What is Tezos (XTZ) and how does it work?
Do you still remember the **Initial Coin Offering** or **ICO** boom? This is when thousands of other coins appeared and began raising money like wildfire. And **Tezos** was no exception, raising a whopping $232 million in July 2017.
Tezos went on to persevere the bear market and had a strong year in 2019 which saw the Tezos price breakout to all-time highs of **$3.80** in February 2020.
What is Tezos and how does Tezos work?
Tezos is a smart contract and decentralized application platform.
**Smart contract** is a decentralized contract with the terms of agreement written directly into the code's line. Once the term of the agreement are met, the smart contract can execute based on what is already included in the code.
Smart Contracts are allowed to transact without the use of a third-party. These transactions are trackable and irreversible.
**Tezos** has its own native contract language called **Michelson**.
**Michelson** facilitates formal code verification by mathematically proving the properties of a program such as smart contracts. This sounds a bit circular, but the security improvement helps avoid costly bugs and contentious debates.
Differences of Tezos to other networks
One major difference between Tezos and other smart contract platforms such as the popular **Ethereum** network, is that it is secured and ultimately managed by **Tezos Bakers**.
**Tezos Bakers** are similar to miners in the Bitcoin or Ethereum network. They secure the network, verify transactions, and distribute block rewards.
Instead of using an expensive hardware to mine the blocks, the procedure is done by Tezos **Delegated-Proof-of-Stake** or **DPoS**.
According to stakerewards.com, Bakers earn about 6.37% annually. Tezos (XTZ) holders can qualify to be a Baker as soon as they have 8,000 XTZ, otherwise known as a roll in the Tezos lexicon.
Staking Tezos
If you don't have 8,000 XTZ or don't want to deal with the complexity of Baking, you can still benefit from Tezos staking.
Tezos cryptocurrency holders can also delegate their coins to a Baker and earn between 5-6% per year for Tezos staking, making it one of the highest returns on investment amongst staking coins in cryptocurrency.
But Tezos (XTZ) is more than just a Proof-of-Stake blockchain. Tezos want to be completely upgradable and modular with no needs of any hard forks. And this means that the blockchain of Tezos can make changes in the network without splitting into another chains.
Tezos attempts to solve for disagreements that lead to splits by letting network participants, the bakers, decide on protocol changes via 4 different voting periods.
Only the bakers can cast the vote, so if you delegate XTZ to a baker and don't agree with their stance, you can delegate to a different baker who aligns more with your values. In other words, bakers who don't vote in alignment with the views of those who have delegated their tokens to them, get punished with reduced delegation power as stakeholders delegates elsewhere. This is why Tezos governance is called Delegated-Proof-of-Stake.
In traditional Proof-of-Stake systems, each individual token holder can participate in the governance process. However, with Tezos, bakers cast votes on behalf of the delegated XTZ.
Bakers are also the only Tezos network participants who can propose a protocol upgrade.
How does Tezos voting works?
Tezos voting has 4 phases;
Proposal period
Exploration period
Testing period
Promotion period
The first phase of voting is the proposal period.
Any baker can submit a proposal upgrade or alter the Tezos network.
The most well-received proposal then moves into the exploration period.
If the proposal gets enough votes there, it moves to the testing period.
A testnet is created for each proposal in the testing period to ensure that the proposal is safe, secure and functions properly. A testnet is essentially a sandbox to see the proposed features in action before deciding if they're worth making a part of the protocol.
The fourth and final stage is the promotion period, where if the proposal receives enough votes in the testing period, it is then deployed to the Tezos mainnet. This period requires participation from at least 81.39% of XTZ rolls, which ensures that a majority of the network participants are both participating and in favor of the proposed upgrade.
As you can see, decentralized decision making is a fundamental part of the Tezos network.
You may be asking yourself, this sounds really complicated, does it even work? And the answer is YES! Let's have an example;
In 2019, a Tezos developer group by the name of **Nomadic Labs** proposed that holders should only need 8,000 XTZ to become a baker as opposed to the initial requirement of 10,000 XTZ. This proposal, dubbed Athens A, initially surfaced in February 2019 and took over 3 months of onchain voting before the community ultimately decided to push this proposal to mainnet, a monumental moment for both Tezos and the cryptocurrency community at large.

She fought the Japanese in the battle of Mandili in Candaba Pampanga in the year 1944 and was the leader of the troops against the enemy in Arayat, Pampanga.
Simeona Punsulan-Tapang just recently passed away in 2016.

