A brand called 'YOU' part 1 You are your most important asset. In a sense you are your only asset and your ability to maximize that asset that is "You" is the main ingredient to standing out and achieving a great success..This is why personal branding is so Valuable. Hello everyone here! I've been out for almost two years now but I'm back. Please welcome me back (smiles)
Forgiveness **Introduction:** Somebody has hurt you - maybe it was just yesterday, or maybe its been years ago. We’ve all been hurt by someone, but sometimes we are bound by an emotional pain that resurfaces again and again. Thankfully as Christians we have a God who brings such simple truth, commands, and grace. Although simple, the Bible can at times be difficult and overwhelming for us to trust and obey. Thankfully the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us, provides godly guidance, strength, and love to help us overcome our human nature. Can I shock you a little, I've heard of a Father who slept with his 3 daughters, impregnated them, aborted for them, and he demands forgiveness What a Sacrilegious act........ How about a friend who went behind her friend to spoil her in front of her mother in law to be; oh she said she would cause his son pains and agony, if she doesn't stop him.... After all she knows her friend's secret...... She too also demands forgiveness, after everything backfired...... **The Forgiving God** When we look at forgiveness according to the Bible, we must start with God. God knows all about forgiveness - His acts of grace and mercy toward undeserving people are numerous! Just look at the Israelites in the desert complaining and turning to other idols - how many times did God forgive them when they repented? And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. [27] And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; [28] For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission l of sins. Matthew 26:26-28 KJV In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Ephesians 1:7 KJV This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 NLT Having taken his blood and it runs through our veins, we are now having a sense of feeling that we should take decisions like him, to forgive. Scripture teaches many things about our role in forgiveness and our relationships here on earth. With good reason, there are many frequently asked questions on this topic. Based on the Bible and experience, the questions and answers below should help us on our journey. **1. Is forgiveness a conscious choice, or an emotional state?** **Responses** _Forgiveness is a choice that we make through 1 free will. We do not have to wait for us to be “ready” or for our feelings to lead us. We must decide to forgive; the emotions will follow in time._ We are to forgive not when we are ready (or when the person has apologized), but rather we are instructed to forgive because God has already freely forgiven us through Jesus Christ. **2. How do we forgive when we don’t feel like it?** _a. We forgive by faith out of an obedience to God’s commands. Since forgiveness goes against our human, self-centered nature, we must forgive out of faith in God. We must trust that God will change our hearts in time, while we forgive in obedience. (See Phil 1:6)_ _b. Time will not heal the wounds; only forgiveness will._ **3. Does forgiveness happen over night?** _a. Forgiveness is a process, and there will be multiple layers of healing. The decision to forgive can happen in an instance (because its not dependent on emotion), but you must continue to walk out that forgiveness for a lifetime._ _b. We are called to repeatedly forgive without limits! Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. **4. How do you know when the process of forgiveness is complete?** When you start enjoying peace, And when your relationship with that person gets better. You don't necessarily have to be as it was but at least small communication. Forgiveness is an action word. To the question above, let's look at this _Forgiveness is about setting someone free, and that person is you! The forgiveness process is complete when you experience the freedom from anger, bitterness, revenge, or hurt._ You are freed from the power of this other person over you! *5. Is there a time to approach the person who offended me?* a. Yes, Scripture teaches us that we are to go to those who have sinned against us (see Matt 18:15-20). However we are not to judge one another as if we are sinless, but rather we should go in love (Matt 7:1-5; Gal 6:1-2). b. We are also instructed to approach someone quickly if we realize we are the offender (see Matt 5:23-24). c. Healthy communication is good for our relationships. God wants to use us to help one another become more holy and righteous. Many times, we need to help each other realize where we fall short. “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. Matthew 5:23-24 NLT **6. How do I know when to approach someone, or when to just forgive them?** a. There should be lots of prayer and discernment! This is a gray area, but the Holy Spirit knows your situation and what’s best for you and the other party. b. The most important guiding factor should be love for the other person (1 Jn 4:19-21). We love each other because he loved us first. If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 1 John 4:19-20 NLT Some people beg for forgiveness some don't. Like forefa! But the Bible says we should forgive those who hurt us. If the person doesn't ask for forgiveness I forgive and move on. If he does I can now approach you. When I was a kid I build houses for ants, and when an ant leaves the house, I kill it immediately.... We have diverted from God's face and he still hold us to himself, so we must forgive and move. You can't forget but the hurt that comes with it one can heal from it. That's why Joyce Meyer can talk about how her father abuse her while preaching and not sulk on the pulpit. She's gotten over that pain. Through the help of the Holy Spirit! I pray that God should help us conquer the pains that people might have caused us and also help us to forgive freely without holding any grudge against our transgressors!
