The disease caused by the novel coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, China, has been named Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The COVID-19 virus is a new virus linked to the same family of viruses as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and some types of common cold. COVID-19 has been described as a pandemic by the World Health Organization, COVID-19 being a pandemic disease does mean or shows any indication that the virus has become deadlier or has increased mortality rate but it is rather a form of an acknowledgement of the disease’s wide geographical spread and high infection rate.

There were lot of anticipations for the year 2020, how the year would probably be like and the good and bad things the year would unveil? If peradventure the world would have become a more ungodly and corrupted place? The new innovations and technological inventions that would come into limelight, if the world would even still exist by then? These questions and lot more ran through the minds and hearts of many as years went by.

Eventually the greatly anticipated year came by and brought with it what the world was not in any way expecting, it brought a pandemic disease greatly feared by all; the rich, the middleclass, the poor, the weak, the strong, the healthy, the sickly, the influential, the non-influential, the popular, the unpopular, the powerful, the powerless, the black, the half cast, the white and many more. In the eyes of this pandemic disease called COVID-19, we all are equal diversified inclusions.

Anyways, let us minor our focus on the health pandemic impact and fear the disease is instilling in the heart of everyone and major our focus on the positive impact and effect this disease (COVID-19) is having on the world in general which most people don’t see or take cognizance of. There is actually a great deal of positivity this disease has brought/bringing upon this earth, to humanity. This disease is looking more or less like a tool in bringing to man’s sub consciousness of what humanity was designed to be from the onset before there was diversification and segregations by humans, before equality was rubbed in the mud and inequality became the normality of the world. The equality which humans had forsaken, reminding us that we are all humans first before we diversified into different cultures and races and before there was exclusion of the poor from the rich, the infamous from the famous and the powerless from the powerful.

From my view, this COVID-19 has reignited our connection as humans, as our body organs and tissues function and operate the same manner no matter the skin colour and weather condition.and it has also reopened our understanding of the shortness of life and the preciousness of our lives and health, why we need to care for ourselves and for others around us; far or near, our hearts and minds has been rekindled to the importance of family and home, schools all over the world was closed and almost all students studying home and abroad returned home and this in turn gave birth to more family time and bond.

One of the greatest power mankind has is the power to choose, as we all know the Earth is sick and needs healing and help, so it is left to mankind to either choose to cooperate, support and help each other so as to make the Earth healed and a better place to live in or be selfish, unsupportive and nonchalant. It is letting us know that no matter how great and achieved you think you are or people think you, an unseen virus can bring the whole world to a great pandemonium and standstill.

There have been various cases of pandemic disease like this in the past, so it is left to us to either see this as an end of the world or decide not to panic and wait hopefully for this hard time to pass by.

Also, we should know that this can go in two ways, either be the end of be a new beginning, but it is left for us to learn from our mistakes or learn our lessons some other time.
