Millions of insects

Every year, scientists discover between 7,000 and 10,000 new types of insects. More than 800,000 insect species are already known, and some officials estimate that if all insect species on Earth were known, the total would be well over 1,000,000

One of the recently identified/discovered insect which made headlines this year was ‘Kaikaia gaga’ an insect of the species of treehopper, a conspicuous but little-known group of insects that inhabits most of Earth's forests.This insect was named after a pop artist Lady gaga.
