

Piā€™s holders will be able to turn Pi into ā€œrealā€ money when they either purchase goods and services on Piā€™s marketplace or exchange Pi for fiat currency.Ā

Can I mine from more than one device? How does the network prevent fake accounts, bots, etc. from earning Pi?

No, you cannot mine from more than one device. The network has a strict rule of one account per person. Pi uses a multi-pronged strategy to ensure Pi is not mined by fake accounts.Ā

Is this app a wallet? Will we hold our own private / public keys? And can we use an external wallet to hold our Pi in the future?

Yes, your phones will serve as a cryptocurrency wallet that will be linked to your current accounts (number / Facebook).Ā
