Use of Different Sketching Materials *Sketching is a form of art appreciation and self development. It can be your hobby, no need to be a perfect artist just to relax and feel free to draw what you want. If you finally enjoy sketching you probably want to try some tools to improve your piece. So for today, I would like to share those common materials in a Sketching Set.* Pencil Both pencil and ballpen are the basic tools for sketching, but as a newbie or an artist who wants to create a beautiful artwork then we prefer to use pencil. There are two kinds of pencil use for sketching; Graphite Pencil With graphite powder, artists can produce beautiful effects. Aside from this is commonly use by artists as it consist different shades, this is also easy to erase while giving a dark pigment. Just like what I bought online, a set of graphite pencils, 12 shades from B-5H; B is my favorite shade btw. Charcoal Pencil There are two types of charcoal pencil; with wood and woodless. I first bought a woodless but since its texture is like a glass then all of it broke into halves. So I recommend to avoid woodless especially when you order online. Charcoal is more darker, so after you make an outline using graphite you can darken it using charcoal. But if you want to use charcoal only, then no need to wood because you can buy soft, medium and hard shade of it. Eraser Vinyl Eraser This kind of eraser is usually rectangular in shape and white color, we can have rubber eraser for sketching but what's good about vinyl eraser is that it can completely erase the writings and leave your paper clean and smooth. If you bought a high quality vinyl eraser then you can use it too to erase ink. Kneaded Eraser It is like a clay that you can mold into shapes and figures, so that's mean that this is the best eraser to use in erasing fine details and create highlights. It is soft that you can easily erase pencil marks in your painting or a piece using markers without destroying your output. For more info, you can check this video; https://youtu.be/LwPj4n_Erk0 Paper Blending Stump Is used for blending. Before, when I'm starting this hobby of sketching, I only use my fingertips to blend. Using fingertips helps me to control, blend the pencil well and make a smooth texture. It's okay when I'm just blending a minimal subject, but if not, it always gives me a rough and hot feeling in my fingertips because of too much rubbing(friction). But thanks to this paper blending stump that I can perfectly blend my piece without damaging my skin. This is just an example on how to blend using paper blending stump; all you need to do in to shade the area which you want to have a more darker side(upper-left photo), and blend it to area where you want to have a light shade(upper-right photo). And chada! You have the result. Sand Paper Block This is the partner of paper blending stump(pbs) or pencil, and can be used in three ways; **First**, used as a sharpener or cleaner of pbs. Just rub/scratch the dirty area of your pbs to the sand paper block, and it will make your pbs new and ready to blend again. **Second**, used for making a sand texture. Using your pencil, you can scratch it in sand paper block and because of it's rough texture, it easily powderize your pencil tip and produce sandy texture. **Third**, used as an optional sharpener. Just like sharpening blade use to sharpen a knife, you can do the same process with this sand paper block and pencil. Other Materials; **Sharpener** - used to sharpen materials especially pencil. **Cutter** - used to cut paper or an optional sharpener **Ruler** - used to align or make measurements **Sketch pad** - a paper medium used for sketching, painting, drawing, calligraphy, etc. **Pencil Extender** - use to connect your small pencil and make its handle long. *Sketching is one of my stress reliever, but also a stress provider everytime I end up nothing to draw. Start to Take Away Negativity *It's been a month the last time I publish an article in here, and I'm so happy that I am finally back, just became so busy in my personal life. If there's an update or what, I will be glad to know it from you; and without further I do let's go to my main topic which are the* ***Four Cancers to Avoid*** *from* ***10 Positive Thoughts For The Day To Share*** *by* ***Daisydoll****.* Complaining The more we complain, the more negativity is ingrained in our minds. It is acceptable to express your dissatisfaction in a way that it shows your wants to put things right, but to let your annoyance control is bad for your mental health because it trains your mind to focus on failure rather than hope and on the idea that "everything happens for a reason." Have you been in a situation where you are complaining about something why its happening, then later on you have realized that it's a blessings in disguise? Why not to turn those complain into, *"It's okay, because I know something better will happen".* Gossiping *"Tsimis"*, like in the Philippines it is commonly known as being *"Marites".* Talking behind other people's back is just a proof of insecurity, some will give an excuse saying, *"No it's not bad, we are just saying the truth".* But that truth make you happy? I was working in our Barangay months ago, and I have this co-worker saying that their family are surrounded with people who loves to gossip about their life status. All they can gain are negative and false information, but they prefer not to say anything as they don't want to create argument, so they prefer to go to work early in the morning and go back late afternoon, that at least to lessen the negative words that they can hear from their neighbors. Just imagine, how it makes them living in an unhealthy environment, it's breaking other people's dignity, it's showing gossiper's real identity. Doubting I've had those moments where I question everything. I don't want to try, I don't want to believe, and I don't want to seize another opportunity because I question whether bad things will possibly happen again. But then I realized that having doubts is a barrier to success. You're already imagining a negative result for a situation you haven't even tried. You're already creating unfavorable comments about something that is within your power. making up a circumstance that doesn't exist that causes you to fail without trying. Fearing Fear is a kind of self-defence if it protects us from danger, but if fear leads us to lose self confidence then it's a warning for us to face that fear. In most cases, fear is like doubting that control us to imagine things that doesn't exist, it les in our head that soon to control our personality. These are just few negative traits in our mind that most people have. It is not that easy to control our thoughts and to set it 'Always positive button', but we must remember that we are the main unit of our whole being, it's in our hand to have a self-discipline, maybe you're surrounded with people, negative environment, but do your best not to go with the flow. Be strong and courageous to face life of ups and down, because at the end you only have yourself. Not you as a person who likes to complain and gossip, or a someone with full of doubts and fear, but a person of knowledge and wisdom. Narcissism: I Am Better Than Anyone ***Narcissism*** *is extreme self-involvement to the degree that it makes a person ignore the needs of those around them.* *-* ***WebMD Editorial Contributors*** I first encountered the word *"Narcissism"*, during my high school days when my classmates talk about something, I just ignore it because the term is not familiar and there's no root word which I can relate to something. Not until, I reached college and fully understand what does it mean. In Greek Mythology, there's this man named Narcissus. He is the son of Cephissus the god of river and nymph Liriope. Narcissus is a handsome and attractive man why most ladies fall in love. One day, Narcissus was hunting in the woods when Echo, a nymph, followed him. When Narcissus noticed someone is following him, Echo show up herself and suppose to hug Narcissus, but he pushed her. Echo became broken hearted and walked away. She enter in a cave, crying in pain until she slowly fade. No one see her again but only the voice of Echo remains. Another one, Ameinias, who fell in love with Narcissus but end up being rejected too. Before Ameinias die, he asked Nemesis, the goddess of revenge to punish Narcissus, to be hurt in the matter of what love is. Nemesis heard Ameinias, and because of what happened to Echo and to other ladies she decided to punished Narcissus. She led him into a crystal clear pool, Narcissus bend down to drink water. He saw his reflection and fall inlove with himself. Day and night through moon's reflection, Narcissus keeps on staring on his own reflection in the water. She was deeply inlove that one day he attempt to kiss the man in water, but when he reached it fades, when it back again he attempt to hug, but the man disappeared. Narcissus never drink or eat and just spend the rest of his days staring on the water. Days passed by, nymphs went to the river but didn't saw Narcissus, only the new kind of flower in the side of the river. It was bend like it's looking on it's own reflection. At last, they called this flower, Narcissus. The Story of Narcissus and Echo is one of my favorite story in Greek mythology, although the ending is not for happily ever after, but it gives us moral lesson. Finally we have now the term "Narcissism" from the Greek story of Narcissus Two Types of Narcissism Grandiose Narcissism This is the most common type. People who loves to be in the spotlight, dominant among others and attention seekers. They are thinking that they are great and deserves to be recognized as always. You can mostly see them in social media, or for example in celebrities and politicians. Vulnerable Narcissism This is a kind of an introvert version of Narcissism. They don't show up themselves, volunteering that they are the best but they are hiding it in their thoughts. For example, in a competition, VN Person will lose and shows that it's okay, but deep inside he is thinking that he is better than the winner and that he don't deserve the second spot. Maybe you have heard about **Narcissistic Personality Disorder**, a mental disorder with excessive admiration of his/herself; but remember you cannot say a person having this disorder just based on your own observation but need a profesional consultation. If you encountered someone with this personality, although you want to punch him being too selfish and proud, better to talk to that person one on one. How Are You, Really? *One of my favorite thing to do during my leisure time is to look for more interesting things that can help me in* ***Pinterest****. For those who are not familiar with* ***Pinterest****, then this is an app in which you can see the photos and videos of many subjects; if you want educational, cooking recipe, memes, guide for art and more. But then one that catch my attention while scrolling earlier is a photo asking, "How are you, really?"