What are your opinions about the conduction of online and modular class?
I interviewed my family members about this topic. This is one of our country’s current event issue, and their responds are their opinions about the online and modular class happening this school year 2020-2021.
My sister, which is also studying but in online, is the first one I interviewed; her opinions are all negative. She said, “it’s like they are just forcing the conduction of the online and modular class for this batch just so they can say that there are no waste of time or year and the youth are still learning while in quarantine, but the truth is everyone is still not ready for this kind of studying.” she added "We may comply to all requirements but that does not mean we are learning i cant even recall what was the last lesson we had. At this point we are just complying for grades and not for the knowledge we have learnt".
The next one who answered is my mother, it’s also negative. Her opinion is, “for me, children or students are not learning in modular and online. They are just getting tired and tired every single day it gives the children mental exhaustion and and the only thing they get for not having enough rest is anxiety, worried if they are doing enough or if they would be able to finish this semester. Because of the activities that are waiting for them we can no longer enjoy moments with our children and online class give us less family time, same goes to the teachers. The obligations multiplied, even though they really don’t understand what’s in their modules because it is a self-learning type and there’s no one to teach it clearly” she said.
Third one to answer is my father who is busy watching television but still managed to give his opinion about the topic. “I can’t seem to find the benefits of this nonsense conduction" he said. "it will only give stress to every child out there doing their best to submit and have a high grade yet there’s no knowledge entering their brain, it just doesn't make sense specially when the teacher and professor will just give out random grades and not based on the effort of the students. This is clearly a bad idea. I just hoped they just waited until the pandemic is over so everyone will not suffer physically and mentally and just live normal at time like this” my father added and just like my sister and mother his opinion is also negative.
Last one is my oldest sister that has a work from home job, “Online class is just an addition to the family’s expenses, unfortunate family who have a child that wanta to attend class were force to get wifi or worse buy load everyday just so they can attend class, and even the students that has a internet connection were not exempted to the teacher wrath when they had a slow connection, believe it or not some teacher are not so considerate to the students. It is not helpful, yes the students are safe from the pandemic but are they safe from the radiation that is coming out from the gadgets needed in the online class or are they safe at all?, Imagine all the stress that online class that had given them all the tears they have shed just because they can't understand the last topic but is crucial just because they have a quiz on that specific topic. I don’t think they are really thinking about the students at all when they decided to have this online class, if so, they shouldn’t have conducted it. Stress, anxiety, depression is some of the result that students can get from this, it can also lead to suicide just like what happened to those students who is learning trough online and modular class that didn’t handle the situation well. Deciding carelessly have a regretful result” she said
My thought
I as one of the student who are attending the online can agree to my family's response in this issue. Not only did Department of Education ignores the students complain, they just keep adding stress tho those students that are already suffering because they chose to keep the online class working and not hear any opinion that the students were saying. Cutting of some holidays and even shortening the summer vacation just because we are at home? I mean what kind of nonsense is that. We want to have our holidays and semester breaks not only because of the School works but also because we want to spend time with our family. When the online class started i notice that i spend a lot of time doing things like my activities and homeworks and i spend less time with my family, every dinner i am always not in the table with them because of my school work which is so frustrating. Online class is not only ineffective but it is also causing lots of damage to the students which leads to some unfortunate events. I hope that sooner or later they will realize the ineffectiveness and just stop this whole online class thing and wait till everything goes back to normal, in that way we can really learn and have a great time with our family and friends.
Online class is really hard, and I agree to your siblings saying that we cannot even recall what was our last topic. But everything happens for a reason, although it is exhausted, we have still the chance to enroll or not; It's our choice to continue or not.
