I love everything about adventure, and this is why kayak is one of those things i added as a list of adventure to embark on in Lagos, Nigeria.
Kayak is a form of a watersport, where you can paddle the kayak Accross multiple water ways in Lagos, you can actually row from ikoyi towards Victoria Island/lekki.
If you are visiting Lagos in Nigeria and you are looking for something adventurous to lighten your mood, kayak might be a better option, you are welcome to the adventure club.
You will get to know some safety tips and how to go about kayaking, but first let's see some pictures and get you to know what kayak actually is...
Now that you have seen what kayak is actually, let's get started. There are only four places where you can do kayak in Lagos Nigeria.
La campagne Tropicana Beach
Omu Resort
Lagos Kayak at Ikoyi
Kampari Tours in Lekki
Sounding interesting right? The cost of kayak actually varies from a destination to another one, from 1000naira at La Campagne to 5000naira at Kampari tours.
My first experience actually was at Kampari Tours and my second experience was at La Campagne beach, the experience was topnotch, and the third experience was at Lagos Kayak with the google team, we all moved from ikoyi towards Lekki and Victoria Island... I would actually love to do all these all over again, it was a sweet experience.
The environment looks very friendly and it is located close to a jetty, so apart from kayaking, you also have an opportunity of having a sweet view of the Atlantic Ocean.
Rules you must understand before kayaking and some safety tips;
Ensure you follow strictly the safety rules.
Don't be panicked, stay calm and relaxed and you will enjoy the moment.
If the water flow or current is too high or hard, do nothing but stay calm and relaxed.
When you see a speed boat approaching, stay out of its way.
Ensure you properly strap your life jacket.
Do ensure you sit on the right of the kayak.
Although have never try it before, but I wish to try it one of these days