* *As I've read "How are you", I immediately said "I'm fine", but when the question "really?" added, I pause for a moment asking, "wait? Am I really okay or just it's the easiest answer I can say?"* It's been so long the last time I ask myself, although I know how important self-care and self-reflection is. But have you asked yourself is you're really okay? In physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual? It is true that it's easy for us to say *"I'm okay"*, than saying what we really feel, and to be honest it's rear to have someone who will care on how we are. Just recently when I've watched a video in Tiktok about a mother who is crying while sharing what happened to her son. That according to her, she so busy at work that she don't give enough time to ask if her son is okay, she just let her son use mobile phone, for the reason that it's pandemic and he only need to stay at home. Not until now, that she observed that her son cannot see clearly, they went to the doctor and discover that her son in now having problem with his eye sight. Good thing that she consult the doctor early, because there's a big tendency for the child to be blind. In this case, we can see that the main problem is the child's habit of using phone too much, but if we look deeper, the child won't be in this situation if the parents give him a quality time, asking what he wants, asking if he is still okay. I know that the mother loves her son so much, I can feel that she felf guilty and sad about what happened, but to give a reminders for all the parents to ask your kids if they are really fine. *Asking "How are you?" is the same as "Are you okay?"* Have you tried that no matter how hardly you hide the sadness, still it comes out? Just like my bestfriend, we are having fun, but I know to myself that she's not fully okay as her boyfriend broke up with her, but I never ask how's her condition because we are surrounded with our other friends, and she's not yet comfortable to share the status of her relationship. But in just for a moment, when one of my friend, notice that there's something wrong with her, he immediately hold her hand and ask *"Are you okay?",* after hearing those words, she immediately cry so hard, that we don't know how to make her stop. As I've said, it's rear to find someone who will ask our condition. Same as those who are experiencing anxiety or depression. There are two types of faces that you can see, the one who's problem can be seen in her face, and the one who look happy and fun but hiding the pain inside. In most cases, those who looks happy end up negatively, because no one sees the real feelings and situation that they are fighting for. What we need to do is to embrace how valuable and uniquely beautiful we are. In reality, the only person who care and always be there is just yourself. Better to make a pause and ask yourself; Am I really okay? Help yourself to be the better version of your being. Listen to yourself as you cannot lie to yourself. If you're not fully okay then help yourself to be fine, no matter how we try our best to make everything around us fine, if we to ourself is not, then everything will turns out negatively, still. One Shape With Different Colors *Have you seen different people having some debate just to prove that they are the true church? Or have you been experienced it on your own to have some argument with your friend, classmate, family member or co-worker/s just because both of you have different beliefs in terms of religion?* *But first let me tell you that this article is intended for sharing my personal experiences, and my very own point of view of the said topic.* When I was in primary, I only know 3 religions and one of these 3 is my own religion which is Roman Catholic. Everything was fine, I was an active member of the church, added that my whole family even relatives are also the same. I guess I was already in secondary when I slowly encountered different religions, since I've heard different names of the churches then I asked my mom on how many church are there in the world, as I remember she said *"thousand plus"*, and I was so shocked by her answer. I'm a student who don't like argument, that I prefer to shut up my mouth than proving what's my point. But then, I have these classmates who loves to debate about their religion. It was like I was sitting in the center, and my two classmates arguing in my left and right. The very common line that they have is, *"In what page, book, chapter, verse... it can be seen in the bible?",* which make me think that if you want to defend your church you need to memorize what's written in the bible words for words, the more you memorize more verses the more godly you are. Although I am an active member of the church, and memorize all the stories in the bible but I am not that smart like how my other classmates can memorize hundred of verses. I was grade 3 when I attend Daily Vacation Bible School in a non-Catholic church, and I enjoy being their that I became the first honor. It was like after I attended Flores De Mayo in our chapel then I attend DVBS after. Just enjoying my childhood life learning about God. When I reached in highschool, I became more curious about other churches which my father don't like. He isdevoted to our religion that he forbid me to go in other churches. But since reading and listening about other religion won't satisfy me, then I tried many times to go in different churches without telling them. But after all, my father knew it and he wasn't get angry, he even said that he is so proud how eager I am to learn through my personal experience. And I don't have any complain about those churches that I've attended, the church itself is not a problem, but in the long run you are with them, the true identity will reveal. Godliness vs Religious Godliness is about following God's commandments, loving Him wholeheartedly and doing actions which you think can make Him happy. On the other hand, when we say religious it's all about following church or other religious institutions' rule and principles; being dedicated to your church or religion. For example, one of my friend is an active member of their church, she always join different programs and competitions, the reason why I see her as a religious one. But, I can say that she's not a godly one, as she likes to bully and look down other students. Why I shared this topic, is for us to make some reflection if we are being a follower of God or just a follower of church. Sometimes we are being controlled about the things that we know as enough and right without realizing that we are being a servant of sin than God. Own SWOT Analysis for One Year Anniversary *Yes, it is! Finally I reached my one year anniversary in read.cash. It happened just last July 28 but because of my hectic schedule then I wasn't able to publish some article. God is really good and great, He Bless my journey in here. Time goes by really fast and I am so glad that I finally reached 1 year user.* Strengths One thing that I am more grateful being here in read.cash is to have those users who never get tired of supporting me. When I am a newbie, I never thought that I will be felt at home without those users who interact me with kindness and generosity. They became my strength and motivation although I am not that lucky to catch Rusty's attention easily. I honestly feel demotivated, but I know staying here is worth it. Opportunities I will focus on three things that I personally see as major opportunities in read.cash. First is to enhance your writing, reading and comprehension. I always mentioned before that I love to write, but when I became part of this platform, I realize that I need to enhance myself more. There's a lot of great users that I saw here, and sometimes I felt shy to interact thinking that they will ignore me but it's not. Second is to build friendship and communication, if you're a new user this is the first thing that you must prioritize, to engage with other users so that they will notice you. It's not that easy but surely you will see a lot of kind users. Lastly, it gives you the opportunity to gain more knowledge, and for you to open up what you felt through writing. One way to lessen your burdens and pain to is to show it through writing, and what's good being part of this community is that no one will judge you. Threats I guess everyone of us are afraid that our accounts will turn to "low score", it is one of the major threats why some users in here prefer to make their second, third and more accounts. That's why before I said that read.cash is not for those people who easily give up. If you love writing and engaging with other users then this platform is best for you, but if your aim is just to earn easily then everyone is not that lucky; there should be consistency and love. We are all affected by the market's price, it makes me feel sad thinking about those days when most users earn bigger amount. I actually plan for my one year anniversary, and giving time celebrate, to have fun and to create my own writing competition, but it all fade because of the situation. In just this month, I work while having our classes, we also have church activities like camping, and sometimes I sleep 1 am just to end the basketball league 12 midnight as I am one of the committee; imagine how haggard I am now; but then threats are everywhere, what we need to do is to overcome it. One Shot Horror Stories *Not yet Halloween but I would like to share true horror stories which I personally heard and experience. I truly love horror stories, and I hope that you will enjoy it too.