Hey everyone! Hope you are doing well.

There are thousands of courses and hundreds of playlists on youtube that will take you from begineer to a pretty decent level Python programmer.

Internet is so so vast and with so much content it is kinda overwhelming when you search for "Good python programming courses" and search engine bombards you with hundreds of results where every single website has its own unique course. I have provided few websites that offers free Python tutorial and as a cherry on top, they also provide certificates provided you score enough marks in assignment and the final exam.

Without further ado, Here's the list. Happy Learning!!!

  • Saylor Academy

Michael J. Saylor is a business executive and he is the one who founded the Saylor Academy. He is the sole trustee of the academy. The site provides free learning to anyone anywhere in the world. Completing the final exam with more than 70% score is the only requirement to earn the certficate.

You can also earn college credit by passing a direct credit final exam under the supervision of exam proctor by paying a little fees.

As their site reads: "Saylor Academy is a nonprofit initiative working since 2008 to offer free and open online courses to all who want to learn. We offer nearly 100 full-length courses at the college and professional levels, each built by subject matter experts. All courses are available to complete — at your pace, on your schedule, and free of cost."

Check out their Python course here.

  • LearnPython.org

Learnpython.org is an interactive python tutorial. It is intended for everyone who wants to learn Python. Whether you are a begineer or a pro Python programmer, you will be able to takeaway some knowledge (and a certificate).

To get the certificate, you will head on to Learnx.org after completing the tutorial on learnpython. Their certificates usually cost a hefty sum; however, they are providing free certificate to anyone who completes all the assignment with a total average score more than or equal to 90%.

  • FreeCodeCamp

Another great website for learning anything from Web Development to Machine Learning. They are completely non profit and their only earnings come from donations. What is so great about them is that to complete the course and earn youur certificate, you will have to actually code and solve real world problems instead of standard MCQ exams.

Successful completion of course entirely depends on you. Course curriculum has great videos but they won't be enough to solve the problems. Instead you will have to do the hard-work.

    Link to their Python course.

  • CognitiveClass

Formerly known as Big Data University and provided to you by IBM. The website contains many courses related to machine Learning and Data Science. They provide badge and certificates for free provided you pass the assignment. Every single course provided on the site is free.

    Link to their Python course.

So these were some of the websites where you can learn python for free and treat yourself with a certificate. I just want to make it clear that there is no official python certification. However, these are the ones that I have completed myself and really liked. Happy learning!!!!

not trying to be rude but can you point out which one of the link is a scam??? Saylor academy is non profit. Freecodecamp is also non-profit. Cognitive class is from IBM and they provide verified badge. LearnX provides cerification for python developer and are giving a limited offer. I have certification from all of them. None of them asked for any document or credit card or money or anything other than an email-id and a name.

Linkedin for Saylor Academy: https://www.linkedin.com/school/saylor-academy/

Wiki page for FreeCodeCamp: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeCodeCamp The site is completely dependent on donations (they dont force you to donate). All of their courses can be viewed on their youtube channel for free.

Here's an IBM page where they provide a link to CognitiveClass as a learning resource for Data Science: https://www.ibm.com/skills/students

As for LearnPython, they are supported by DataCamp which is a well-known site for online courses and from the certification price they charge (which is free as of now if you score >90%).

None of these sites are scam. However, they are not well-known which was part of the reason I wrote this article. They offer no rewards for promotion and I shared their Homepage link and link to the courses. The links can be checked to have no referral code attached whatsoever. I would humbly suggest you to visit the site and check whether they are genuine or not.

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22https%3A%2F%2Fwww.saylor.org%2F%22 8 results

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22https%3A%2F%2Fwww.learnpython.org%22 3 results

i have never said they are scam, i told the links look like scam.

so here's the thing. When you search on google or any other search engine, if you enclose your query in double quotes it will show you result with exact match....

For example: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22https%3A//www.ibm.com%22 It yields only 5 result and IBM is a legit tech company...

Instead try searching "Saylor Academy": https://www.google.com/search?q=saylor%20academy It yields 14,30,000 results...

and for Learnpython.org: https://www.google.com/search?q=LearnPython.org It yeilds 51,60,000 results.

And you shouldn't google the whole URL i.e. "https://www."....

Also as I mentioned earlier, I have simply copy/pasted the links of the website Homepage as the tiltle, and at the end there is link to their respective python course page
