Black is Beautiful

Black is beautiful is a cultural movement that was started in the US in the 1960s by African Americans.it later spreads beyond the united states to south Africa. Black is beautiful got its root from the negritude movement in the 1930s. negritude argued for the importance of a Pan-African racial identity among people of African descent worldwide.

It aims to dispel the racist notion that black peoples natural features such as skin colour, facial features, and hair are inherently ugly. John Rock was long thought to be the first person to show the phrase ‘black is beautiful’ during a speech in 1858. The movement also encourage men and women to stop trying to eliminate African-identified trait by straightening their hair and attempting to lighten or bleach their skin.

The phrase ‘black is beautiful’ referred to a broad embraced of black culture and identity. It called for an appreciation of the black as a wordy legacy and it inspired cultural pride in contemporary black achievement. Black Is beautiful because it stands for being bold, proud, and standing on the shoulders of the once who came before us. It represent strength and intergrity , I am proud to be a recipient of those who came before us and proud to pave the way for those coming behind. Black is beautiful because we have amazing skins and history ha sproved to show that many of our celebrities today are blacks in the likes of; Jay Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Micheal Jordan, Chris Brown. We have so many intelligent successful, inspiring blacks in the world today who have been our heroes in past times in the likes of; Nelson Mandela, Obafemi Awolowo and many more but few to mention.

If blacks could achieve this why then why should we be segregated, everything about black is beautiful our culture, our tribes, our mineral resources, our language most American even to Nigeria to make enquiries about our resources and many more........ Black is beautiful I'm proud to be a black and I Stan to be a black always........