* ________________________ The Musical Ghost When I was in primary I joined Drum and Lyre Corps, I am a lyrist and every dismissal we practice for upcoming competition. Every water break we always go to PTA Office and take a rest in which we spend time talking to each other, and of course as a student we like to talk about horror stories. One of my friend, the daughter of PTA Treasurer, said that there's a ghost in the office who likes to play instruments. We felt scared by her story, but since I haven't experience or feel something unusual then I forget about it easily. Weeks have passed, the competition is so near, our instructor told us that we must use weekends to practice as weekdays every after dismissal is not enough. One Saturday, we all go back to school and practice there for whole day, everything is good until we end at 5 pm. They all go home while me, my friend who is the daughter of our PTA treasurer and our other friend stay inside the office to wait for our parents. The sky is getting dark, seems like it's going to have a heavy rain, we are talking random things until we all heard that the lyre is playing. We all run outside and go to guard house, we keep it a secret and never go back again unless there are older than us inside. After I graduated in primary, I haven't heard any stories about the playing ghost. But, when I reach college, a guard record a video late at night showing that the keyboard piano is playing itself, the guard upload it, but after how many days it was deleted. And I understand why the school stop spreading the video. The Loving Kapre I have this cousin who lives near in the seashore, and everytime that we visit in their house she always tell horror stories, one that I cannot forget about what she said is since there's no big trees in their areas, only coconut tree, not that big but too tall, she said that supernatural entities such as kapre lives inside the banana tree. When she reached college, she always get sick and notice that everytime she's always at home she feels like someone is looking at her. Her parents think that she always get sick because she have a weak immune system, but as days passed by my cousin always dream about a huge man that she cannot clearly see the face, and every late afternoon they always smell a strong bad odor. My cousin's fever get worse that her parents bring her to traditional healer. The healer said that a strong entity wants to get my cousin, and it seems like it wants her as a wife. So, the healer give them instructions on what they need to do, I cannot remember what are those except about my cousin's hair, that she need to cut it short. Encounter in the market This happened to my grandparents, they transfer to the province and since they lack of ingredients at home, they decided to go to the market. They are not familiar with the place so they ask someone about the market's direction. After a man told them the direction, they look back and accidentally hit someone, they say sorry but it didn't response, it just walk straight and ignore them. When they finished buying groceries, they go home but it almost half an hour but they always end up going in the market's road. My grandma start to worry while my grandpa try to calm her and said that they need to turn their clothes inside-out. YouTube Channels That I Subscribed *YouTube is a platform where we can gain knowledge, motivation, entertainment, satisfaction, fear and discovery. Also we can't deny that those successful Youtubers gain a lot of income in this, that's why I'm planning to be a vlogger soon, charr! Cheater is Always a Cheater *Do you believe in the saying "Cheater is always a cheater"? Among all the activities, those busyness I am encountering these days, one that makes me triggered is seeing my bestfriend crying just because her boyfriend cheat on her.* ________________________ My bestfriend don't like to enter a romantic relationship, but this boy keeps on making her feel butterflies in her stomach, the boy always shows effort and prove that his intention is pure and sincere. I personally saw all of these, until they reached anniversary, and everything went so good. One day, the boy needs to go back in his own place to work, he promise to work hard for their future. *Fast forward* After almost 3 months of working, the boy chat my bestfriend and say sorry because he is now a father; yes, he make other girl pregnant, and because of this they need to break up. My bestfriend wants to ask a lot of questions but the boy doesn't respond again. He left my bestfriend hanging with lots of questions and heart broken. Until two days later, my bestfriend stalk the boy's ex, then she found out that they come back to each other. No one is pregnant, just an excuse to go back to his ex. Before my bestfriend and the boy are officially in a relationship, one of our friend already warn her that the boy is a cheater, but because of love, we believe that the boy change, and will change because of her; after all this what happened. What a literal boy, not a man I just share this story of her, to remind every girls to listen to your instinct; even for boys out there. I don't know why, but seems like as a human, especially for girls, we have this superpower of our very own instinct. Maybe some of you in here, those who are victim of cheating, before you finally caught him/her cheating, you already sense that there's something wrong. I was once a victim of cheating, and just like the excuse of my bestfriend's ex, he make other woman pregnant. One thing that I am truly thankful to God is that He save me from a wrong person. Before we had our relationship, I already know how cheater and flirty he is, but he change for me, but still the sayings *"cheater is always a cheater"*, belongs to him. Overall I'm thankful that we broke up. Just imagine how I take of myself, to have my first boyfriend as my last but nah! *Lol* For those you are fighting for their heartache because of cheating, just let yourself feel the pain and cry as long as you want. Let yourself feel the weakness, until finally your heart and mind says that it's time to be strong again. I always tell to my bestfriend to embrace the pain, until she will feel no more. It's true that time heals, and just like the bone our heart undergo a healing process. Crying is normal and heartache is normal, especially that your love is true, the best revenge that you can have is loving yourself more. Magic Realism: Common Characteristics *As what I have mentioned in previous article, that one of my favorite literally genre/style is the Magic Realism. For today's topic, I would like to share my previous knowledge about this literally style. Hope you will get some additional learnings, and can ask questions for clarification/s.* ________________________ **Magic Realism** or **Marvelous Realism** is a literary genre that present the real-world as magical and fantasy, that the world contains *"supernatural, surreal, and bizarre elements".* We have here the term "surreal", which presents the surrealism, but what's the difference of this in Magic Realism is that; Surrealism focus on dreams and reality as one, while Magic Realism contains supernatural entities, not as a dream, but the reality. The term Magic Realism was coined by Franz Roh in his painting. This style still shows what a real world is, but with the use of supernatural entities; in here horror genre exist. For you to better understand we have here; Characteristics of Magic Realism Rooted in Reality From the word *"realism",* this Magic Realism should be real, that's mean the settings of the story must take place in a real place. If you have watched the animated series Trese, this is also an example of series with magic realism genre, then you can observed that the settings of the story took place in a real street/address. Another example, is a movie with an ordinary family transferring in another house, which is an ordinary scenario of some family, there's a conflict and some reason why they need to transfer, then here it comes a ghost exist. Deals with Supernatural Entities Magic Realism deals with the appearance of the paranormal or anything that is at odds with how we often perceive reality, but it is however not separated from reality. Do you believe in ghost? That's part of magic realism. Elements of Fantasies, Magic, Metafiction Since supernatural exists in this genre then fantasies, magic and metafiction took place. Aside from ghost, we some characters with magic, and stories about fantasies that still somewhat talks about what reality is. Incorporates Legend and Folklore Most of our beliefs and stories about supernaturals came from our ancestors, great-great grandparents, in which we still embrace up to these days, and the prevalence of the paranormal is sometimes linked to the prehistoric. Inverts Cause and Effect This is usually in written works, and since movie is more preference than book then just think about those horror movies that you have watched, you may observed that most stories start with dealing that particular entities, and at the climax or falling action of the movie you will find out the reason of it's death, cause of revenge and anger. For example in the movie *"The Ring",* that the white lady was once a young girl but died due to drowning in the well. Uses Symbol and Imagery Just like surrealism, magic realism also consist symbols in characters, objects, place and events in the story. And if you read written work, you will observed that writers use imagery to describe the scenario of the story. That's it everyone! Just a short explanation about what Magic Realism is. Surrealism : Dream and Reality as One (Part II) *The other day, I shared the* *first part* *of my article in which I explain what surrealism and being a surreal means. I also stated the two characteristics of the this trend which are automatism and poetic.* https://read.cash/@Ling01/surrealism-dream-and-reality-as-one-1682fcd9 *For this day, let me continue the said topic as I go on to it's 3rd characteristic.