How the pandemic and the Indian government killed the economy

0 8

As you may already be aware, India is a very poor country with huge income disparity. A huge portion of the population lives under extreme poverty. The government right now has basically zero cares about the economy. They will remain in power anyways, thanks to propaganda and pandering to the general public by scapegoating Muslims (Yes, that's something a good amount of people seem to like here, enough to have them win the elections with an overwhelming majority).

Economy in the country has been on the decline since quite some time already but this pandemic is gonna absolutely destroy it. The worst thing? It's not just the pandemic's fault, not only is the government doing jackshit about it, they are rather making the situation worse. No stimulus packages. No relief packages by the central government, either. Now, I understand the logistics of doing something like that in a country with a population of 1.3 billion people is bar impossible.

Except the problem is that instead of helping the people, the government is blowing up funds and racking in the donations for themselves. There is something called PM cares fund here and during this pandemic celebrities and other rich people have donated some ludicrous amounts to it. When the PM was asked about why that fund isn't being used, he had no answer. He refused any investigations about it too. Simply put: It's gone.

Like I said before, this government is all distractions and nothing they do is actually for the betterment of the people. So continuing the fashion, tomorrow military will fly planes and the route will cover every direction of the country. Can you imagine how much that would cost? They could have instead used all that money to help out doctors and stuff. But no. This will be distracting enough for their job to be done.

The PM and the President are also buying their own planes, worth $1.2 billion. Another absolute waste of money when the economy is like this. And don't get me started on something that happened a little earlier, they built a pointless and useless statue that cost $430 million.

So yeah, this government is basically full of shit and do no real work except for throwing distractions at the general public. I fear for the future, once this pandemic shit subsides, an irreparable state of economy will be all that's left.

Thanks for reading, spread this so that more people get to know about the reality of the current government.

Wow. It sounds much like South Africa under previous leadership of Jacob Zuma. Hopefully Cyril can repair the damage left behind. Who are the people voting for there? Are elections fair?

People here are voting for Narendra Modi. He has got a HUGE cult following. We call his fans "Bhakts". They are ready to do anything and everything the PM asks them to do and they will never question him either, such is his charisma and speaking skills.

Elections COULD be rigged, we are not sure. The electric voting machine (EVM) has identified flaws but it is still a herculean task to hack enough EVMs to make a difference. So I am more inclined to believe that people genuinely vote for him.

Also, where I am, New Delhi (the capital), the state level government here was formed with overwhelming majority against the current central government party. So that's kinda more proof that EVM tampering is kinda impossible to pull off properly (because otherwise they would have won). Oh and just to add, the government in my city is currently like the only government that is actually doing genuine work and no religious bullshit, wish they can expand to other parts of the country too.

Thank you @kyouma29 for sharing this information. Personally, I had never known that India is twin-sister of Nigeria. "Look, religion, ethnicity and population have nothing to do negatively in any government provided those constituting it are serious and have plans for the citizenry".

It's actually a tactic many governments around the world have been exploiting, sadly. It's easy to sway people like that. I once remember reading somewhere that if the ruler gives allows belittlement of a minority, ones being ruled will then feel distracted and 'good' enough to not ever try revolting.

I have read about the currency reform of india two years ago, when they suprisingly forced people to change one of their bank notes to a different type. That event probably eroded the trust in the indian government for the next 50 years or so.

Yeah that happened and yet the government won back again anyways because a very specific event happened after that. It was a terrorist attack and the government retorted to it so it won back people's trust. I would rather not go into details about it as it's a rather sensitive matter which I don't feel like talking about.

That is SO MUCH WRONG information. The article is clearly very biased. Indian government is saving the lives of people by shutting down the economy and keeping people first unlike USA where they are ok to sacrifice people to start the economy. Please don't believe all this wrong propoganda by this poster. Many world leaders and greats like Bill Gates have praised the PM of India that he is the best leader India has ever seen!

Here comes one of the government's propaganda bots, eh?

Imagine calling the PM "the best leader India has ever seen" when not too long ago he and his party launched a law directly violating the constitution by discriminating between Muslims and other religions.

I will just say this much as I don't feel like it's worth feeding the troll any more than that.

This response is for all the people whom you are trying to fool, not for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acIEo7Q29rk there are many such moments when Bill Gates and other world leaders really praised Modi for being a great leader!

And that proves nothing? I am not sure why you even posted that, some rich guy's opinion isn't the truth.

If you want to prove something, post objective information instead (and as a retort to you calling my stuff fake info, I have edited in the sources, check the article again)

All the articles you shared are from the extremely left leaning media who obviously hate Modi because he exposes their bias. I can send you a 1000 more articles which are more neutral in their opinion.

The PM of India was elected democratically and the people have given him a thumping majority and a clear mandate through the same voting machines that elected your favorite officials as well. So don’t spread fake news about EVMs etc being rigged in India.

If you don’t like India there are other nations you can move to. Don’t need to spread fake news on the internet.

Ah yes, the sources I listed are obviously wrong because they don't lick the government's boots.

Also, what? I never said EVM tampering happened? Stop with the wrong accusations. I rather said that I am more inclined to believe EVM tampering didn't happen. I was only talking about the possibility of the elections being rigged because someone asked me about it. I was just giving a fair, objective reply there, rather than straight up denying that the possibility exists, I considered it. Regardless of the conclusion being that it most likely didn't happen.

Maybe it's time that you go back and review your info, wrong-sider.
