Splinterlands Review and Experience

There are a lot of opportunities in the crypto-verse and I have already tried some of them such as trading, staking, and lending your assets to earn and increase your income. However, there is still one thing that I want to try and it is crypto-gaming.

Honestly, gaming is not my forte. I used to play games but it wasn't what I wanted. I enjoyed playing them but after a few minutes, I felt bored. I can't stay longer with them because I found it a waste of time.

However, for the last two months, the demand for crypto-gaming increased together with the “boom” of NFTs. There are Axie Infinity, My Defi Pet, Alice, and Splinterlands of course.

Among these games, I chose Splinterlands. Seeing the massive support of the players from the beginning makes the game stronger for the long run, its foundation and roadmap speak louder. The projects and other features are satisfying.

Additionally, the initial investment on this game is affordable, unlike other games that you need to spend a lot excluding the fees. I feel that they are not worth it, unlike Splinterlands.

I bought a Spellbook last September 6, 2021, using Bitcoin cash, unfortunately, after purchasing the book, it didn't arrive (unlocked the cards) on my account so I thought I wasted my $10. I waited for 2 days but there is no news from them

Days passed (September 8, 2021) I sent an email to them hoping to make the book active, but still no response from them. I even tried Discord but the same thing happened. So, I tried to message them on Twitter, thanks to @PVMihalache for suggesting this. Luckily, they replied.

The Twitter account immediately responded, they said to wait for a few more days about the email that I sent to them regarding the concern. So, I waited for more days. On September 11, 2021, I received an email from them.

The conversation went smoothly, they only asked for the username and further instructions. After a few hours, they sent an email again saying that “it should be fine now” so I checked my account.

It took more days before it arrived but I was still lucky to be fixed. So far, the gameplay runs smoothly. However, I only have issues with their application because it is too slow compared to their website.

I need to turn on the Desktop Site first to have a better user interface when you are playing on their site (if you are using a mobile phone). On the other hand, if you are using their application, it has a better user interface the only problem is it runs slower compared to the site.

How are the earnings? Is it worth it?

Honestly, I can't tell it right now. As of now, I am only earning a few Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) per game. I think the reason behind this is my rank, the game is hard, is it me or the game? I always lose in the fight. However, I also have won in the game. The problem is, the rank is going down when you are lost and as a result, my rank is the lowest haha Bronze III sometimes, novice.

As of now, I am still exploring the game when I have free time. I am familiarizing myself with the cards that I have. The cards were from the spellbook and loot chests. Doing objectives is important to claim the chest and win something.

One thing that I need to learn is to choose the right cards to play, is there any counter-attack on every splinter? For example fire vs water, the latter will have an advantage. Haha.

Also, the potions, I don't know the purpose of the potions.

Conclusion

To sum these up, I am still a novice in this game. The only thing that I can say is don't rely on the earnings that you receive especially if you are still a newbie. I am playing this game just to refresh my mind, it is an addictive game. The earnings are just a bonus. However, if I have huge earnings, maybe I will push it.

The investment is $10 to buy a spellbook, better to invest at your own risk and learn about it first. You can still play it for free, however, you will not earn as well. Playing it for free seems like training, ask yourself if it is worth it then decide.