* ________________________ Juxtaposition Juxtaposition is the form of combining unlike or unrelated things to each other, for example we have the night and day, good and evil, the light and darkness. Since surrealism is all about combining the dream and reality as one, most written works is kind of weird that's to impossible to be possible in reality, but only exist in dream. In literary works, seems like you are living in a dreamworld as the reality. For you to fully understand this, I recommend the novel **The Third Policeman** by **Flann O'brien**. Use Images and Metaphors Surrealism in art and literature is a kind of symbolic. This characteristic can be seen more in written works, so while reading a story, novel or any literature made by the surrealist artists, you need to think deeper and pay attention to all details. Sometimes the writers put the hidden meaning in the characters, objects, places or eve in conversation. Mystery In written works surrealism for me feels like a horror, and it feels mystery in a way that there's a lot of questions running into your mind. I can say that the movie Alice in Wonderland is a kind of surrealism too, in which Alice have a journey in a dreamworld as a reality, if you have watched this movie up to the end then you will understand what I mean. Solving a mystery on how she can escape in that magical world, also if you have observed in that movie, that the characters are so magical that doesn't exists in reality. Express themselves(basic drives) Andre Breton's idea about surrealism was influenced by Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, going back to the Part I of this article, Andre Breton use the surrealism as a method of healing from the traumatic experience of World War 1. Sigmund Freud wrote a book, The Interpretation of Dreams, in which he explain the conscious and unconscious mind of a person. That the conscious mind is the part of ourselves which we are aware on what we are thinking and doing, while the unconscious mind is the part wherein we are not aware on what we are doing and thinking, and this part is where we can find our hidden thought, desires, problems, fear, and other negative things that affects our personality. Base on Andre Breton's interpretation, since negativity is located in our unconscious mind, why not to set it free. By this, surrealist artist, prefer to get inspiration in their art base on their basic drives, their thoughts about asexuality, love, pleasure, hunger, etc. In this way, the surrealist can set their negativity out, free from the control of negative unconscious thought. Surrealism is an interesting trend to know, especially when you're into mystery and talking about bizzare ideas. To sum up, surrealism is combining our conscious and unconscious thought, to make our dreams into reality, that's why some artist draw their dream as an inspiration. Surrealism : Dream and Reality as One *Have you ever heard the word surreal? If not, surreal is about being beyond reality or more than reality. In the old times, they have this expression of saying "That's surreal!", everytime they saw an unbelievable things; those things you might think that only exist in our dream world.* *Surrealism, on the other hand, is the literary movement founded by Andre Breton, he formed the group of surrealist which their goal is to "to create something bizarre and disjointed, but somehow understandable".* *I want to share you this one, painting by Salvador Dali, one of the famous surrealist artist. Maybe you're familiar with him, the man with on fleek mustache. As you can see, he have here those melting clocks, also looks like a melted crescent moon with eyelashes and those big ants on the lower left side.* _________________**_______** This surrealism is one of my most favorite trend such as the Magic Realism*(I'll explain this soon too).* Why? Because this talks about the dream and reality being connected as one, and other two matters which are contradict to each other, but in the surrealism it became one. In short, we are going to make our dream real. Surrealism doesn't follow a single form or method, it has it's own set of **characteristics** which can help you to determine and understand what surrealism is; Automatism This is a technique of doing without thinking *(I also mentioned this before)*. During the time of Andre Breton World War 1 happened, he was sent as a medic and at that time he witnessed how everyone suffer from that war, even he himself. When the war finally ended, Andre Breton think about how they can start again after all those problems, trauma and depression that the war gave to them, until he form the surrealist group and use the automatism technique. Automatism is so easy that everyone can be an artist and writer on their own. In the form of art, automatism can be use by showing what comes into your mind the moment you hold your tools through painting or drawing. To make this clear, I will give an example; Scenario 1, you are a painter and you are going to make an art using the common style we prefer, the beautiful and perfect art, so you will make a flower, green leaves, butterfly on the side, and lastly mountain and trees at the back. Your viewer will understand that your art is all about the beauty of nature, and every subject on it are connected to each other. Scenario 2, you are a painter and you are going to use the automatism technique, the moment you hold your brush, you immediately think about a flower, while making the flower it comes to your mind to draw a hand, so instead of leaves you have those hands, then again your mind think about putting spaceship at the back, so you add it, then another burning whale at the right side of the back. At the end, your viewers will get confused on what's your drawing about, but it's not about them, but your work on how your mind create while on the process of painting. Poetic In writing, they follow poetic style in a way that the writer doesn't follow a structural elements of the plot; exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and Denouement. They also use imagery, those idiomatic expressions, to explain what's happening in the story, and other abstract ideas. How Complicated To Get A Job *Here in the Philippines, the issue about K-12 still do exist. For some, K-12 is very helpful in a way that the students can decide on what course they will take in college, that the additional two years will give them a good experiences to learn in the particular track they want to pursue. On the other hand, some students do not agree on this, as it will just consume more years before they graduate, and more expenses although the government provide subsidies, in reality this is not enough as there are more expenses other than the tuition.* ________________________ I have mentioned last time that my younger brother will graduate from senior high, then we saw some posts saying that the new set of national officers are planning to remove the K-12, imagine if this happened, then on the next school year the batch of my younger brother who graduated from senior high school or grade 12, will pursue first year college together with those who had moving up from grade 10. I told my mom that it's impossible to remove that k-12 although many are against to it, even I myself is neutral in terms of this topic. My mom jokingly said*, "It's okay if they will remove the k-12, but they must pay back all our expenses."* About finding a job, most of the companies and other jobs prefer to hire college graduates, and since they don't accept graduates from k-12, then others conclude that k-12 was useless. What's more funny here in the Philippines is that most companies have this high standard, I remember my aunt talking about *"pleasing personality"* as one of the major requirement of an applicant, I asked her on what does it mean, then she said that the company needs a beautiful/handsome worker. Like opss, we are all beautiful, but what if the outer beauty that we have doesn't reach the standard of the company; end up with discrimination. One of my co-worker said that when her son graduated from k-12, it became lazy to pursue college, he prefer to work at least he can earn, and ignore the benefits of being a college graduate. I have watched a video, saying how demanding to have a job in the Philippines. First, they want you to be a college graduate with 1-2 years experience. Imagine you are a fresh graduate and trying your best to grab any work that you can, then they will ask about your experience; does the 17-19 years on studies isn't enough for experience? *Charr*. One thing that I don't like about finding a job is that it's too hard when you don't have a backer or someone that will help you to take even the lowest position. Actually this is not only in job, but even in scholarship, when you don't have backer then don't expect too much that you can get the slot. This is not good, but what I am saying is the reality; no matter how intelligent you are. Some of our kababayans prefer to work abroad, most of them take job which not related to the courses in college, but they are satisfied with their income although it's not that easy. I don't know if my co-filipino writers here have the same observation, again based on my observation, that the government usually give an additional salary to teachers, police and army; but in other job sectors still the same. Another thing that I don't like in terms of salary is that those who work hard only gain few income, while those who just sit in the office or just have that work because of power earn more. What Happend Before, During and After Graduation Day *I was scrolling in my Facebook's newsfeed, then I saw that most posts are about graduation, and I feel so happy seeing my friends and people that I personally know posting thier photos about their celebration, not only in college but also in elementary and secondary; just like my younger brother that he is going to graduate from grade 12.* *Seeing those stuffs, it brings back the time of my very own graduation, I was a President in our class before and everytime there's videos or other memes about a president crying, just because the class is too noisy and not following him/her, then my friends keeps on mentioning me. And I was like, it's too cringe thinking about me that time. Lol* *Back to graduation topic, I would like to bring back those funny and unforgettable moments before, during and after graduation day. Hopefully, you can relate to this too.