(Will you accept this tattoo challenge for 1788USD?) An April Fools' Joke Gone Wrong with a Twist ***I know most of you heard or knew about "April Fools Day" which is traditionally an occasion for making pranks, playing tricks or general silliness and celebrated on the first day of April, annually. You might also like to know a theory about April Fool's Day where jokes are customarily meant to end at precisely noon (12 noon sharp on April 1st), anyone pulling a practical joke after midday is deemed the "April Fool."*** Some of you may have been one of the victims of April Fools' Day, or you may be someone who likes to play practical jokes and tricks on your loved ones for fun. But what if your APRIL FOOL'S JOKE GOES TERRIBLY WRONG? I would like to share with you guys one of the biggest April Fools' prank circulating recently around on social media, especially in the Philippines where a Filipino vlogger/businessman posted a photo challenge on his Facebook page, offering the chance to win Php 100,000 (or the equivalent of ***1788.795 US dollars***) by getting their business logo ***"Taragis Takoyaki"*** tattooed on your forehead. The first person to submit a proof of their tattoo will win. The text **"CLICK THE PHOTO FOR OFFICIAL RULES"** is located in the lower portion of the posted photo. When you click the photo, a capitalized statement stating that it is an April Fools' joke will show up. Unfortunately, one male Filipino citizen executed the challenge and took it seriously, which prompted business page to post protests, stating that ***"Taragis Takoyaki"*** is not responsible for the events that transpired and highlighting the importance of reading comprehension for everyone. This April fool's prank tattoo issue triggered almost all Filipino citizen where people are holding "Taragis" accountable for their actions and emphatize Mang Ramil, a man desperate to have a good life and willingly participated in the challenge in order to finance his kid's tuition and to support his youngest child, who has Down Syndrome. According to concern citizens, Taragis are definitely liable since there are still people unaware of April Fools Day and April 1 is a normal calendar day in Philippine Law. But because Mang Ramil was surrounded by kindhearted Filipinos, blessings began to flood in when these business owners extended financial assistance. Takoyaki shop "Taragis" faced online backlash but they quickly erased the negative judgement of netizens by releasing a video in which they visited Mang Ramil and his family and gave them the necessary Php 100,000 on April 2, 2024. To sum up, the most shocking discovery that caused confusion to the netizens is their revelation that the April Fools' **"tattoo disaster"** that went viral on social media was scripted and elaborately planned. The owner of the business stated on the video of revelation that they thought of the idea as early as April Fools' Day in 2023 with the hope of creating some noise and buzz for his Takoyaki Brand. Meaning, the tattoo was completed last 2023 and Mang Ramil was the first person who voluntarily took the challenge in exchange of Php 100,000 prior to April Fools Day. In other words, April Fool's Tattoo Prank, which had gone viral was a planned **"marketing stunt"** of the said Takoyaki Shop. CONCLUSION: The main intention of Taragis was to make a script to fool all of us for the purpose of making their business name popular online and to gain millions of likes and followers. It was a business deal between Mang Ramil and the businessman/vlogger, it was not a charity, he wasn't begging, he did it and got his effort's worth. The heart touching part of this story whether it is planned or unplanned prank, there is an unselfish father who can sacrificed his dignity and fearlessly faced and endured the pain to help his family financially for a small amount of money. I believe that poverty was the main reason of Mang Ramil to pursue this challenge. Sad to think that there are entrepreneurs, vloggers, and influencers today consider this state of poverty as a chance or an opportunity to market their brands, garner millions of views and followers, make large sums of money, and boost their popularity in the hopes of making noises online and sadly by fooling people. I hope this will serve a lesson for us not to quickly trust on what we see in social media. Some are bait for their own interest. Be wise before you type. ***"What is your comments/opinion about this April Fool's Prank gone wrong with a twist? "Are you willing to accept the challenge?"***
Ashes of Memories ***Have you ever found it difficult to let go of something you once cherished? Something full of wonderful memories you don't want to let go of. Something that when you look at it, makes you smile bigger until it no longer cheers you up but instead makes you cry.*** Unexpected events abound in life. You're happy today but now tomorrow. It was full of joy at first, but then it vanished without warning. The genuine smile you used to see from the person you love begins to fade. Eyes no longer reflect love, compassion, and appreciation; instead, his stares became cold. You used to love me but now you treat me as a stranger. His feelings changed as well as him. July 2021, we officially parted up. I tried and tried and tried till the end of the year to save all that had been lost, including myself. I'm hoping you'll miss me and that you'll come back. Until I became so empty and exhausted from pleading which you always ignored. So I decided to stop and start focusing on myself, bringing back the happiest and most energetic version of myself, as well as my passions, which offer me genuine joy. I recall the night when I made the