Drowning

If I was drowning in the middle of the woods

Could you hear me and my sounds?

My splashes to break the surface?

The yells before I submerge deeper into the cold unforgiving ocean of loneliness?

If I was drowning in my head

Could you tell?

Would you know the different between my depression and yours?

Can you break mine like you broke me?

Mentally Physically Emotionally?

If I was drowning to be seen

Would you continue to pull the wool over my eyes?

Shut me in a dark closet and lock it up?

Could you let me see the sun or bury me on the moon?

If I was just drowning

Would you know why?

Would you know how?

Or would you be the one holding me underwater?