* ________________________ ***Before Graduation*** Signing of clearances, Tuition and more expenses Yes, it's a relief to finally have your graduation but before that, these 3 things that I have mentioned above are always present. Ofcourse school is a business in disguise, I don't know if you get what I mean but yes it is. During my secondary, we cannot focus on graduation practices as we need to think about our clearance, where and when can we found the teachers because during the signing of clearance they become invisible, and if you are not scholar or sponsor in any organization, you keep on thinking how will you fully paid the tuition, and to pay those toga, tokens and more. Daily Practices This is the part wherein we are happy because class no more, but struggling from too much heat falling in line to do the march, and to keep on repeating from the start everytime there's a mistake. This is also the time when you need to be a singer, *lol*. Just like the teacher assigned for our graduation practices, he is so strict and we need to harmonized and open our mouth wide, so we can sing it all well. ***During Graduation*** Hair Rebond Okay, I don't know to my foreign friends if this is common in your country, but in the Philippines most girls are on rebond during graduation day. You will get surprise on girl's transformation, no buhaghag for today's video. Force to take a picture Most moms are like this, they will force you to stand on the stage on where they like to take a picture of you wearing your toga and the ribbon/candy garland. This is too sweet, but sometimes it's too awkward, and if you're a shy type seems like everyone are looking at you. Crying baby Girls, I know this is common to girls, crying because they are thinking they will seperate with their bestfriends and classmates. Then you will just find out that they are still classmate the next year. ***After Graduation*** Going to mall or restaurant As I observed most schools prefer to conduct graduation in mall's convention center. Perfect place to do shopping after the ceremony and to eat in restaurant. Here, the favorite place is Jolibee. If you're going to go in Jolibee during graduation day most people in line are parents with their daughter/son wearing toga. Are We Still Look The Same After Death? *Are We Still Look The Same After Death? This question comes in my mind when I remembered my mom's story when she was young.* *According her, she was only 9 years old when her father died, one of the most painful part of her life. During burial, he saw a man who has the same figure of her dad. She follow it and saw clearly that the man is wearing the same clothes on what her's father wearing in the coffin; because of that she was sure that it was her father's soul saying goodbye to her. When my mom reached college, she still saw the same figure wearing the same clothes, but when she follow it, she found nothing.* ________________________ There was this movie, I forgot what's the title of it, but the story was base on the real life story about a young boy, maybe 4-6 years old who has been hospitalized that it came to the point that he is fighting for death. His parents asked prayers to everyone they know and even to the church, by God's grace the boy was healed. After how many days, her mother was so shocked when the boy said that he visit the heaven, and saw her sister. Her mother was confused on what her son's talking about but then the boy added that her sister looks exactly the same to her, and shared that she died during the time that she was a baby. The boy's mom can't stop her tears, as she remember her daughter who died inside her tummy. The story of my mom and the movie that I have watched are both showing how a person looks like years after death. In the case of my mom, she saw her dad exactly the same, grandpa doesn't get old; while in the case of the movie, the baby grow up. One of my friend said, that when there is a twin, and the other one die, the person living in this earth will grow old while the other one will live eternity same look on what age he/she died. If you have watched the movie **Coco**, then it supports my friend's statement. In the movie, Mama Coco, Miguel's great grandmother be with her father who looks too young than her at the end of the movie, the reason is that Mama Coco's father died at the young age, while Mama Coco die at the age of 100. Life and death, is a kind of tricky and mysterious issue to talk about, although there are people who said that they die and saw heaven and hell, but still there's no accurate evidence to prove that these are true. My mom's coworker said that she wants to look good and put make-up, that at least when she die she looks beautiful. It's just a joke, but 10% true *charr*. I also watched a video clip of Vice Ganda, a famous genius comedian in the Philippines, who jokingly said that she puts make-up even when she is sleeping, so when she die she still looks beautiful and not *chaka*. Besides, whether we die young or old, physically look good or not, in the other life it doesn't matter at all because everything is in love, peace and joy. But let's remember, to live the life according to God's will. We should not make the phrase *"I'm just a human"*, to give an excuse for our wrong doings. Harder to Live Without for a Year *Just yesterday when I make an article about answering the questions' which is worse. For today, since I'm still out of topic, then I go again for another prompt answering the questions' "What would be harder to live without for a year. If you don't have topic to publish then you can try it too.* *Enjoy!* ________________________ ***What would be harder to live without for a year:*** Internet vs. TV **Internet**. I'm not into watching TV, and I'm that type of a viewer who don't give more interest in series, movie, show, etc. unless I have watched it from the start. While it's hard not to have internet, because all of my works are in need too have a connection, just like being part of this platform. Music vs. Movies **Music**. I am into music than movies, and I listen for more music than watching movies. I don't know why but I easily get bored when the exposition of the story doesn't catch my attention. I tried my best to be a movie enthusiast, but I can't. Shoes vs Soap **Soap**. Shoes as fashion, but what's the use without sanitation? Actually, as of now I don't have shoes, I guess it's been a year ago the last time I wear rubber shoes, before I don't like to go out wearing an open sandal, as it makes my feet get dirt easily, but now as long as there's a soap then no more worries. Sunscreen vs. Sunglasses **Sunscreen**. I dont use either one of these two, although both have it's own benefits; to protect our skin and to protect our eyes. Why I chose sunscreen, is that I always go outside and I know how the sun rays hits our skin so hard, better to take care of it, especially if our skin are still healthy and young. Sugar vs. Gluten **Sugar**. I just love sweets the reason I chose it, although I consume it both at the same time. Car vs. Phone **Phone**. First, I don't have a car and for how many years I am able to live happily without thinking about it, lol. Phone is very essential these days, the reason why I need to have it every day. Coffee vs. Alcoholic drinks **Coffee**. I don't like both of these, but I prefer to chose coffee than alcoholic drinks. Then at least I can give this to my parents and friends, they love coffee. The beach vs. The snow **The beach**. Once again, we are in a tropical country, and a year without the beach is a kind of an incomplete year. Maybe if we are experiencing snow, I will choose it, but since not then go for beach. Toilet paper vs. Toothbrush **Toothbrush**. We are not using toilet paper, we prefer the water and soap, haha so a year without a toothbrush is *chaka*! I don't know what word can I use, just I mean that it's a big NO-NO. Fruits vs. Vegetables **Vegetables**. We usually use vegetables as our viand, and it's kind of hard not to have this for a year. Yes, fruits are important too but I guess vegetables can help us not to starve. But I honestly, think about fruits as first because of celebrations like Christmas and New Year. Pillow vs. Blankets **Blankets**. I cannot sleep well without these two, but I prefer to have blanket because I can use it as a pillow. Which is Worse; This or That? *I would like to challenge myself through answering these fun and tricky questions. So if you're into it, why not to try this too.* *Have fun!* ________________________ Late for a date or Break a promise **Break a promise.** I really hate lies, I am into being hurt by the truth than having a happy life with a lies. I also don't like someone to promise at me, as I care for actions than words. I don't believe that promises are meant to be broken, as there are people out there who can stand with their promise, I just chose it as worse, since there are more people who broke it than people who do it, and I don't want to be the victim of broken promises again. Late for a date? That's okay as long as the reason is acceptable. Get rejected by a crush or Crush doesn't know your feelings **Get rejected by a crush.** I don't easily get attracted to someone and I'm too shy to confess. So for example, I have a crush and I do my very best just to tell him my feelings, then he rejected it, then I was like, *"What I Have Done!"* to myself; really. I guess, I cannot sleep well not because he don't like me, but out of embarrassment. A hero dies in a movie or A dog dies in a movie **A dog dies in a movie.** I don't like to watch movie wherein dogs are the main focus on the story, because it always in unhappy ending. I don't know why, but I feel more sad and heartbroken everytime a dog suffers or die in a movie. I forgot the title of the first movie that I have watched about the story of a dog, but this dog haven't die but his owner, and he keeps on waiting his owner day and night just to see him arrived, and it was base on true to life story. Just see how loyal dogs are. Send screenshot to a wrong person or Like your crush's old photo **Like your crush's old photo.** If this happen, I don't know what excuses I am going to tell, either I will confess to him that I am stalking or to lie that someone told me to stalk or take a pictures of him. It's another embarrassing thing. Too cold or too hot **Too cold.** Philippines is a tropical country, and my skin used to feel the heat. While, everytime I'm in this particular mall in our city, because their aircon is too cold then it feels like I'm going to freeze and I can't stand there for an hour. Another reason is that, when it's too hot, we have refrigerator, ceiling fan and water that can ease the heat, but in too much cold we don't have heater and it makes me more lazy. Can't clean your tongue or Can't clean your teeth **Can't clean my teeth** It's also not good not to clean my tongue as it can still affect oral hygiene, but then since we can hide it at the back of our teeth, and everytime we smile or laugh we don't need to pull out our tongue, so better to care more about the teeth. Be single or Have no friends **Be single** Friends are important part of our life, but why I chose being single as a worse is because, when the right time came your friends or bestfriend will have lifetime partner and build their own family. Although you are important to them, but when they need to settle they will chose their partner, and not you as a friend. If you are single, then what now? Unless you offer your service in church or community. Friends upload your ugly photos or Your old photos are dug up by friends **Friends upload your ugly photos.