The Tale of the Two Princes : Quest to Oizys β Part 9
For the past six days, Prince Nathan has been traveling to the Kingdom of Cyra to follow his brother. Some warned him that this kingdom is fraught with danger since there would be many bandits along the way, but he traveled for several days and didn't come across anyone, not even one.
He was lucky to have his owl Lilo with him to show him where she had last seen Prince William. A few meters ahead, Prince Nathan noticed the dried blood-like tint on the roadside. He dismounted his horse and inspected it thoroughly. He assumed it was from his brother.
"Aaaahhhhhhh!"
Someone screamed, and the prince heard it. He instantly mounted his horse and rode to where he thought the voice was coming from. The voice led him to the tall mountain, where he saw two people standing below. He doesn't know the first person, but he's certain the second is his brother.
"William!" yelled Prince Nathan.
"Nathan?" Prince William whispered.
Prince Nathan jumped from his horse and ran to hug his brother. He became really worried after receiving the bloody handkerchief from his owl.
"Hey, you're too sissy," Prince William muttered, rolling his eyes and patting his brother on the back.
When Prince Nathan let go of his brother's arms, he slammed him with a powerful punch.
"W-what was that for?" Prince William said vehemently.
"Don't do it again. Don't act recklessly. You're troubling me. What will I say to our mother when she wakes up one day and you're gone? How can I explain that to her, huh?" Prince Nathan said aggressively.
"Whatever. Uhh- That hurts. Earlier, this entryway, and now you. Percy, perhaps you'd like to hurt me too though." Prince William complained.
"I'm good here, Master," Percy said, chuckling.
"What happened?" Prince Nathan asked.
"Uhm, Your Highness. Prince William did what the royals do before entering this mountain, and all of them succeeded, but he didn't; instead, the wind guarding this entryway pushed him away, indicating that he is not a royalty," Percy explained.
Prince Nathan approached the entryway, looked down at his palm, and wrote the letter 'A' with his finger, which illuminated like the brightest beam of light. When Prince William saw it, he widened his eyes and wondered why his palm didn't light up when he was a prince.
"W-What... How?"
"Listen, William. Only our mother can explain what happened, and I don't know how to tell you; so go home and ask her, and let me handle this." Prince Nathan entered the mountain's mouth and vanished with the wind.
"Nathan, waitβ" Prince William is going to question his brother, but he has already disappeared.
"I think he's right; go back to your kingdom. All we have to do is to trust him and pray for his safe journey," Percy advised.
Prince William says nothing. He is still baffled. How come he isn't royalty while Prince Nathan is? He is wondering if he is adopted. If that's the case, who are his parents? His mind is racing with questions for which he has no answers.
On the other hand. The wind blew Prince Nathan away from the world. It's as if he's in the middle of nowhere, with no trees, animals, trails, or a pathway of signs or objects left behind by someone or something passing by.
It's a bleak place with a depressing atmosphere. He's standing somewhere he doesn't know. The ground and sky are both pitch black. The surroundings are foggy, and it's colder than a winter season, the kind of cold that sent shivers down his system.
He runs from left to right, trying to find a way out, but there is none. He's stuck because he has no idea where he's going and can't see what's ahead of him. Everything is hazy. He can't hear anything except his breathing. That is the most deafening sound he has ever heard in his life. It's disturbing.
"Aaaarrrggghhh! Please stop thisβ" He screamed as he covers his ears and grasping his head.
He heard some voice inflicting his head. A swarm of people saying different words but all screaming for help. Tears, sweat, and mucus from his nose all flow down his face. He seemed to be going insane. He would rather die than continue to go through this.
"You've had the audacity to come here with a weak heart, even after being warned by the tales about me, and now you're pleading for help?"
He has no idea where it came from. He couldn't tell if it was all in his head. It's reverberating throughout the place, as if it's coming from the underworld.
Yello! π
I'm sorry for not updating you on this story in three months. My thoughts, like Prince Nathan's, appear to be lost in the wind, with no way to get back.
I'm thankful to the bub for helping me in resurrecting this dormant world of mine, and I know exactly where I'm going now.
I can finish this. I know I can.
Awww finally! An update on this one. Nice way to start your weekend bb. And I would like to commend on how you always took an amazing title on every chapter of your stories. What a smart kid hihi π
