Hello community, from this great community of Read.cash, another wonderful day to write and enjoy a good read and here in a community where you have the freedom to write on any topic and navigate in a sea of knowledge, I would like to talk about the inquisition and information related to fanaticism and the consequences throughout history and how surprising it is that after so many scientific and intellectual advances, fanatical ideals continue to be a weapon of mass destruction, it is understood that the human mind is very complex and is susceptible to manipulation, even so it is surprising to see how politicians and religious leaders can dominate thousands or millions of people through their speeches and thus achieve their ambitions of power and money, this is not a topic that has a context nice, but one way to combat bigotry is with education and knowing our history.

Every day is an opportunity to learn new things and be more prepared for the future. After seeing and looking for information on the topic exposed here, fanaticism and the inquisition, something that is mixed, I found a lot of data to understand the origin and consequences of the inquisition.

1-It is estimated that there were 5000 people who died because of the inquisition but obviously this figure may be different from reality and there is no way of knowing how many they were.

2- The inquisition lasted approximately 350 years

3- Many women for being redheads were burned alive for being considered witches.

4-The fanatic inquisitors went crazy with power and looked for a way to continue accusing people of being heretics.

5- In 1931 many Jews had to convert to the Catholic religion in order not to be expelled from Spain and many others went into self-exile, to continue being Jews.

6-The murder of Joan of Arc is due to the fear they had of her for her political power and leadership, it is what is presumed

7-After being executed for heresy a person could be accused again and his remains removed from the grave to be thrown into a bonfire

8- the inquisition It occurred in different reigns in several countries Spain, Portugal, Italy so there is various information about its origin, what I mean is that it was not an inquisition there were several at the will of the rulers and the Catholic Church.

9- The assets of the person executed for heresy were expropriated

10- This piece of information that I am going to do at this point is very interesting and puts into context what the inquisition was, in 1307, the King of France Philip the Beautiful, being bankrupt due to a series of military battles, saw with ambition the power, the money and the properties that the Templars had, which were an order of warrior Monks and after 7 years I managed to put an end to the order, personally I think that the inquisition was born with the evil of wanting to impose Catholic power over everyone and that the people who used this power they did so for equally ambitious ends.

11- The Jews who converted to Catholicism were able to opt for public office and exercise trade

12- In 1481 King Ferdinand the Catholic restores an inquisition having all the power of this new court leaving out the father and the church and it was all because he wanted more power to seize the assets of the Jews since many Jews had made friends through money with the church.

13- After death, the most feared thing was to be sentenced to the galleys as a slave and to be on these boats to row until death, which was another source of cheap labor, everything ends up being for money after all.

14- The tortures were very specific and had instructions that had to be followed strictly

15- The large number of Jews who emigrated to Portugal in 1500 encouraged to reactivate the inquisition in Portugal.

16- In 1500 onwards great steps were taken to end the inquisition, like the protestants who were persecuted with ferocity.

17-By 1700 the same Spanish population saw badly that the inquisition would continue.

18- In 1773 the inquisition or acts of faith began to be outlawed, as these trials were called

19- It was Napoleon's attack in 1808, which put an end to the inquisition, by taking his military offensive to Spain and Italy

20- It was in 1820 that the inquisition was completely outlawed

In other data, which we cannot ignore, we have to talk about the consequences in the field of science and education and how fanaticism was stronger than reason and thought.

We have always heard about one of the fathers of science Galileo Galilei but what many of us did not know is that for his scientific writings he was also accused by the Inquisition and to save his life he recanted and remained under house arrest until his death.

talking about another unknown hero of history Giordano Bruno Italian astronomer, philosopher, theologian and poet, who in the year 1584 wrote a book THE INFINITE UNIVERSE AND ITS PLANETS Where he wrote several theories, such as the sun was a star or that there was intelligent life beyond the stars, for these ideas he was brought to trial by the inquisition and this lasted 7 years but he maintained his beliefs and knowledge and was executed on 17 February 1600. It is said that after the sentence whisper THE EARTH MOVES IN SPITE OF EVERYTHING

Another hero and Martí of history, although Galileo recanted, it was 20 years that he was fighting, but today we all remember them as the fathers of science and the inquisitors as the monsters of history. And speaking of monsters, the inquisition ended or the uniform was changed, because Nazism was a continuation and currently in North Korea an official who, just for suspecting that he may be a traitor, several of his generations can be executed, that is a child can be executed if treason on the part of his grandfather is suspected. Fanaticism has been the worst weapon to cause suffering in the world throughout history due to ambition for power and if you guessed money.

In summary we can say, We started at the beginning and its creation this occurs with Gregory IX in the year 1231, he created a court that looked for people accused of committing Heresy in the name of the Catholic Church, in order to seek the salvation of the accused. , despite the fact that at the time these were the most civilized countries, they were also the countries most submerged in fanaticism and in the atrocities that were carried out by power, fear and ambition, and it took more than 3 centuries for people they will finish opening their eyes and end this dark time of torture and suffering, in the name of a church, there are still people who reject the catholic church due to these acts perpetrated throughout history, but I believe that faith is something personal and not from an institution.

happy to greet and be able to write another article, trying to make a quality contribution and to continue learning something new every day.
