School Blog #3: Preparing For Our First Face-to-face Class After 2 Years Of Online Classes.
February 05, 2022.
It's the 5th day of February 2022 but this is still my first blog/article of the month because the past few days has been very busy for me as we had encountered multiple conflicts in our subjects and outputs needed to pass before our grade evaluation and OJT meeting.
Some major problems emerged like few of our classmates asking to join in a group for our Thesis project but most groups won't allow or accept them because as we all know Thesis is a very conflict one and those classmate of ours will just be receiving final outputs without even giving any help - and yes most groups won't allow it, even my group.
First Face-to-face on February 07-11, 2022.
I have mentioned in my first blog that we will have our first face-to-face classes on the 2nd week of January 2022, however, things changed so fast because our province was announced to be in Level 5 in danger of the new variant of virus called Omicron. So our University announced the cancellation of face-to-face classes and moved it on another day which is on February 07-11, 2022.
As I am writing this blog, we are only 2 days away before our scheduled face-to-face (for Business Administration Students) and as one of the students and living nearly 20 kilometers away from the University, I need to find and to be in a rented room 1 day before the class began because it will be very hard for me and will cost me so much if I commute and pay 2$ fare per ride just to go to the University and going back home.
Right now, I am preparing the things I needed in my rented room such as my rice cooker, heater, bed things (something to sleep on like pillow and blanket), necessities like soaps shampoos and of course things I needed to wear. And talking about something to wear, our first face-to-face meeting requires our new uniform to attend the class, however I still don't have because of my financial conflicts and will probably just wear white t-shirt, hopefully the school guard will let me in.
Things I Need To Do While In My Boarding House.
We have a class schedule from February 7 to 11 but our section's class will be on the 11th which could mean I have a vacant days, but no.
Though it looks like a vacant days, it will really be a busy day because we have major things need to do like;
Make a presentation video about the pandemic.
Visit our Instructors to ask for our grades that was missing on the system.
Finishing our Thesis, or worst, redo it.
Meeting with Evaluators.
And more things that I couldn't remember currently. Those mentioned above were just few of the major things we need to settle before to be eligible in the OJT this coming second semester.
Problems I Currently Have For This Face-to-face.
To be real, I don't really have that much problems before but a lot of things changed so fast that I ended up realizing that I have huge problems just like everyone has - financial needs.
I was already prepared, like totally prepared for the money I need to make my OJT uniform, money need to pay my rent, allowance in my my boarding house and for some side expenses. But things didn't want to go on my way and some personal problems hits us likes my pig business was hit with a sickness and I needed to spend my money on or else I will lose the business. Right now I am doing good and trying to recover, which I know I will and it's just a matter of time.
Another thing is the monthly debt I needed to pay that really cost me a lot, especially that I currently need money as a student. My monthly debt for our washing machine cost me $19 per month, electricity bill for around $15 and I will not just talk about our daily expenses could it's a lot way more especially that I have a bad habit.
Final Say.
Currently, everything is really hard for me. I have a brother and a sister that is also currently in college and I am obliged to support their needs especially this needy times of pandemic. Their expenses is my expenses, and it's really hard to adjust because I am a graduating student who's in need of money yet with a 3x expenses in school. I know this is just temporary and I will get through it. It just a matter of time and perseverance.
