Hello Everyone again here I am trying to write ✏️ articles although I find it very hard 😅
As a of mother of two children I was curious what is Flexible Blended Learning since I have a students.
School 🏫 held a orientation meeting last day and I attended of course to know the answers and here what I got..
* FLEXIBLE BLENDED LEARNING = is an approach to education that caters flexibility in time,place,pace and mode of learning depending on the availability of resources and schedule of students in a blended learning. It combines delivery modes that the college offers such as the use of printed and downloaded Self-learning kits..(it means they don't have to go to school to attend there classes).
There will be no FACE TO FACE INTERACTION. Until such time that the situation warrants the safety of the learners,teachers,administrative staff and other stakeholders involved in the teaching-learning process.
There are two types of Students can Enroll..
First Category without Connectivity:
These are students who do not have internet access,mobile devices and other related resources at home.
Second Category with Connectivity:
These are students who have stable internet access, mobile devices,and other related resources at home.
WHAT IS THE MODE OF THE DELIVERY OF LESSONS GIVEN THE TWO CATEGORIES ABOVE?
*FBL adopts a dual approach for it's delivery of learning for the (2) categories of students...
1: Non-online Approach (for students without connectivity) Self learning Kits and other printed materials would be available or they may use flash drives to have sofcopy of the lesson from eLearning. Parents/Guardian are the one designated to submit whatever maybe required of the students.
2: Online Approach (for students with connectivity in category with eLearning and SCHOOLOGY as the main platforms of delivery and supported by other online mechanisms such as Emails, Facebook,Skype,I-chat, Google Hangouts, Microsoft teams wheter synchronous or asynchronous.)
*A helpline would be organized composed of teachers,and other school personnel to assist parents and students on matters that need clarification.
Moreover,students in any category will have access to content, discussions, and collaborative experiences. However, students can be able to choose on the time convenient for them at home 🏡. They have more flexibility and control over when they choose to learn. They can study and do all activities in the self learning kits or mudules. Exams will be given online. Soft and hard copies will be provided to those who cannot do online testing.
AS PARENTS/GUARDIANS WE HAVE AN IMPORTANT ROLE HERE IN FLEXIBLE BLENDED LEARNING:
The parents/guardians in students households takes on added responsibilities of students or home based learning activities.
1. They need to monitor of their students in terms of their progress in using the printed Self-learning kits (taken from SCHOOLOGY)
2: They need to monitor their students in terms of their progress in using the self learning kits downloaded to the Learning Learning Management System and SCHOOLOGY.
Constant and open communication between parents (in both categories) and teachers must be a priority.
Monitoring of the Students in category 1 and 2 will be taken care of by the advisers.with the help of the parents.
A very helpful orientation for us Parents to Understand what is FLEXIBLE BLENDED LEARNING..
