Upcoming Free-to-Play MOBA in the Blockchain
If you are familiar with Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) or League of Legends (LOL), then you will surely be familiar with the upcoming free-to-play MOBA in the blockchain.
League of Ancients (LOA) is Binance's first-ever 5v5 Non-fungible Token (NFT) heroes battle; an upcoming game in the blockchain. It is a free-to-play, play-to-earn e-sports NFT game that will have its beta release on the 3rd quarter of the year 2022, and will have its full release on the 4th quarter of the same year. Its token is called $LOA which is already available in pancakeswap, biswap, apeswap, and its price is already in coingecko, coinmarketcap and gate.io.
Moreover, League of Ancients is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game. There will be two teams that will fight for victory on an enclosed battlefield. Each team consists of 5 players. Each team member will choose a hero that they will use, and if will be used strategically would enable the team to win the game. The first team who will destroy the enemy's base will be the winner and will earn an NFT reward.
"MOBA Madness in the Metaverse"
The founder of League of Ancients is Dwayne Ong, a crypto enthusiast and an entrepreneur based in Malaysia. His team are from different industries such as blockchain dev, game dev, and so on; they're from different countries as well, but mostly Malaysians.
Based on one of Ong's interviews, the making of League of Ancients is inspired by DOTA which he plays ever since he was young. His vision in coming up with the game is for the people to play the game that they love and they are passionate to play about while making a living out of it; giving equal opportunity for the people to earn. It aims to empower everyone and to give everyone a good quality NFT game experience. Something that is not out from mediocrity. Ong would also want people to love playing games in the blockchain through this MOBA game wherein a lot of people already love.
This is a wonderful vision and if the project will become successful after its launch, then it would become a great opportunity for people to play games while earning out from it.
Beyond grateful to have these wonderful friends with me in my journey in this platform. The support that you keep on sharing towards me is heartwarming.
Not to mention, what's good about LOA is it's an NFT game.
"What's so special about NFT games?"
NFT games use blockchain technology to prove ownership of digital assets. These assets can't be touched as they are in digital form, but you can use them in the game. You own them, use them, or even sell them in real-world dollars.
In NFT games, you are not spending money, instead, you are investing money through the assets that you have to earn or buy. Say, for example, you buy skins in a specific game, that skin will prove ownership to you and you will own that even at the end of time as the ownership to that skin was inscribed in the blockchain wherein the history of purchase was still there. Even if you don't play the game anymore, the skin will still be there in your wallet and will stay there as long as you don't sell it. Once you sell it, another owner will be inscribed in the blockchain as the owner of the skin. Unline non-NFT games the money you spend on the game will belong to the developer. You can't sell or even trade those game stuff through real-world dollars. In summary, your game assets are not owned by anyone, but you alone unless you sell them and buy from others.
Another important thing to note is that NFTs are decentralized, meaning no one owns or no authority owns the blockchain; it is available for everyone to earn and use. Moreover, NFT games are not a waste of time as the gaming hours and gaming assets that you have are already a form of investment.
Going back, League of Ancients has so much potential already. A lot of people are talking about this LOA game as it's bridging the cryptocurrency and the e-sports community together. Its goal is not only to provide entertainment for the people, but it's also to provide an opportunity for the people to earn money through playing. Not to mention, if the hype that it's resonating towards the world would be consistent, then the project of this MOBA in the blockchain would become a hit. Looking forward to what this NFT game would give to the world after its launch.
