El Ávila, National Park and Natural Lung of Caracas, Venezuela.
El Ávila or also known as WARAIRA REPANO, is a majestic mountain of exuberant beauty that is located in the city of Caracas, Venezuela. It has an area of 85,192 hectares; 80 km long and approximately 16 km wide.
It was declared a National Park on December 12, 1958. This beautiful mountain separates the Caracas Valley from the Caribbean Coasts (La Guaira State).
It can be accessed by different means, either with 4x4 vehicles, walking along different trails or by cable car ... All are excellent options to visit the mountain and enjoy all its benefits.
It is very common for locals and tourists to do hiking, sports and recreational activities in the mountains, especially on Sundays where they go as a family, partner or with friends to breathe fresh air and relax with everything El Ávila has to see and enjoy.
The Ávila Cable Car
It was built in the 50s, but it was not until 2000 that it was modernized, it was reopened to the public, becoming the most comfortable and fastest way to climb to the top of the mountain, in just 15 minutes you travel 3.5 km. It has about 87 cabins with capacity for 8 people.
Once at the top of the mountain you will find the Humboldt Hotel, which is the most expensive and luxurious in the city, which is set in the 50s in a magical and elegant way, where you can enjoy its restaurants, casinos and ice skating rinks.
In the mountains there are so many things to see and enjoy that you will have to go several times to know everything, because you have multiple recreational activities to do that just one day is not enough.
Since you can go horseback riding, have a spa day, do sports, taste Venezuelan and international food in the different restaurants, visit the craft shops and typical sweets of the region, live music, bathe in its rivers and see its waterfalls. and camping in special areas ...
And the most important thing to get out of the city, out of the everyday and connect with nature, the cold, the flowers, breathe the pure air that is total happiness.
You can also get to know a small tourist town called Galipán, with very beautiful and colorful houses, its inhabitants are very kind, cordial and generous people who will make you feel at home.