When Trinidad was 47 years old, she joined the revolutionary army of the Philippines - The Katipunan in the year of 1895.
She helped to aid the guardian civil in capturing ammunition and and firearms. Lately, she decided to make an organization of woman to nurse the sick and wounded Filipino army during the battle with the Spanish army.
She then was called as the "Mother of Biak-na-bato" and "Mother of the Philippine Red Cross" because the Americans recognizes her work as a nurse of the Filipinos.

Marcela Marcelo
When the time the husband of Marcela Marcelo was imprisoned, she decided to join the revolutionary army in order to protect her son. She also lead an army of revolutionary group of Filipinos to fight the colonizers. She was known as "Selang Bagsik" and "Henerala Sela" for its ferocious and bravery.
Marcela was considered as the "woman that's always on fire in the battlefield with on a bolo as her weapon" by Carlos Ronquillo - Secretary of Emilio Aguinaldo.
Unfortunately, she was killed in 1897 during its fight with the Spaniards.

Famously known as "Tandang Sora". Melchora Aquino was just a simple woman that tended some store in a place of Balintawak. But after the Philippine revolution started, he helps her fellow country men by healing the sick and wounded Katipuneros in her house and that was why she was given the name of "The Mother of Katipunan".

The first Filipino woman that leads an army.
**Gabriela Silang** - Famously know as the very first ever woman that leads a Philippine revolutionary movement. Gabriela Silang was the one that leads an army to fight the Spaniards.
Gabriela Silang joined the battlefield after the death of his husband- Diego Silang - who was also a leader of the revolutionary group.
However, she was killed in 1763 after 4 months of leading the army.
His death symbolizes that every Filipino women can also fight for their rights and have the strength.

Personally, this are my ways on how did I stopped smoking;
**Candies** - Yes, candies are good alternative for smoking. The sweetness of it in your mouth makes you feel like you don't like to smoke anymore.
**Think of your love one** - If you care for your family or anyone you love, you don't want them to get sick because of the second hand smoke from you.
**Fully resist yourself** - You must strongly conclude to yourself that whatever happens, you must not smoke again for the safety of you and everyone around you.
Quitting an addiction takes time. You need to have full control over yourself and discipline. With it, it is possible that you can stop that hobby.

In the online world, specifically in the cryptocurrency world, is where lots of scams are running. Investing, fake airdrops, fake accounts and lots of things to mention. So I will share to you how I am avoiding this scams.
How to avoid a scam?
In order for you to avoid a scam and avoid getting scammed, you must do things;
Ask people with wider knowledge - It is very essential to ask anyone who have more knowledge on how things work in the cryptocurrency space especially in investing.
Too good to be true - When you want to invest somewhere, take a look of the possible return of your investment. If it gives very high percentage of the amount you invested, you can notice it already that it is too good to be. So be aware.
Do a research on your own - It is not for eternity that you will just rely to anyone for you to have a good profit. You must learn to have a study and research so can have knowledge on where and when will you put your investment and how risk-free it is.
Reminder to everyone
Cryptocurrency space has a lot of unpredictable events, when you want to invest, only put your extra money and make it is affordable for you to lose when you have entered a scam platform.

In cryptocurrency, everyone has a certain kind of wallets on where they put or storing their assets. These wallets are only digital and can be prone to hacking that's why it is important to know which kind of wallet will you use for holding your cryptocurrency. There are 2 kinds of wallet that everyone using - the custodial and Non-custodial wallets.
What are custodial and Non-custodial wallets?
**Custodial wallet** - From the word itself, a custodial wallet like Binance, Coinex, Kucoin and other exchanges have full custody over the assets you are storing with them. This wallet doesn't have a seed phrase or private which is considered unessential for your assets.
**Non-custodial** **wallet** - This kind of wallet is the most secure kind of which you have private key that only you can gain access to it. Wallets like Trezor, Exodus and Bitcoin.com are considered as Non-custodial wallet because they provide seed phrase or a private key that only yourself know about.
Choosing a kind of wallet is very essential for safetiness of the assets that we have. Just always remember to keep or write down your private key or seed phrase so whenever something bad happen to your device, you can easily restore your wallet together with the cryptocurrency it have. And make sure you are not sending your private key to anyone because when someone can have your private key, they can also have access to your asset.

For everyone in the cryptocurrency world, each will be required to have a wallet for them to store their assets. And a starter in the crypto space, I already have 5 most trusted wallets in my device.