decision to wait until the end of the year, but if we're not meant for each other, I will let go completely and erase you from my life. That's why, despite the fact that all I got was ignorance and rejection, I took the chances. I know I made the right decision because now, I even have no little regrets in my heart. I already gave it my all till I was exhausted. In the first three months after we broke up, I used to look over our pictures together, gifts, and letters, which were full of memories we had shared for one and a half years even though it was so painful for me. When Typhoon Jolina hit last September, our house was completely flooded. I tried to save it as quickly as I could because I couldn't bear losing it. Then, in the first week of January 2022, I moved to another room in our house, which had previously been my brother's room and I had to fix and pack all of my things. I looked at it one last time, trying to figure out whether I was still affected or if I was still missing you, but I wasn't. I no longer found calmness when I see you, I can now finally let go of you, not miss you, and not be bothered by your name when I heard it. I'm completely healed from the past. Now, it's alright for me to burn all those things that were full of memories between us and erase you from my life entirely. I don't know but as time goes by, I realized everything, and then one day, my feelings for him were already gone. I promised myself that once I was healed and before I accept someone again in my life, I would let go of everything. The important lesson I've learned from the past is the best way to fully recover is to learn how to let go of what is heavy and trust in God to make a way. At first, I attempted to battle alone, doing whatever I wanted without considering the consequences of my actions because all I follow is myself. But it wasn't until I started to surrender all my worries to God, cry them out then focus on how to become the better version of myself. Looking back on the past, I can see how much stronger I have become in enduring all the sufferings I've faced. There are truly better plans stored for us behind all the struggles that we should overcome. If you're in a current situation where you're on the edge of giving up in life because you can't seem to get rid of agony, cry it all out. It's okay not to be okay. It's fine to be exhausted, but you should rest rather than quit. Your feelings are valid, you aren't being dramatic. It's okay to call someone you can trust and run to if that will make you feel better. I want to remind you, that you will understand and realized everything as time passes by. Always remember what God has promised to us, Romans 8:18; "The pain you've been feeling can't compare to the joy that is coming."
Truth of Life ***The beauty of growing up is realizing what really matters in life....*** I remember as a child desperately wanting to grow up quickly and become an adult so that I could do whatever I wanted without being restricted by my parents. But, as I get older, I see how difficult and complicated life can be. Sometimes I just want to be a kid again, running around outside with my friends and being overjoyed when I got my favorite barbie to play with. Despite the fact that I am still young back then, I am aware that our family is poor. While I saw my friends get every toy they wished for from their parents, every time I asked for mine, my parents felt sorry for not being able to give me what I desired. I remember I used to believe in Santa Claus when I was a child. I used to watch a television that shows if we wanted something for Christmas, we should hang a sock with the wish letter inside it the night before Christmas day and Santa Claus will grant our wish. I used to do it as a kid in the hopes that Santa Claus would read my wish and grant it. I'm always excited to wake up on Christmas morning to check my sock, but I'm always disappointed and sad. When I asked my parents, they told me that Santa might not be able to visit our house. Reminiscing on those memories from the past made me smile wide because I realized I believed what they had told me before. hahaha! I have no idea that Santa Claus is also my parents. Although I had never received any Christmas gifts before, my mother would always buy me a new dress to wear on Christmas day and I'm very happy and contented about it. My parents are the most wonderful people in the world to me. Life is not as simple as I imagined it to be when I was younger. Growing up is never easy. It's not always about joy and success. Unlike before, you can simply wish for a toy and it will be yours. But now being an adult, you must strive for something you want to achieve in life. As I grew older, I had the opportunity to witness and experience life as it truly was. You can't run away from the problems that will arise in your life. Happiness is no longer the dominant emotion as it once was when we were young. Sometimes you're suffering, sometimes you're sad, sometimes empty and there will come a time when you don't want to continue living anymore. As if nothing was always meant for you, even if you gave it you're all. I now have a clear understanding of what my family is going through. The most important thing I've learned in life is that you can change your life, you can work for the better life you've always wanted. But my dream for my family will always remain consistent. The dream was to make my parents proud and to rise out of poverty. Give them the life they deserved after all they've done for our family. Life lessons from my experiences as I grew up showed me how possible anything can be if you strive for it and you'll believe it will be yours someday. Pray!