** I think this two choices are the same, but then I just chose uploading ugly photos as worse because I can relate on it. The Kind of Father that I Have *Oh I'm absent in this platform for almost one week and already late for some updates, but thanks God that finally I am here again.* *This day is a celebration, especially for our fathers in the world; all the fathers, dads, grandfathers, uncles, teachers and those single moms who serve as a father to her child/children. Also, don't forget to greet our almighty God, as He is the great father of all, without him we are nothing and without his love we are nothing.* *Since most of us are already flexing their father, then I would like to share what kind of father I have.* ________________________ Funny My father is a joker, he always makes our day fun and we can play with him like just our brother. When I was a kid my favorite part of the night is when we are going to sleep and he is there to tell us horror stories, and also funny jokes. Some of his funny stories are from his own experiences, that until now he keeps on sharing, and although he heard it multiple times, the way he talk and do some actions still make us laugh hard. Amazing He is really amazing in his own way. The way he talk with knowledge and wisdom, makes me love listening to his advices and stories. Not a surprise, because God make him a layco, who can spread the Holy Word. He is amazing in his talents, he can draw, do calligraphy, play basketball so well, do some crafts and many more. He is amazing in memorizing every details in the book that he have read, due to financial problem he wasn't able to finish college but let me tell you, he is so smart. Even now, he still use some of his vacant time reading books, and he loves history which I don't like unless it's all about Mythology and Philosophy. Talkative Okay I don't know if this is a good characteristics of him or disadvantage on me lol. Because everytime I'm with him going somewhere, we take almost an hour because of him talking to his friends. He is so talkative and friendly that most of the people in our area know him. He is also close in all youth in our church, as what I have said you can talk to him like a brother. Helpful Sometimes I don't like when he is too helpful to everyone, because I myself saw how some of the people took advantage of it. He is too kind and helpful, in a way that he think others first before himself. He help everyone, even it took his time and effort without asking any in return. He is a kind of one call away friend and brother, that everyone can trust. Energetic He didn't take any vitamins but his energy is so high lol he can even do zumba with us although he cannot follow the steps properly. He is always on the go in every activities or program that we have. Resourceful The creativity level of my father is high, that shows how resourceful he is. For example, months ago when we renovating our room, and since it's too expensive to pay someone to do it then my father initiate to be the carpenter, although he don't have experience to do carpentry. My mom keeps on laughing at him, measuring every details on the wood, and at the end it looks so good. *Speaking of celebration, what we have today are these cake and spaghetti, a simple celebration with the whole family and also a T-shirt as a gift for him. Where Have You Been Ginger? *This story just happened last week, by the way "Ginger" is the name of our orange cat. Both of them get pregnant but Sushi was like one month ahead. So when Sushi gave birth to her kitten, she take care of it 24/7, until it came to the point that Miming is going to give birth too. Sushi as a loving mother, help Miming in giving birth, and after that Sushi take care them all; her own kitten, Miming and the two newly born kittens of Miming.* *The next day, Miming leave her kittens to Sushi and live like she doesn't give birth, on the other hand Sushi became the mother of all.* *Lol! Hope you got this complicated story.* *________________________* *Back to the main topic* As I've said, Miming gave birth to two kittens, unfortunately the other one haven't survive but the other one who got the color orange named Ginger. Since Sushi is too loving, she treat equally her own kitten and Ginger which supposedly her grandkitten*(charr)* as her own, give them milk, clean and watch them 24/7. One day, my father go out to feed our pets. He was calling Ginger but it was none, I told him that maybe it is sleeping anywhere inside our house the reason that it didn't hear my father, because Ginger likes to enter under the cabinet, refrigerator, kitchen, etc. It's already noon when I noticed that Ginger is still gone, and at night when we had our dinner we are talking that maybe someone bring him. My mom loves Ginger so much, as after so many years we finally have orange cat, because usually our cat was gray and black. It's already dark, we go outside and look for him. Until, we hear Ginger's meow outside our gate, he is in those tall grasses like 5 meters away from our gate. Finally, we saw him there, take him home and feed him. The next day, early in the morning, my younger brother suppose to feed them when he notice that Ginger is missing again. *Fast forward.* At night, in the same spot where he was found the other night, was still the same spot where he was found. We are thinking that maybe it's other cat, or it's his father who are taking him every night. This scenario happened up to the third time, until my father said that we must keep an eye who's bringing him outside. On the fourth night, my father remind us to keep an eye although it's impossible to be caught because maybe he is taking midnight or dawn, and we are already sleeping. But then just few minutes after father said it, my younger brother knocked in my room and said, *"Sis Ginger is missing again"*, I can see in the eyes of my brother that he is scared, and I jokingly told him, *"hmmn there's something unusual in this cat"*, which makes him think that Ginger is in horror. *Lol* I help my brother look around to find Ginger, and it was really gone. My mother and father also help us to look for Ginger, and after like 1 hour, we are surprise to see him in the kitchen playing. My father said that his number one suspect is the biological mother of Ginger, maybe she don't like to have kittens at home, the reason why she always take Ginger outside and leave him alone. The next day, for the last time, my parents keep an eye on Ginger. Things To Do When You Feel Stress *Due to some factors stress occurred, and this is a natural reaction of the human's body to it's inability to cope with specific demands and situations. If we focus on the good side, stress can be a motivator or a reminder for us to limit and be careful on what we are doing. For example, you're in a group of friends, and you always feel bad surrounded with them with gives you stress, through that, your emotional health is already giving you a sign that they are not a good friends.* *If a person does not take steps to manage stress, it might become a chronic condition. The reason why we need to listen to ourselves and do our best not to have mental problems.* *For today, I will share some of the basic and most effective ways on how to Cope up with stress, I know we have different techniques on how to deal with it but I hope these things can give you some tips.* ________________________ Pray When we are praying, we calm ourselves and let our mind freely say what it wants. By this, we are able to change our mental state in a control and relaxing manner. Since prayer is powerful, that we are talking to God, then this will help us more to relieve stress. The time when we burst out to cry, remember that it's okay to cry as long as it lessen the heartaches. Listen to music Music is another effective way to cope up with stress. You can choose sad songs which can make you cry, as I've said crying can relieve the pain. Seven Vices: Get Rid, Avoid and Stop It! *In my last article, I shared about the seven virtues to apply in life: Humility, Kindness, Chastity, Patience, Temperance, Generosity and Diligence. All these seven virtues shows what morality is and what good deeds are. Since that I'm focusing on the positive aspect of good manners in that article, on what we must do in order to live a good life, then now let's move to the seven vices. These vices refers about immorality and wrong doings; the bad side of human characteristics.* ________________________ The Seven Vices to Avoid in Pride This is equal for being a boastful, but opposite for Humility. Pride can be a positive characteristic if this gives us confidence and value that we are able to cope with our community's standard, but this became negative if it turns our excessively that we degrade others' right and worth. Envy In life we must aim for success, but to be contented on the things that God's wants us to have is better. There are two kinds of envious people; one are those who are envy to others and it effects their whole being, like he will look down on himself saying why he can't achieve and afford what others have. This affect his mental health and self-worth. Second are those envy people who will say bad behind your back, In a community wherein you are surrounded with this kind of people is dangerous, why? Because their mind was set for negativity, that everything that you have is not worth for you, they will do and say everything just to prove that it's not for you. Lust Lust is not all about physical touch, but the act on how you think and look to others in a filthy way is already considered as lust. Anger It's too difficult to control anger when it's already too much, but it's really okay to get angry because that is the usual emotional reaction of a person when we are against to a particular matter. For example, you don't like a thief, then once someone steal the phone of your bestfriend, then your reaction will obviously get angry. Why anger became one of the major vices, is that during anger times, we cannot control ourselves in a way that we utter bad words, we hurt other people without us realizing that it's too much. So, as long as we can, try to do breathing exercise and keep your mouth shut, to lessen the problem. Gluttony Food is life but we should remember not to be excessive in a way that we became greedy in food. Are you a kind of a person who still eat while you are in a group where your friends don't have something to eat? If you are, think about this act multiple times, and ask yourself, *"Am I doing good?"