How To Earn More Interest By Staking $CUB?

24 84

It is almost 4 months when I published the tutorial about staking your $CUB in CubDefi. Since then, I totally forgot my staked $CUB and it is shocking because I got more cub in that short span.

👉Read this to know how to stake your $CUB in Dens.

There's a lot of updates in CubDefi, it has auto-compounding before but it is not available now. However, they released another pool where you can earn more interest because of its auto-compounding feature plus its higher APY interest, Welcome to the Kingdom!

How to stake your $CUB in Kingdom?

This is a great opportunity for us as a holder to earn interest while holding assets. Yet, it is also risky because it is like we are not holding our coins because we are holding it on the dApps, it has a higher risk.

Disclaimer: This is only a tutorial, everything written on this blog is not a financial advice.

Photo #1

Let us use this photo for visualization of the whole tutorial. This photo was captured through screenshot.

Firstly, you need to visit cubdefi.com using your wallet like Trustwallet, SafePal, Metamask and et cetera.

This is what I have earned for more than three months for holding 15 CUBs. I harvested it all first and include it on my holdings.

Please refer to Photo #1

  1. I unstaked my 15 CUB in Dens by clicking the minus (-) sign.

  2. Click Max then...

  3. Confirm.

  4. Click the three horizontal lines on the upper left corner of your screen (Cubdefi.com interface) and choose Kingdom.

  5. After that, find the option where you can stake your CUB then click Deposit.

  6. As what you can see, I have 18 CUB because the interest was also included on my deposit.

  7. Then click Confirm.

  8. You need to click Approve Contract and you are done.

In staking your CUB in Kingdom, you will have more or less 90% APY and it is higher than the interest percentage that you will earn in Dens pool. Also, since we are talking about APY, you will earn more than of it because it will auto-compound on your initial deposit.

How the APY works?

It is important for us to know the difference between APR and APY. We always heard of these two but we don't know which is better. Thus, we will explain it in simple terms and in interest rate.

To understand it more, let us use this photo for illustration.

As what you can see on the photo, you will earn more interest if you will compound your interest on your savings. The green represents as no compounding which is lower than the interest earned in savings with compounding.

FinancialDictionary states that compounding occurs when your investment earnings or savings account interest is added to your principal, forming a larger base on which future earnings may accumulate. As your investment base gets larger, it has the potential to grow faster.

Since APY will automatically compound your interest, thus, it will makes more difference compared to APR.

In this illustration, the line below is the graph of APR while lines above are based on APY. It is more growth in APY!

Conclusion

In conclusion, staking your CUB in Kingdom is more profitable than staking in Dens. It is giving more interest which is more than 90% APY—it is changing—compared to Dens which has only 66% APR that is also changing.

Furthermore, it will makes your holding grow more because of its auto-compounding feature.

Now, the question is:

Did I get a profit in holding my CUB in Dens for more than 3 months? The answer is yes, but it is like break-even. Why?

In unstaking my CUB in Dens, I paid more or less $1.50 for fee for deposit, harvest and approving the contract.

  • $0.32

  • $0.35

  • $0.97

On the other hand, since I earned more than $2, I still got a profit. Knowing that I didn't do anything I just hold it. Gain is gain!

Nevertheless I am still in loss in CUB because I bought 1 CUB at a price of an approximately $3 and its price is now on ≈$0.60. It is normal after all. I think I need to take advantage of it by buying more and stake it in Kingdom to earn more interest.

At last, this statement is to remind you that this is not a financial advice. Staking your assets in dApps is risky. Thus, you need to do more research before doing it.

I'll have to read this in further detail....I really wish there was a DM option here on read.cash so I could speak to you directly. I want to plug my BCH into something that earns interest like this, but I haven't yet found the right option. hrmmmmm

Thank you for upvotes! You can put your BCH in Nexo or Celcius to earn interest but it is very risky because it is custodial. I haven't encountered a dApps that has BCH yet. Maybe the smartBCH can help.
