Liam dropped down to the ground, his huge wings flapped once before folding up. He had skipped going to the lake and rather chosen to go to the waterfall. He was shirtless and didn't bother taking off his pants before stepping into the water. The water here was shallow, reaching only up to his knees, he walked under the water fall, welcoming the cascading coolness, it felt refreshing on his skin.

Closing his eyes he tried to drown out his thoughts but he couldn't, the dark image of Renard constantly played in his subconscious, this corruption had spread faster than anything he had imagined. Bringing his hands to wash his hair, he tried to remember how the war had broken out, Angels were supposed to be guardians to the humans. It seemed the once heavenly beings got tired of being just guards. They also wanted to be worshipped. He got out from under the water fall and walked out of the water, stretching and flapping his wings in the process to get the water out.

"Liam!" He heard his name and turned. On the other side of the stream was an Angel riding a wagon. Sheila. He flapped twice and was off the ground, coming down to settle beside the wagon. Sheila got down.

"Been a while renegade." She laughed. Like most renegade Angels, she also had a cloak on that concealed her wings. Liam beamed.

"As far as I know, there would only be one reason to find you around these parts."

Sheila grinned. "Ohh yes."

"How many?"

"Three. All boys." She lifted the black tarp that covered the wagon to reveal three human boys sleeping, they were all still young.

"You drugged them?"

"What can I say?" She returned the covering. "Human teenagers or humans in general, don't know who's for them and who's against."

"Where did you find them though?" Be was curious.

Sheila smiled and raised an eyebrow at him. Liam knew that look and he shook his head. "Ohh no you didn't. Again?!"

"What? I had to! It was either that or those demons would use these humans. I had to rescue them."

"Steal them away, you mean."

"Rescue Liam. I rescued them." She climbed back on.

"Where to?"

"A place. Up in the mountains. It's secluded and demons don't come there often, it's cold. They should be safe for a while." She snapped at the reins and the lone horse trotted forward.

"And then what?" Liam walked to keep up.

"And then Liam, we pray for the next move. See you later renegade."

Liam stood a while, watching the wagon bobble up and down, rocking as it's wooden wheels made its way along the uneven ground. As he watched, he remembered the human he had left lying vulnerable on the forest floors. He groaned in frustration and took to the skies.

Leticia let out a small scream when the demon's claw tore into the flesh on her left forearm. She frowned at the smirk plastered on her face. It was no surprise that the demon was strong but she too had held her ground, managing to sink her sword into the demon's thigh and sliced her back twice. The demon fought like a newbie, leaving her sides and back vulnerable to an attack, so Leticia guessed that she wasn't fully comfortable in the human body or she wasn't that good of a fighter, either way it was an advantage for Leticia.

"What bad manners you have," Leticia backed away when the demon leaped onto a tree trunk, ready to pounce. "You didn't even let me introduce myself." She twirled and sliced her blade in the air, dodging the demon's attack.

"Why? So I can scrabble it on your tomb stone?" She crouched down and barred her fangs at Leticia who was circling her.

"The guts!" Leticia smiled, gripping her sword in a better position. "Then what's your demon??"

She snarled. Stood. "Come closer and I'll engrave it in your chest!" She ran for Leticia. Enough play, she was going to end this.

She saw Leticia lift her sword and position herself to strike or dodge an attack. She barred her fangs and her claws protruded, she stretched her hand back and leaped, ready to rip her neck wide open. There was a sudden 'woosh' and her claws came in contact with something. Something hard. She dropped to the ground on one knee and looked up.

Leticia had brought her sword up when the demon came for her. She calculated the demon's strides and watched her extended claws, first she would cut off the hand and go for her abdomen. She knew there was no way the demon would be able to regenerate those limbs, it was still a human body.

She saw the demon leap in the air and then there was a sudden 'woosh' and she couldn't see the demon anymore. All she saw were two mighty wings which shone powerfully. She shut her eyes tightly and felt the immense heat, she staggered back and fell to the floor while still shielding her eyes.

"Phidian." She heard the deep baritone voice which sent shivers through her entire being.

The voice registered power and dominance and somehow still, calmness. She opened her eyes and saw the Angel - Liam - help the demon girl to her feet. She immediately sprang up.