* Greed This is one of the trait of a person that I hate the most, like once I observed that you're a greedy person, then I immediately lose my interest on you. Greed is about being selfish, you don't care about others, you don't give sympathy and sacrificing is not in your vocabulary. Sloth I am not referring to a kind of mammals that lives in a tree, but to a human characteristics. This refers to the laziness of a person; lazy to do daily activities, lazy to help and lazy to do spiritual works. Seven Heavenly Virtues to Apply in Life ***Seven Heavenly Virtues*** *are the characteristics or moral in life that we must follow in order to be a better follower of God. These are the guidelines for us to reflect if we are doing what is right, or going with the flow of worldly pleasures. Let's try to reflect, meditate and change for the better.* ________________________ Humility To be always humble should be part of our life. The reason why most people change their behavior once they became rich is that they forgot to humble themselves. I personally know some people who are too humble, but now that they have the money they are acting as if they own everything. We should keep in our mind that everything that we have, all the blessings that we recieve are from God. Yes, most of us work hard on it, one of the factor why we achieve that particular success, but still we should stay our feet on the ground; as at the end, we cannot bring all those material things in other life. **K** Kindness You are lucky if you are surrounded withlind people, but blessed when you yourself is a kind person. This is all about thinking what's good for the others, praying what's best for the others is also an act of kindness. And especially, forgiving, no matter how painful or worse they made. Chastity This is all about refraining from doing acts which can less the value of your dignity and pure thoughts. I guess in this century, most of us are already open minded. Before, it's a big No-No doing sexual act when the couples are not yet married. But when I was in first year college, our General Psychology teacher, told us that it's okay do this as long as you're loyal to your partner. I was shocked, but then I realized that I also need to understand and accept other's point of view. So, in this chastity, what we need to do is to value ourselves by being loyal to your partner, if you have *charr.* Patience Patience is so hard to achieve once you're experiencing some stress or pressure. So in order not to hurt yourself or other people, it is better to calm and control yourself. On the other hand, we can apply patience, when we are praying for something, like it's been so long but still God didn't answer it. Remember that God wants better for us, so do wait, time will come and it will be given to you. Temperance I can associate temperance into kindness and patience. This is too hard when your body wants to burst out and punch someone, but still let yourself calm. Generosity To give without asking for any return. This is an act of sharing blessings to others, one of the precious act to do if you want to please God. You don't need to give big if you too is in need, but a simple things already means a lot. By the way, if you want to give, don't need to have the eyes of media. Diligence It's not all about being diligence in your job or study, but it is more on about doing God's teaching to be a better believer of Him. Make yourself into someone who is useful and not a useless creation of our almighty God. This is about reminding us that our life is a precious gift, that we must value, all the time is effort are worth. *Things that I have shared are based on my own understanding and self-reflection. What Does Being An "Educated" Mean? *We refer the term Educated as a person who is studying, or a professional, or someone who already have accomplishments in his/her studies. For me not be biased, I search in Google and it shows;* ***Educated*** *- resulting from or having had a good education* *-* ***Oxford Languages Dictionary*** *If we just based on what Oxford Languages Dictionary provided, we can say that there's a lot of us who are educated, even you who are reading this. We are all educated, but are we well-mannered?* ________________________ Maybe 2 years ago when I visited one of our local private school. And I was sitting with my friends in their outside canteen, and one store in there have a tarpaulin saying, *"Be a real educated, throw your garbage on the trash can",* something like this. And in other store there is also something like a slogan saying, *"Educated people throw garbages everywhere, uneducated people pickup the pieces".* I can't remember the exact slogan they have but their message is like this. My friend said, *"Vendors are reminding everyone, because students looks like educated but act like uneducated".* It's true, some are only educated on what they are wearing but not on what they are doing. There's a lot of people who are educated yet not well-mannered. That's why I said in my other article, that knowledge can fool us but a person with good heart is worth to know. I don't know if the subject **GMRC***( Good Moral and Right Conduct)* still exist in primary, but during my grade 1-3, our first subject was this. But as I remember, our adviser don't teach us anything on this subject, but just to give us announcement, so it became our favorite subject as we can do some chitchats to our seatmates. This is not good actually, imagine having this subject but instead on learning what a good character is, the student just do nothing. In teaching and assessment, I prefer that teacher won't only focuses on the student's learning improvement, about their academic and curricular activities, but especially to the moral and behavior. At the end, no matter how intelligent the student, no matter how they can perfectly answer all the assessment if their behaviors are failed, learnings are still useless. I do hope that although most students are online class or modular, still they practice good deeds at home, this is a must in developing the holistic of a child. But if you're a teacher, a parent, older sibling, having someone whom you are teaching, then don't forget that they are just student/s who are learning, that we should also control ourselves that we can't hurt their feelings, on what style we prefer to help them to became *"well-mannered"*. Let us also build their self-efficacy, it is the individual's belief about his/herself ability. For example in a student having anxiety, this will lead him to have a negative outlook about himself, then it can be the cause for him not to enjoy in studies and limit his capabilities; as student's emotional well-being is very important, that it will serve as a big factor for their motivation. If a student are not motivated then how they can be well-educated. Again, well-educated not just *"educated"*, it's not all about academic but being well-mannered. *Imagine living in the world wherein people are well-educated and well-mannered. No more degrading of rights, no more judgements and no more gab between classes. We can say that the fat man in suit represents all of the corrupt government officials. They are pretending as if they are covering all costs, just like this fat man providing a carrot to keep the work going, but in reality it is for them to keep in control. On the other hand, we see a gaunt man carrying this fat man demonstrating that the poor, like farmers, are the ones who bear the brunt of the weight and do the most effort. This shows the truth between workers who work hard over the government which only absorbs all of the benefits. I remember one of my bestfriend jokingly say a reality case, *"The government give 5k for every family, when it reached in LGU it became 3k, then when it reached in Barangay it became 2k, then it reached to purok chairman it turns ₱1,500. Finally, when it reached to every family, they can only recieve noodles and 5 kilos of rice"* This photo is already understandable, some people do help but with the eyes of media. They want praises and gain some benefits. There are some content creators or media influencers who prefer to use poor people to gain subscribers and income. Again, this is not for all, as there are rich people who really help unconditionally. In the photo, there are two men, the one who has a complete body parts but asking for money, and the one who has no arms but working. This photo shows the reality, not all, but in most cases wherein those who have disabilities, prefer to work hard just to help themselves and their family. While, there are people which I don't know if they are just too lazy or what, who prefer not to work and just sit in the corner or roam around to ask money for free. Are you also the same as me who do care more about those people with disabilities who still work hard, than those who are physically better but just keep on asking for money? I maybe judgmental but I don't easily feel pity for those people on the street, sitting outside establishment and waiting for the people to pass by, because why they are wasting their capabilities and time, asking for money if they can be an effective citizens. Just like in our local, the government already give some help for the street people, but some of them don't want to accept it and prefer the life they have right now; it's their choice. This is a great reminder to everyone of us, that there are many Persons With Disabilities who are professionals, influencers and motivational speakers. So it's about what you don't have, but all about what you have and can have. *Just few and random photos everyone. A Not So Productive But Blessed Month of May *A happy New month to everyone! To formally start my read.cash journey for the month of June. I want to share some reflections about the previous month of May, by answering Journal Prompts which I has taken in* ***Pinterest****. If you haven't had your reflections yet, you can try this too;* ________________________ What did you learn this month? Don't force yourself if you can't do it. Last month I set a goal of publishing 5-6 articles in a week but unfortunately I wasn't able to achieve this because I am not physically and mentally able everyday. This month I experience a lot of challenges in my real life and it do affect my activity here. But it doesn't mean that I will stop because I am treasure being part of this platform. Just like what I've said, I don't force myself when my mind and body can't write, so I prefer to listen what's good for my health. What were your wins/grateful for the month? Although there's a lot of challenges in the previous month, but still I am blessed to overcome those, and gain