Hi my name is MaxAero, but they called me Aero or Max. I was born last September 13, 2021, turning 4 months old this coming January 13, 2022.

"Man's best friend" is a common phrase used to describe domestic dogs, referring to their millennia-long history of close relations, loyalty, friendship, and companionship with humans. The first recorded use of a related phrase is by Frederick the Great of Prussia. It was likely popularized by its use in a poem by Ogden Nash and has since become a common colloquialism.

Before the 19th century, breeds of dogs (other than lap dogs) were largely functional. They performed activities such as hunting, tracking, watching, protecting and guarding; and language describing the dog often reflected these roles. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, "In the oldest proverbs and phrases dogs are rarely depicted as faithful or as man’s best friend, but as vicious, ravening, or watchful." Beginning in the 18th century, multiplying in the 19th and flourishing in the 20th century, language and attitudes towards dogs began to shift. Possibly, this societal shift can be attributed to discovery of the rabies vaccine in 1869.

They say a dog's a man's best friend,
With that I will agree.
A better friend than any one
Of us could ever be!

For dogs, you see, care not how we
Are dressed or how we look.
Nor do they care the type of home
Or college course we took.

They know not how to ridicule.
They know not how to hate.
They never become envious
When we befriend new mates.

Nor do they rate intelligence -
Nor care, if wanting's found.
They're blind to eccentricities
Though plenty do abound.

They do not understand a lie.
Nor care what station we
Attain along life's troubled road -
If even poverty.

They live each moment just for us;
Undying in their love.
And forsake not in manner which
Our 'friends' are guilty of.

Yes dogs, you see, are better friends
Than man could ever be;
With loyalty unquestioned and
Affection guaranteed.

Barking “dogs” seldom bite, so said the British,
Yet dogs are pals most dear to man,
Man can afford to his pet dog appear uppish,
To every poodle, is every upstanding owner like a Napoleon,
Hence the popularity unanimous of dogs, however brutish,
But not so to thieves, who take what they don’t own,
Inasmuch as ‘hounds’ are good friends to mankind,
Thieves and property filchers tremble at their bark,
‘Course one can’t expect a dog to thieves be kind! ,
Rather, they will at scent of criminals attack,
Therefore this is a warning to crooks and thieves,
To cease wrong-doing and not hurl insults at the honest,
What transpires in the dark will to the fore emerge,
So we must not harshly our neighbours judge.

Thank You!