God's Timing is Always Perfect **When I was a kid, I've always dreamed of becoming a singer someday but I grew up so shy and low on confidence. I'm afraid of performing in front of large crowds. My dreams fade, and I'd never try to pursue them again. However, God heard my prayers. In His perfect time, He turned everything into reality much better than I have expected in my life.** My mother told us how she began to notice that I liked to sing when I was four years old. According to her, they took me and my sister to a mall to buy gifts for the upcoming Christmas. Then, they realized that they couldn't find me since there were so many people there. But after an hour, they spotted me walking while enjoying singing as if I wasn't lost haha! My father was the first person to encourage me in everything I do, especially in singing. He taught me how to sing and we practiced through singing in the famous videoke of the Philippines. (Hello my fellow Filipinos here, I'm 100% sure you know what is videoke 😂) It also serves as our family bonding at home, as my sibling loves singing as well. My parents and friends always pushed me to sing when there was an event at school when I was in elementary and high school. However, I grew up so shy and have no confidence to perform in front of large audiences. When I sing in front of the crowd, my hearts races so fast, my voice shakes and I am unable to sing confidently due to my nervousness. Perhaps it was one of my weaknesses in life. When I was 14 years old I fall in love with playing the guitar after seeing my brother's friend jamming in front of our house. I've always loved watching them. Since then, I've always dreamed to have my own guitar so I decided to set aside some of my money from my everyday allowance before going to school to purchase a guitar. I didn't even try to ask my parents for a guitar because I know we're lack of money. Although my saved money wasn't enough to buy a high-quality instrument, I'm still so happy and thankful that I was still able to have my own guitar for only 20$. Starting then, I'd no longer need to borrow from my brother's friend whenever I'm watching youtube tutorials to learn. Since then, I begin to make cover songs while playing the guitar and posted them on Facebook. Despite my shyness, I was so happy when I saw many people appreciate and compliment me through comments. When I was in senior high school, a friend persuaded me to join the choir audition of our university with her. At first, I was hesitant because of a lack of confidence to pass all the audition stages. But, since I was with a friend, I decided to give it a shot. Surprisingly, I passed the audition and was accepted into our school's choral organization. I made a lot of wonderful friends who have the same interest as mine. Despite the fact that I had to attend the rehearsal after class from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm, I had a great time doing it because it was my passion and dream. I'll never regret joining the choir because it made my senior high school journey more memorable. When I was in my first year of college, one of our subjects, art appreciation, has a final project which is an event that composed of a performance in which all engineering students can showcase their talents, such as making and modeling costumes, singing, dancing, spoken word poetry, band, etc. Because our section needed a band representative, they are looking for someone who can play the electric guitar (rhythm), and they've asked me if I'd want to try out for the rhythm part. My heart was so happy that time because it had been one of my life's ambitions. Despite the fact that it was my first time playing the electric guitar in front of many people, I gave my best to ensure the success of our performance. Thankfully, our concert went well, all the students loved it because we played the song of Paramore and 5sos. That was one of the happiest and most memorable experiences of my life!!! Thanks to my friends/classmates/bandmates!!! Last week, our department's student officers informed us that a virtual acquaintance party will be held on October 21, 2021. They divided us into 30 groups with 30 members and shuffled us so we didn't know each other as expected. The event consisted of making a group yell, a representative of each group for a singing contest, TikTok dance challenge, and the amazing mind race through discord app. I was chosen as our group's representative for the singing competition. At first, I was hesitant because I don't believe in myself, but my friends and family encouraged me to give it a shot. I told myself that maybe I could join and that it's okay if I don't win because the important thing is that I enjoy it and that our group has a representative. That was the first time in my life that I joined a singing competition. I didn't expect that I will make it to 2nd place. My heart is overjoyed, and I'm grateful to the Lord for giving me the courage to grab the opportunity to showcase the talent He has given to me. Thanks to the group chat and the virtual acquaintance party, our group has been able to establish a good relationship that feels as if we're very close in personal. I'm very happy I have them as my groupmates. Since I was already a fourth-year student, I was one of the oldest in the group. They even asked me