Overseas Filipino Worker is a term often used to refer to Filipino migrant workers, people with Filipino citizenship who reside in another country for a limited period of employment.
Way back I used to work at a semiconductor company at Taiwan. When I pass the interview I was so happy, but when the time pass by all of a sudden I feel sad, I even cry when there's no one around. I always said to myself that I need to do that for my family most of all for my daughter to give her a better future.
When I arrived at Taiwan I feel scared because not all of them know how to speak English I don't even know how to speak Mandarin. Until my broker said that there's nothing to worry about because there's so many Filipina who are working at that company. Time passes by and I gain a lot of friends,haring stories when we are all feeling sad and in time of homesick.
Working Abroad is not easy, sometimes other people think that you have a lot of money but the truth is there's nothing left with you. When they see you eating in a restaurant,going into different places they will think that you are happy even when you are away with your family but the truth is you are not. There are nights and days that you want to be with your family, birthday, family reunion, Christmas but you need to be strong to give them their needs.