This is the wallet of the country where I am right now. I currently use it to exchange my cryptocurrency to our fiat currency whenever I need money. This wallet can also allow you to exchange different cryptocurrencies. Coinsph wallet support 4 of the major cryptocurrencies;

This wallet is more like of a lending platform where you stake your cryptocurrencies in there and let the platform to lend your assets to a borrower of the platform.

This wallet is one of the most trusted wallet for everyone. But for me, I didn't put any assets there as I only use it to received an airdrop I am participating in.
Bitcoin.com wallet
This is the most wallet I love when storing my crypto, specifically Bitcoin Cash. I use this to store my earnings here in this platform and at the same time use it for swapping to stablecoins when I think the price of BCH will go down then swap it again to BCH when I think BCH' price will go up.

There are thousands of cryptocurrencies out there in the market and all of them visioned themselves to be the most used and known asset. But for myself, there is only one cryptocurrency that will possibly be the most used as a peer-to-peer payment system in the world - and that is **Bitcoin Cash (BCH).**
Why I love Bitcoin Cash?
There are lots of reasons why I am claiming Bitcoin Cash to be the best and used monetary payment in the future:
**Transaction** **fee** **is cheap** - Bitcoin Cash is designed to be a wallet-friendly when making any transactions. With only almost $0.01, if I'm not mistaken, you can make a payment whenever you are in word.
**Faster speed** - This feature of Bitcoin Cash is the most important thing when making a transaction especially for business. It only takes not more than 3 seconds for the receiver to receive the amount of BCH the sender sends to him/her.
**Supported by big men** - Aside from the Bitcoin Cash community that strongly believes in BCH, Bitcoin Cash is also trusted by big different individual like Roger Ver, Marc De Mesel and George Donnelly. This men can be considered as big whales in the market as they can make huge impact for its price.

Why Bitcoin is increasing its value.
The very first ever cryptocurrency that was made and developed in 2009 by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto. It was was the first decentralized cryptocurrency and currently reigning at the top in the cryptocurrency market. The coin I'm talking about is obviously the one and only - **Bitcoin**.

We all care for our security and we know that exchanges are custodial and have custody over our assets if we put it to them. My prediction
If the Flare network will have more projects and adoptions than those with XRP, then I can see a great future with holding the Spark tokens that I will receive. Litecoin's vision to surpass Bitcoin.
Bitcoin was unleashed upon the world over a decade ago and within a couple of years of its release it started to inspire individuals to launch similar projects like **Charlie Lee.**
**Charlie Lee** was one of the former Google engineer who decided to have a split or a fork from Bitcoin and called it **Litecoin** (LTC).
**Litecoin** is similar to Bitcoin, but with a few key differences.
Transaction speed - when it comes to speed, Litecoin wins against Bitcoin. On average, it takes about 10 minutes to confirm a Bitcoin block but Litecoin confirmations come in 4 times faster confirming at 2 and half minutes on average.
Transaction fees - Litecoin's fee only cost $0.0024 for every transaction. While Bitcoin has a median transaction fee of about $0.68.
You got to keep in mind though that these USD estimates shift all the time depending on the underlying value of the asset and other network characteristics. So, while the price in USD may shift, the takeaway here is Litecoin is much cheaper to send than B
Charlie Lee's mission
A key improvement that Charlie Lee wanted to emphasize with the release of Litecoin was its resistance to ASIC mining centralization.
ASIC miners are basically supercomputers that are really expensive, they consume a lot of energy and are out of reach for most people to operate profitably. This leads to big players taking a larger piece of Bitcoin with the little people left out. While Script, Litecoin's mining algorithm did fend off Asec for quite sometime. It eventually fell victim to ASIC mining as manufacturers were able to figure out a way to manufacturer SCRIPT.
Ironically, this has led to Litecoin mining becoming more centralized than Bitcoin mining with just give mining pool accounting for about 70% of Litecoin hash rate.
While Bitcoin's hash rate distribution isn't some decentralized utopia, it's still a bit more decentralized than Litecoin with the top 5 mining pools making up around 60% of Bitcoin's total hash rate.
So while the case can be made that Bitcoin and Litecoin both have pretty centralized mining processes, Bitcoin is slightly less centralized. But again, one of the main reasons for Litecoin's creation was to prevent mining centralization.
Network hash rate comparison
The significance here of network hash rate is that the higher the hash rate is, the more secure the network. This is because if a network has a high hash rate, it's more resistant to a 51% attack. Any attacker would need enough computing power to control more than 50% of the hash rate to even stand a chance, which is not easy.
When your money is on the line, the security of the network is paramount and Bitcoin's hash rate is orders of magnitude higher than Litecoin's.
And that's made Bitcoin is the more secure network.
My say
Even if there already lots of splits or fork in the the Bitcoin network, still Bitcoin is reigning at the top and dominating all of the the other cryptocurrencies. When the current price of $18,935 as of the making of this article, there is none asset that have surpassed Bitcoin's dominance in the field of digital currency.