more blessings and positivity. I guess overcoming those challenges is the best wins that I achieved last month. Here in read.cash, I am so thankful that although I am not that active and can't interact more in comment section, but still so happy that most of my friends here still support me. What will you do differently this month? I want to improve myself physically, emotionally and spiritually. I'm still into publishing 5-6 times a week, especially that the value of bch is still low. In terms of doing differently, maybe I can only assure of doing it by changing the theme of my photos lol. Let's see on what different things I can do more. What challenges did you have to overcome this month? Too may to mention, but on how I overcome it is through prayer and self motivation. How did you prioritize your relationship with Christ? My biggest Flex for the month of May, is that I achieved reading bible and having my prayer daily, I guess there's only one day that I haven't read a bible and that is during our fiesta when my relatives are staying in my room. How did you build a healthy relationship this month? If there's one person that my relationship grows more, then that's my relationship with my mom. She is so busy at work, and it's the same thing as me, but these days we prefer to bond more and talk more. Most of the time she go in my room and have some chitchats, it's a kind of a precious moment. How did you prioritize your mental and emotional health? By ignoring negativity. How did I experience the presence of God this month? I experience it everyday ofcourse, but maybe what is the most is when I ask God for a guidance to my father, and he gave it. How did you honor your body this month? By giving what my body wants, it is good if we give ourselves some gifts as an exchange for the whole month's stress. A reward to yourself, no need to ask it to anyone, better if you do it to yourself, for example your income here in read.cash, some use this to help their family, why not to reward yourself even just 10% of your income? How did you choose joy? Joy is my bestfriend, *charr*. I Fell Inlove With My Bestfriend *Friends or having a bestfriend is one of the precious gift that we can have in life. To have someone who can be with us through ups and down, and that someone who knows how to value and listen every stories, even your stress, unconditionally.* *But, have you seen or heard some romantic relationship, or a couple who broke up just because of the reason that one of them prefer to choose their bestfriend than their partner?* ________________________ 2 days ago when I saw a video on Tiktok about a boy, who shared the screenshot of his conversation with his girlfriend. In their convo, the girl is begging for him to leave his girl bestfriend, she's telling to her boyfriend that he can have many friends as he wants as long as it's a boy but not a girl. Actually the message of the girl, is not that she's angry but begging for his boyfriend to chose her and she even said *"Please. I can do whatever she can. Looove I can"* On the other hand, maybe the boy post it thinking that the netizen will support him, but he got a reaction about the viewers who are angry and disappointed on him. Other comments are; *"Seems like your gf have a trauma in her past relationship. Hope you didn't enter in that relationship if you can't choose her"* *"You're concerned about what will be the feelings of your girl bestfriend than your girlfriend. Hope you don't have girlfriend"* *"It's too easy to say 'You' bro"* *"'You don't need to say more', brooo don't tell that to your girlfriend. She have trust in you but for sure she see that there's something wrong... It's you who said that you're in LDR, so focus on her... Based on your reply, you're one sided, you're choosing your girl bestfriend which is red flag"* Why I shared this because I want to remind every woman that they are precious, and for every man to please value your woman. I am deeply hurt about the girlfriend's situation, I really hate seeing a women begging for a man just to choose her. I really feel pity for every women who do everything for their man, but at the end only hurt them. It's true that when it comes to the point that you have a partner, you must limit your interaction with your opposite sex bestfriend, especially when that person is not close to your partner. I once had a boyfriend and my boy bestfriends knows their limit, same thing as me when I knew that my boy bestfriends have girlfriend, I also limit myself. Hopefully this can be an eye opening for those who are unconsciously hurting their partner just because they are more close, more open, more happy being with their bestfriend. Mind and Wealth, It's Mental Health *Mental health is very important part of our life, it is a key aspect in our daily living that influence how we think, how we act and what we feel. Problems and negativity are all around us, and although mental health is very important, we can't deny that we care about it less, not until we feel some stress, anxiety and leads to a depression.* *Mental health issues can affect different people in different ways. For example Person A can think problems as a spice of life, and normal; while, on the other hand, Person B can think that problem is dangerous, and hell on earth. We should remember not to judge!* ________________________ Just this afternoon when I had another precious day with my church mate doing our monthly bible study. We came up to the topic of Mental health and there's some of us who shared their own story experiencing mental problem, and it is too dangerous and hard to overcome. One of my friend suffer from anxiety for almost 3 years, and according to his doctor, it is his prayer and he, himself, can only cure this problem. No matter how many medicine he will take, as long as there's no guidance of our God, and no self-motivation, still it's useless. By God's grace he overcome anxiety, and for now he is doing his best not to get stress as far as he can. One of our church mate also shared his life struggles being depressed. He don't have the courage to start a day, he always feel that he is a failure, he always wants to be alone and lonely, he wants to stay away from people no matter who and what they are, and always think that no one can understand him. *Through this sharing, it is somewhat a self-reflection, take time to pause and ask yourself; I am okay? It is so easily, to reply someone that you are okay, but how about deep inside, are you really okay? Does your mental health is really okay?* *Being emotionally healthy can help you be more productive and effective in every things that you do. It helps you adjust to changes in your life and manage with hardship, which is vital for the quality of your relationships. Mental problem is one of the reasons why relationship not just for a couple but even in a family, ruin.* So how we can overcome mental problems? Just like what I have stated above, that there are two major things that can help you to overcome this; First, being connected to God. Humble yourself to the presence of our God. Sometimes, we gain problems because we are too proud of ourself, that we don't even take some time to ask guidance from Him. Let God be the center and head of every plans that you do, that if when it comes to the point that you fail, your hope and positivity still there, saying everything happens for a reason, that it's part of God's plan Second, help yourself. If there is one person that can help you overcome Mental problems, then it's you. Be the number one motivator of yourself. Sometimes we keep on running for other's comfort that we don't realize we are loosing our value. So treat yourself good, first and foremost. What other things you can do? Things That Makes Me Happy Instantly *A happy day everyone! There's a lot of reasons for us to be happy and base on our own lives, we have our own preferences about the things that makes us happy.* *For today, I will share what are the top 5 things that makes me happy. In here, I exclude the people because being surrounded with good people is my life is already a blessings, and also I exclude holy things like bible and rosary because these things are always on top.* ________________________ ***So, here's my list;*** Books These days I am too busy that I wasn't able to read or even just to open any kind of books, but then I'm really happy to have this as one of my collection. Since then, I'm inlove with books, it started with those story books because the pictures do catch my interest. During my primary school, there's this seller of story books, who visit our school once in a year, and every story only cost 12 php. He have the list of the stories that are available and what we need to do is to check the title of the story that we want to buy. On the next day, he will come back, and we will present the checklist with our parent's signature, in order to get the book and pay it. But, when I reached highschool, I became more interested in science book. By the way, I also get bored easily to a book without pictures. Art Materials I am also a fan of art, and I never get tired of watching different kinds of art materials, seems like they are foods of my eyes. It can be materials about drawing(sketching), painting, coloring, journaling or calligraphy. I am not good in making an art piece, but I'm a big collector of it's materials. One of the reason why I want to visit, Japan, Korea and China is that, I have seen videos in YouTube that they have lots of stores offering cute staffs of art materials with good quality. Dresses I am a T-shirt and jeans person but I truly love fashion, I already stated this in my previous article, this is one of the collections that I am grateful to have. I love to see Korean style of dresses because it's too lovely and cute. The sad thing is, this kind of dresses is only available in online store, there are few in our local stores and malls but it's too expensive unlile online. Hopefully stores here offer this kind of clothes, as it's better to see it's quality and style in person. Letters When I miss my classmates during primary and secondary school, what I like to do is to read the letter from them. Yes, I can't deny that I am a materialistic person but when in terms of gifts, I highly appreciate more the cards. Imagine recieving a letter, handmade from them, it's really priceless. Foods Oh my! Who doesn't loves food in here? I guess all of us agree that food is one of the best medicine for sadness. I am a chocolate lover, and I always take this as a medicine everytime I have fever.
