cience is both the process of acquiring knowledge and the organized part of knowledge gained through its methodology. Scientific process is the systematic acquisition of new knowledge about a system. Generally, the scientific method is systematic acquisition, and nature and its various components are the system. Science is also regarded as the scientific knowledge systematically acquired by science.
In a broad sense, science existed even before modern times and in many historical civilizations, but modern science is unique in its scientific method and has been successful in determining what science is in the best sense of the word.
