History of Fuerza Sta. Isabel In Taytay Palawan (Kuta) Part IV

1 6

The Taytayanos cannot be defended by the Taytay Fort.

From the successful occupation of the Spaniards in the northern part of Paragua (Palawan), 1818 when southernpart was incorporated into a separate province called Astoria to become a province and called Calamianes and made the town of Taytay.

But later, due to the onslaught of poisons, the Provincial Capital was transferred to Cuyo in 1873.

Over time, Kuta has also been a witness to Filipinos' desire to gain independence from the exploitation of the Spanish occupiers.

With the rise of patriotic sentiments, and uprisings against the invaders, the Taytayanos were also among those who showed courage to free the Filipinos.
