Today’s market has been widely dominated by E-Commerce, specifically Shopee and Lazada. It was warmly welcomed by the citizen as part of their new normal. No one can deny the conveniency of the online shopping for the customers, instead of physically going out to buy different kind of things, people can now avail what they want through their phone screens. With the rising crowd of the online platforms, many couriers have joined the scene, namely NinjaVan, BlackArrow, J&T Express and more. Everything was going well – until one viral video surfaced through the internet on June 24, 2020. The video, taken by a random netizen, consisted J&T Express workers handling a number of packages carelessly. This created a huge fire that was feasted by a lot of people. J&T Express was set up in the country in 2018 and was originally from Indonesia. It now offers its services with big brands such as the wellknown online shopping app Shopee. “People paid good money for those packages and paid good money for handling and delivery. This is so unprofessional.” This was rant from a Facebook user named Ian Martinez, expressing his disappointment over the said incident.

Many individuals also gave their negative responses because of the lack of caution displayed by the staffs, however some supporters of the said delivery express defended them saying, “I really trust the service of J&T, this incident was just against thousands of their good deeds. Please give us justice for what your personnel have done to our parcels, we believe that J&T’s management will not tolerate such unruly behaviors.” But at the end of the day, the defenders cannot equalize those who are angry because of the video clip.

“In the event that the parcel is damaged, they can be identified in our facility, be traced and accounted for either in our branches, warehouses and down to the very name of the rider who delivers these parcels to their recipient.” Alampay added in case of future incidents. In the time of pandemic, many people have resorted to online shopping as it is not safe to go outside during these times, but who would want their packages to be mishandled? No one. Delivery teams should ensure that the shipment of products is well taken care of until they finally brought at the customers’ doorstep.