if I already have a boyfriend so they can introduce someone to me hahaha! Since I was a child, I've always prayed to God that one of my dreams is to sing in front of the crowd without being scared or nervous, but I've never had the opportunity. But when God was the one who moved, I had no idea how much better His plans were. Despite my doubts and lack of confidence, I'd never expected to be a member of a choir organization that competes and performs throughout the Philippines, a rhythm guitarist in a band, and the 2nd placer in my first ever singing competition. He introduced me to those memorable experiences while also building friendships with many of the people I met in my dream journey. God knows when I was completely ready for my dreams and His timing is always perfect for everything He has planned for us. Sometimes we tend to ask God why our lives don't turn out the way we expected or why didn't He instantly grant the prayers we desired? From these life experiences, I learned that we should have patience for everything we prayed for, accepting that not all our prayers will be answered "Yes" by God and we should wait for God's perfect timing while trusting Him with all our hearts that He has better plans than we do. God's never early, never late, but always on time and He always sees the bigger picture of our lives.

The Beauty of Acceptance ***"There is beauty, freedom, peace, and ease from acceptance."*** ***They said when you fall in love with someone with no doubt, it's either a lesson or a blessing. At the most unexpected moment of my life, I effortlessly fall in love with the first man I loved without hesitations and uncertainty.*** In my second year of college, this guy confessed to me that he likes me since the first day of school. Out of all the men I encountered, in his presence, I felt at ease and comfortable, unlike other guys that I'm doubtful and uninterested. Then a friend of mine said something negative about him and asked if I could accept it and still allow him to court me. I pray to God that if it is not His will, I will let him remove that guy from my life despite the fact that I already like him. But he remains, I can see the sincerity and efforts to win my heart. I told myself that maybe I could give him a chance to try to get to know him better and not judge him based on what I heard from others. We had each other's back, we helped each other academically and we were so happy back then. Until we become official boyfriend, girlfriend. He was my first boyfriend. Unexpectedly, a pandemic spread in our country after only a few days of being official. The government had no choice but to impose a lockdown to prevent the COVID 19 virus from spreading. Since we haven't seen each other for a long time, I've always told him how much I miss him because that's exactly how I feel; I really wanted to see him but I know how difficult it is for us to see each other at that time due to the epidemic. I made a joke about it once and showed him a photo of my cousin with his girlfriend. I'm not sure if he misinterpreted it or if he thinks I'm putting pressure on him. He mistakenly assumed that my cousin was already employed, and I am comparing him to my cousin. I just call him 'Kuya Papo,' but he is a year younger than us. But that's beyond the point; all I want to do is to clarify things based on what I heard. Instead of knowing it after we had already separated, he should've told me and we should've talked about it that time. It is something I will understand. Still, I apologize for being insensitive but it was not really my intention. I really appreciate his efforts, therefore I tried my hardest to give back when I earned money by working in our canteen during our vacation and I understand he was broke at that time. When I have means, I will always consider buying little things for him to make him happy. Seeing him happy makes me happier. Sometimes, I brought something to give to his parents when he refuses to accept whenever I offer to pay for the gas. I want to at least thank his parents even through that small gestures of gratitude. And since the new semester is about to begin, I need to stop working part-time. As a girlfriend, I also made an effort to commute by riding 4 jeeps and 2 tricycles even though it is unsafe and far from our home just to see him. But for me, that isn't a problem because of the idea of seeing him excited and delights me. I've always loved telling stories about him in my family of how kind and compassionate he is as my lover thus my family likes him. I wanted him to feel welcomed like he was already a member of our family. Despite the fact that it was the first time I had been introduced by someone as their girlfriend and I was very shy, I made every effort to develop a good relationship with all of them. I love his family especially his parents because they were really kind and they treated me as if I were their own child. Misunderstanding and disagreement are part of any relationship. As time passes by, I noticed that we fought even on little things and his behavior changed. He turned too complacent, inconsistent, and had shortcomings yet I stayed because my love is greater than his flaws. I remember he's always criticizing himself but I always reassured him that he was wrong. He is intelligent and I can see his future potential