Pi Network: A great project.
Ever since I started my journey in cryptocurrencies, I have been already looking on this great project, and back then I still don't really understand how things work on them and what really it is.
This project is hot and trendy this year that its community is getting wider and the network is getting popular. So I spent lots of time having research on this one and I realized that it has huge potential and can be profitable in the long run. The project is called the **Pi Network**.
I joined this project on August 2020, and still I have seen lots of people and the members of it asking about what it is and how can it have a good use for everyone.
So I will share everything I learned based on my research about it and everything I know in the crypto space.
What is Pi Network?
Pi Network is a project being developed by the professors in Standford University last year of 2019. The network has its own cryptocurrency called **Pi**.
Pi coin is visioned to be the game changer in the way of how crypto currency is used and how it used.
Although Pi is considered already as a crypto currency, it is not really a fully cryptocurrency because it is not yet tradable and doesn't have a value yet. It is still on its mining stage or in Phase 2 and would be needing to reach Phase 3 for it to be tradable in any exchanges.
Currently, the Pi Network has over 9.5 million users of its application and mining the coin through the application.
Mining Pi coin
When we say '**mining**', we usually think of it as in need of a powerful technology for it to mine a certain cryptocurrency. But Pi Network distinguished that fact by letting its users to mine their coin without the needs of a mining software. Users only need at least 2 seconds everyday to start the mining button then you can freely close the app while you are already mining without have a cost of your battery.
The value of Pi coin
Because the project is still on its development and still in Phase 2, the Pi coin still doesn't have any value yet. But one thing is for sure about it just like any other cryptocurrencies is that when the project are still open for users to mine the coin freely, then it has a high probability that the coin's value will not be that much, but if the network reaches 100 million users or decided to stop the free mining then it will probably have a good value when it will be launched or traded in an exchange.
Withdrawing Pi coin
Just like I mentioned earlier above, the Pi Network would still need to reach 100 million users or decides to step on Phase 3 to be able to withdraw the Pi coin and trade it. So currently, withdrawals of Pi coin is not yet possible and all you have still to do is mine it freely.
Is Pi Network legit or scam?
Since the project doesn't require anyone to send them any amount of money and doesn't take too much of our time, then I think it would be safe to try it out. And one thing is the concept of their project is really great which I that it will be worth it of using 2 seconds everyday to them just to start mining.

Let's summarize what I have researched about Pi for easier understanding:
Pi Network developers are the professors of Standford University.
Pi coin is a new cryptocurrency but still not a full cryptocurrency.
Mining Pi doesn't need any technology and doesn't take much of your battery.
It doesn't have any value yet and still not withdrawable and need to reach Phase 3 for it to be possible.
It is not a scam because we don't need to send any amount to the network for us to mine their coin.
Conclusion

