The Spanish conquest (from 1565 to 1898) and the United States (from 1898 to 1946) greatly influenced or changed the language and customs of the Philippines. The Catholic faith or Catholicism was the greatest influence the Spaniards had on the Filipino tradition.

The Philippine nation is well-known for its goods and services and its Filipino Overseas Workers (OFWs). The country is currently experiencing growth in remittances sent by OFWs. One of the most important components of technology is the knowledge of the Philippine economy. Many foreigners are also investing in the country because of high dollar and peso exchanges. The portion of service provided by call centers serving the country is also rising.
