The Eagle And The Maya

History of El Filibusterismo
El Filibusterism or The Reign of Greed in Filipino is a sequel to Noli Me Tangere. This novel was written by Dr. Jose Rizal in October 1887 while practicing medicine in Calamba, Laguna.
It was originally written in Spanish and he dedicated it to three martyrs known as Gomburza (Padre Gomez, Burgos, and Zamora).
Rizal completed El Filibusterism on March 29, 1891, also published in the same year. A friend named Valentin Ventura allegedly lent money to Rizal to print and publish the book on September 22, 1891.
El Filibusterism is said to be a political novel that aims to awaken readers' minds and hearts in order to achieve the true freedom and rights of the people.
Some of the twin characters here are Simoun (Juan Crisostomo Ibarra), Basilio, Father Salvi, and many more.

The Dog And The Cockroach
The trees around the house are tall. The rear garden is also spacious. Mang Kardo's house surrounded the rice fields and crops. In the foreground, near the door is the dog bed. Mang Kardo then saw the cockroach and in one stroke of my grip the cockroach died. She thought it was the same food that her granddaughter had prepared and for that reason she released and loved the dog again.
The dog was happy that he was free but he had compassion for the cockroach.