Knowing Bitcoin Cash and why I am loving it.
I initially started knowing more about crypto currency on August of this year 2020, more than 3 months ago, and knowing a lot of it was an amazing experience. And since then, I keep on trying to learn more about it and how does it work.
I was amazed about how the price of some crypto currency is so volatile that it had already its all-time high then dump and then surge high again like Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
Knowing Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Since Bitcoin (BTC) is the most known crypto among all the crypto currencies, it is more exposed to get attraction from newbie or someone who doesn't have any knowledge about crypto currency, and I am one of those people who got attracted to Bitcoin.
After knowing Bitcoin, I then find ways to earn free crypto currency or Bitcoin to be exact. I have tried a lot of free faucets, free mining and even investing in a high yield investment platforms (HYIP) just to have experience about it, and fortunately I haven't got scammed yet.
One of the free faucets I love and where I am getting more crypto currency is the free faucets called **Coinpot** - it has 7 different faucets where you can claim different crypto currencies every 5 mins.
Everytime when I think that I already reached the minimum withdrawal for Bitcoin, I always convert all of the other crypto that I have claimed to Bitcoin, including Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
Since I've been learning so much about Bitcoin, I then tried to expand my horizon and tried to learn other crypto currency. And what caught my curiosity next is Bitcoin Cash.
I learned that Bitcoin Cash was a successful hard fork of Bitcoin and being supported by a strong community and big whales like Roger Ver and Marc De Mesel. Though its all-time high was more than $3,000 and currently the price is around $290 at the time of writing this article, the strong support from the BCH community was telling that someday it will surpass Bitcoin and will be the world's digital payment system.
What I learned about Bitcoin?
Bitcoin was developed in 2009
It was developed by an uncertain someone that is called Satoshi Nakamoto.
Bitcoin is decentralized, means no one is in or can control the price of it.
Bitcoin is the King of all Crypto.
Why I am loving Bitcoin Cash (BCH) more than Bitcoin (BTC)?
The fact that the transaction speed for receiving Bitcoin is very slow and a very high fee of sending it is what I hate the most and might be the reason for its downfall and other crypto might replace it for its dominance, and that would be clearly **Bitcoin Cash (BCH)**, the one who can potentially take it.
Here are some reasons why I think it will and also the reasons why I am loving Bitcoin Cash (BCH);
**Transaction speed** - the speed for sending and receiving BCH is way more faster than BTC. As for my experience, the time that will take for receiving the BTC in my wallet usually take 5-6 hours, while in BCH in only takes not more than 5 seconds. That's thousand times faster.
**Transaction fees** - this one is the most annoying for me and I know also for everyone. The last time I checked for sending BTC, the fee was around $4-5 and that is not considerable for a small time crypto lover like me. But not BCH, transacting BCH will only cost you not more than $0.05 for Evey transactions. And that is a thousand times cheaper than BTC.
Bitcoin Cash for the future
I know I'm not the expert one to say this, but with the research I made for myself, I can say that Bitcoin Cash (BCH) will take over Bitcoin in the future. With the strong support of the BCH community and the great projects that BCH is being included, it's not impossible for BCH to be the world's digital payment for everyone.
Final statement
As I do strongly believe in Bitcoin Cash (BCH), I recently bought some BCH to hold it long term. I know this one is not risky as BCH is meant to be at the top of all crypto currencies.

You might be curious about my username, but it was because I am still learning everything about crypto currencies.
Learning crypto currency
I just recently knew about crypto currency, to be specific, Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). I met interesting facts and probabilities about crypto currencies when I was browsing somewhere in the internet and read something about it.
The article was about the sudden growth of Bitcoin and how famously it is becoming now throughout the world. At the time of creating this introduction article, the price of Bitcoin is running around $19,200-19,300, which is amazingly high for a single currency.
Earning crypto
Because I was so amazed about the facts that most of the currency in the crypto world might surge it's price higher just like Bitcoin, I decided to find ways on how to earn some crypto currencies.
Currently, I earn little by little in crypto by;
**Mining** - I am using a browser that mine Bitcoin while you surf or use the browser. It is not a great amount it is already good enough for starters like as it doesn't cost so much battery in my device. The browser is called CryptoTab Browser. It is only easy, just open the browser tab of the mining page then you are good to go and browse anywhere.
**Faucets** - Because I am so eager to earn some crypto currency, I also signed up in a crypto sites where you can claim different crypto currencies in a period of time. The faucets I use is a famous faucets site called Coinpot.
Coinpot has 7 faucets where you can claim free crypto currency. Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are included, to name a few.
**Investing in site** - I also enjoy in an investing site or called hyip. With just $1-5, I can invest it and sometimes had a return of 120-200% of my initial investments. I know, this one is a very risky way to earn in crypto, and it is not recommended for everyone who can't take the risk and can't afford to lose money. However, $1-5 is an amount I can afford, so I'm into it.
How I end up here?
Because I am the type of someone who loves to explore everything in something I am interested of, I tried to check this platform when I saw a post on Twitter that with just writing an article, anyone can get paid when someone tip it/your article.
So, without hesitations, I immediately look what is inside here and I was amazed about different contents about crypto, which is perfectly what I am looking for.
So, after signing up, I still don't know what to write as I still have little knowledge about how the features work here. But I will be good, just a little time and I will learn everything here.
My expectations
Because the main reason why I am here was to look and read informative contents and to get tipped with the articles I will write in the future, I am hoping and expecting to everyone here to be considerable whenever I did something not good.