which is something I admired about him. What I dislike about him is that whenever we have a misunderstanding, he always chooses to leave instead of discussing or resolving the issue, leaving me begging for him. That's what I felt in our relationship. He never admitted his mistakes and always blame me for everything. Although I'm aware that I have made mistakes, sometimes I am immature and sometimes I have toxicity, what I want is to fixed everything. Until our relationship becomes toxic and we broke up. Till he told me he no longer wants our relationship, but even though I don't get any responses from him via emails, messages, phone calls, and chats, I continue to try fixing things. I also tried inviting him out to see a movie, dine, and have a date with me because I'm afraid of being ignored and pushed him away if I go to his place. Despite my fears and uncertainty about what might happen, I decided to face and ask his parents if I could visit their son and speak with him. I brought a cake as a peace offering even though I lacked money. When I got there, he's sweet, we're happy until I asked him if we could settle things which he replied he needed some space and rest in the meanwhile, and that I could wait for him. I had a different feeling at the time, so I asked if I can see his cellphone. He let me but he is the one holding the phone and I saw a girl he was talking to on messenger. So I tried to get the phone from him so I could read their messages and stop chasing him, but he snatched it from me and threw it away, saying it was better to get his phone destroyed than to know their exchange messages. Of course, I cried really hard, it was so painful. I told him that I've always waited for his replies every day or that he could be honest with me if he didn't want me in his life and I'd let him go, but I ended up discovering something I didn't expect because I trusted him. I look miserable at the time, but I managed to straighten myself out before facing his parents because I didn't want them to see me like that. I said goodbyes gracefully and smiled as if nothing worst happened. I can't hold back my tears inside the jeepney, and I don't care what other people think of me. All I want is to spare myself from agony and forget everything as quickly as possible. I'm still grateful that despite my pain, I was still able to go home. When I got home, my mother scolded me and asked me where I went, but I'm so drained at that time so I just ignored her because all I wanted to do was rest and sleep all day and night. Starting that day, I became more helpless and broken plus the family and financial troubles our family was experiencing back then. Everything I used to do before had drained my energy, passion, and interest. I've also lost my appetite and don't have the energy to interact with other people. What I truly want is to be alone and cry my heart out because I can't take the pain, always praying to God to give me the strength to keep going and help me to overcome all these problems. Until I realized that this isn't me, this isn't the life I've always dreamed of. I began to help myself; God has always been the only person I could run to cause I don't want to add up any burden to my family since we are having a lot of problems at that time. I strove to rebuild my old cheerful and motivated self. That's when I actually realized how gracious God has been to me. New and countless friends, new opportunities, and a new way of thinking. My past has thought me a lot, and it inspires me to become a better version of myself. Despite all difficulties in life, I began to look for the bright side of everything. Right now, I'm becoming happier and more at ease. This is the message I'd always wanted to say but I decided it was better left unsaid. We've been together for a year and a half, and it's been one of the most unexpected and happiest times of my life. I've learned to love unconditionally, I've felt really loved, and our relationship has taught me a lot. I often questioned myself, "What did I do wrong?", "Why are you able to let go of everything so quickly?", "Isn't it true that I'm not worth fighting for?" But as time passed, I came to realize all my mistakes. I remembered those times I can't control my emotions, I was too insensitive, too comfortable that even the smallest thoughts in my mind are I want to share them with you. Because for me you are my home. With you, I felt the safest. I wasn't aware I was hurting you in that way. I don't know that craving for your attention is you saw me as toxic and immature, I become insensitive without knowing I am too much. I apologize for any mistakes I made. To be honest, I never did anything on purpose. It's simply that I assumed you'd always accept me as my lover. However, that wasn't always the case, as humans, we have limits. But thank you because since you left, I've learned to grow on my own, learn from my mistakes and be happy again even without the need for that kind of love. Now that I've found calmness, I prefer to do everything by myself. Even from afar, seeing you happy and feel at peace makes me happier. I'm sure you didn't know this, but I'm still your number one fan and the proudest of all your achievements! I'm always hoping for the best for you! :) I hope you enjoy reading my past love life story ^_^ Thank you so much!
