Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
The love of God is shared in our hearts through Christ. We are admonished today to put on this love in our daily interactions with people.
It's expedient to act in love, for God is love. Hatred destroys, but love builds.
Let us show love to people that can't pay us back. Let us show love to the perishing. Let love lead our daily decisions, irrespective of the situation.
Never act out of selfishness, for love is selfless. The power of God thrives in the realms of love. In your home, let love reign. Share love abroad.
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
The love for material things is one of the major plagues of an unfulfilled man. Thus, the Lord admonishes us today on the right things on which our affection should be focused to: THINGS ABOVE.
This is symbolic. The things above refers to things that are higher and imperishable, things that can't expire, things that can't be stolen or wasted.
Falling under this category are the treasures in heaven, our salvation, eternal rewards and our oneness with Christ for eternity.
It's amazing to note that these treasures are the only significant things that we should go for or even die for if need be.
Everything on earth shall end someday, whether they are marriages, houses, cars, careers, money, etc. They shall perish, but eternity with Christ and the rewards awaiting us shall remain relevant forever.
What would you rather choose to love? The pleasures of this world that shall end in tears and regrets? The cars and houses that shall become obsolete when we are no more? Jesus and the salvation package are the best choice. Choose Him, love Him and you shall enjoy abundant life till eternity.

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your love upon us. We long to love you completely forever, please deliver us from distractions and help us to love what you love, Please help us to continually live in love all the days of our lives, in Jesus name. Amen.
