leticias-angel-1 - leticias-angel-2
Liam had opened his eyes when he felt a powerful sting. He expected to see an animal, a demon it possibly, another Angel, but what he hadn't expected was to see her. He watched her watch him with admiration, she had crouched down close to him and was stroking his wings. The girl was small and get scent was mixed, Angel and human.
Human? Was she an Angel hunting humans? Then she was not renegade like him, he frowned. She turned her gaze and froze when their eyes locked. He looked at her, those hazel eyes were heavy eyes emotions and asides from fear there was something else in them. Hurt?
He sat up and saw her move, her head went back and on impulse his hands went out behind her head to catch her. He smirked, he must have spooked her into fainting. She fainted. Angels don't get spooked so easily, especially not into fainting. He let his hands run along the length of her back through the cloak, smooth, no wings. One of his brows came up in astonishment. She was human. A human in this forest? He studied her, she was small, quite tiny and in her right hand was a feather, a feather from him.
He laid her down comfortably on the forest floor and that was when he noticed the two pouches, he shook them. Money. He noticed the container tied to her waist too and he opened it, brought it to his nose. He knew the smell of Angels. Asphax. That was how she had disguised her scent but she hadn't disguised the scent of the cloak, that had given her away. He searched and found two sandwiches, he decided to help himself since he hadn't eaten anything in a while, he would take this as part payment of losing a feather to her.
Resting his back on a tree stump, he ate the sandwiches while his eyes remained on her, the sword beside her looked very familiar, like the smaller make of his own, then he thought about it. Where was his sword? He remembered entering Smokes bar with it but he didn't remember leaving with it. Heck, he didn't even remember leaving the bar at all but yet somehow, here he was, passed out in the middle of the forest only to be awaken by a human plucking his feather.
When he was done eating, he stood up and stretched, his wings grew wide and his arms came up with a 'pop' sound in the elbows and that was when the stench reached his nose. He reeked of alcohol and needed a shower, fast. He glanced at the human still out on the forest floor, should he leave her alone in this forest? Like this she would be an easy pick for demons if they came this way. He raked his fingers through his long blond hair, weighing his options; fly her to the lake with him or leave her here till he returned. He didn't think long. Grabbing his own cost, he laid it over her, covering her whole body with it, he pulled the hood of her cloak over her head so she was mostly covered. Satisfied that she was ok, he took to the skies heading for the lake. He wasn't ready to be responsible for a human again.
Leticia was startled awake by the sudden 'woosh' of air and the coat covering her was partially blown off. She laid on the floor for a while with her eyes to the sky and tree tops. She had seen an Angel. She sprang up to a sitting position and that was when she noticed the coat on her, it was his - the Angel - she knew this because the stench of alcohol was strong on it. She looked around, her sword lad beside her, the pouches and Asphax were still on her but the sandwiches were gone. She stood up and grabbed the sword.
"What is an Angel doing alone in this forest and so early?"
Sh spun round, her sword up. Leticia studied the woman who had just spoke, only this wasn't a woman, her tail hung in the air behind her and her forked tongue slithered in and out. She noticed that the woman had no horns so she was obviously a demon resurrected in a human's body. She had called Leticia an Angel, meaning the Asphax had hidden her scent.
"You were here with Liam?" She asked again, walking up to Leticia whose sword was still up and pointed to her. The demon smiled.
"Where's he?" She questioned.
"Who?" Leticia replied.
"Liam..." She raised an eyebrow and pointed to the coat Leticia held in her hand, she looked at the coat. Liam? So that was his name. She faced the demon and decided to play along.
"Yes I was." She lowered her sword but still kept a distance. "Why are you looking for him?"
"I brought him here." She leaned against a tree and eyed Leticia. "What are you doing here and how did you end up with his coat?"
Leticia perceived that this demon was jealous but why? Liam? She thought they had been together? She smirked and hugged the coat to herself. The demon hissed.
"Hunting. I was hunting."
"Hunting? Human hunting?" She laughed. "You don't look like the type of Angel to do that, and if at all you do then you wouldn't stand a chance with Liam. He hated such sport."
Oh does he now, so he's against human hunting. Leticia thought and smiled. He was a keeper.
"I don't stand a chance and you do?" Leticia scoffed, it riled the demon and Leticia was enjoying every bit of it.
"When I said hunting," Leticia continued and put down the coat before fixing her eyes on the demon. "I mean demon hunting. I hunt demons for sport."
The demon snapped and charged at her. Leticia brought her sword up and smiled, adrenaline burned throughout her veins and she knew for sure she was going to love this exercise. She was ready.