Love the Unlovable This is my very first article so bear with me. Thankyouu!! 😁 ***There are times that people feel unloved because someone defined them from the mistakes they have committed in life. They don't find themselves valuable anymore just because they don't reach the standards of living. In this article, I want to share a story about the teenage pregnancy of the girl I met and I entitled it "Love the Unlovable" because I want to serve this article as a lesson for everyone to respect and give love to all the women who became single mothers at a young age.*** **October 7, 2021, the scheduled day for my first dose vaccination, I met a girl two years younger than me.... she's 19 years old.** My friend told me that the requirements needed if I still have no valid ID is I can bring a certificate of residency and school ID only to get my first dose of vaccine. But once I got to the vaccination center, they are looking for my birth certificate since my school ID has no birthdate. So I decided to go to the near civil registration office in our city instead of going home cause it will take me a lot of hours and it's already 3 pm that time. Besides, I need to go back to the vaccination center as soon as possible. Since I'm not that familiar with it, I approached this last girl on the line and tried to ask something about getting a birth certificate in the office. She's kind, she's simple, she's pretty. The way she talks to me, I can say that she has a good heart and she's a good person. While waiting for our turn, out of nowhere she asked me if I'm still a student, what course and school I'm attending. After answering her, I asked the same question, and then she told me she stopped studying when she was in her first year of college since her boyfriend got her pregnant but didn't take the responsibility as a father and husband. That time she was only 17 years old. In short, he left her after knowing she's pregnant. I told her, why she didn't continue her study that time since the education system now is an online class and it's easy for her to attend class despite her being pregnant. She told me her mother cannot support her school tuition and expenses anymore but she has a plan to continue her study. I can see the willingness in her eyes, how excited she is to finish college to help her family and give a bright future for her baby. I felt pity for her. I feel sympathy for the bad situation she has gone through. I can see she's been through a lot and regretting the wrong decision she made in the past. But I was happy that she became my friend even just for a little time. Knowing she finds my presence comfortable that she even trust me to know her life story made my heart melt. Since after few months of being locked up at home, this is the first time I was able to leave home but just only because of the vaccination schedule. hahaha sad. This is one of the things I miss the most when there's still no pandemic; socializing with other people through personal interaction, knowing them, befriend them, and hear their stories of life. Remembering this, even sharing struggles, is a great way to connect with humanity. Maybe you know someone in the same situation as her or maybe it could be you who experienced that kind of challenge in life. What I'm trying to imply in this story I shared with you is, no one has the right to judge others or to step down on other people just because they weren't successful as you. Don't define them by the mistakes they have committed in the past. We, everyone, commit mistakes. We don't like talking about failures very much but I believe it's one thing we have in common as humans. The important thing is, despite every shortcoming, we learn something and we can grow through it. We moved forward and become a better version of ourselves. To all the women who have experienced or currently experiencing this kind of burden, I know you can't escape from others' judgment but your feelings and what you're going through right now are all valid. I know it's been hard for you but don't blame yourself for trusting and loving someone to the point that you gave your all. Being in a bad situation doesn't mean you will be stuck there forever. You just need to find the door of happiness and looking for the brighter side of everything. Just don't let that happen again in your life. While for all the men, stop disturbing women you aren't ready for. Don't make them trust you with all their heart then you'll just be going to destroy it later on. Don't shake their stable world, don't hold their hand and leave them in the middle. Stay at your post. You can ruin everything in their lives :) P.S. I'm not tolerating teenage pregnancy, my point here is I know they are facing the consequences of their mistakes so instead of belittling them, judging them, making them feel unloved and unrespected; let's educate them. Show them that it's not the end of their dreams, there's always hope for everyone to get up and start over stronger and wiser in the reality of life. They have already been through a lot.