Misconceptions in relationship Let me tell you a real life story that happened to me! This one happened in January this year. There is this guy I always see in school. He was my senior colleague but he graduated last year. He was still hanging around for his clearance. I think his name is Davis or so. I couldn't even memorize the name because he was damn annoying. One day, I saw him in the department as I was coming out, he excused me but I was too busy to wait. He asked for my phone number and I acted a good girl. Gave him the number and went my way. That evening, guy called and we Sha talked. He told me he would be coming to my hostel to see me. When he came, we went out o. I was not okay walking by him because he was too short, and he wore a big heel foam slippers. He was simply looking like a clown. Lemme just maintain my cool, I said to myself as we were going. We got to the eatery where we sat. Uncle didn't even ask if I needed anything. All he was saying is that he wants us to know each other better. Lemme just say it the way he said: "Blezin" (pronounced as spelt), I want you to know me better and then I know you better. You come to my house, I come to your house. We know ourselves then we will proceed from there. I am just going to be blunt, this guy was just not the kind of person I could hang with. But I was just acting a good girl. Father Lord, how did I get here? People around us noticed I wasn't even comfortable with the person I was with. He didn't even notice neither did he care. He was still talking. He asked me to speak, that he has been talking and I haven't said anything. I told him I'd think about all he has said. My guy did not agree o. "There is nothing to think about. You need this. I'm only doing you a favor. Girls have expiry date. Before you know now, you will start running from prayer house to prayer house looking for a..... Hold it right there, I screamed. What rubbish are you talking about? First off, you ain't doing me any favour neither is that expiry shit for me. Thank you! I'm going. I really had enough for the day. The things he vomited and the way he was looking, he was so annoying. I left him there and he couldn't say anything. Went back straight to the hostel. I said I will start filtering the dates I'd be going. He kept calling me so I blocked him. Now, we'd just see each other and pass with just hello and Hi. The reason I brought this story is that, despite his looks, he was still having guys to think he would be doing me a favour. What effrontery! Now the thing is, know your worth. It's a pity how men still think they are doing ladies favour by asking them out and taking care of parts of their responsibility. A relationship should be complementary. Both parties have a thing or two to offer. That is why they need each other. In as much as I need you in my life, you need me in yours as well. Men do make the mistake of thinking that they are doing women some favour by dating them. If they must have that kind of thought, it means the lady is as well doing the man a favor. Please let us get this right. We see something in someone that attract us to be together. We must blend and grow together. That is how it should be and not the other way round! Please guys, try and go a little deeper in your thoughts. Fine, you will help her in a massive way, but you can't use that to get her into the relationship. It matters a lot. May we find happiness in every of our Relationships!

Ten Time Management Hacks Even If You Are A Chronic Procrastinator (Final Episode) For the past few weeks, I've been writing about time management hacks and I'm glad to bring to you the final episode. **#HACK 8** **Set Deadlines For Your Goals** Once you have something that you're targeting, it is better to set deadlines for it. You can have a target but discover that it is taking too long to reach such target. Once you set deadline for it, you will realize that even if you don't exhaust everything in the list before the deadline, you will at least have a feasible outcome. For instance, "I want to write a book: this week I'm starting chapter one, next week I'm starting chapter two". "This month: I want to read one book every week, so I wake up and read the book 7am to 8am everyday for that week". This is a typical deadlines set! So once is 7am, my body will tell me that this is the deadline I set for myself! So set deadlines and you will be glad you did. **#HACK 9** **Use Time Management Apps** That you're seeing this message means you have a smartphone either an android or an iOS phone. I'll talk about time management apps later. But put simply, the alarm you set on your phone can help you manage your time. Your smartphone has something like stopwatch. It can also help you manage your time. **#HACK 10** **Hire An Accountability Partner** All the Hacks I have shared with you are very useful but you can be lazy and you need someone to check you up. Sometimes you can return to your old habit: procrastination, so you need someone to be reporting to; " okay, this is my plan for this month, this is what I'm doing today, this is what I have done this week, this is what I have been able to achieve this week" That's how you become accountable and you manage your time well. You can use your friends as your accountability partner! Sometimes if you have people who can take you serious because most of the times: your close friends won't take you serious, add financial value to it and it'll change. For instance: I run An accountability partnership with people who wants me to hold them accountable and manage their time weekly, Monthly, bi-annually and annually. Then you can be sending them your weekly and daily goals every Sunday and on Saturdays, You'll be sending them Your weekly review of how you worked on those and how you have achieved everything you were doing! Then Everyday, they'll be getting your daily reviews before you return to bed. Have you seen how they are holding you accountable for your time? This is how an accountability partner holds you responsible. With this Ten Hacks, you can be able to manage your time whether as a career professional, a business owner, an entrepreneur or a student. Whatever shoe you are in, you can use that to achieve your daily tasks to become productive. Have a wonderful Time!

Ways To Generate Ideas For Your Book Ways to generate ideas to package into an eBook **1.) Your skill:** Consider your skill. What did you learn as a skill outside school? Baking, Catering, Decoration, Website design, Graphic design etc. What did you study in school? Are you a trained marriage counselor, farmer, psychologist, brand Ambassador, network marketer, Realtor, doctor, Dietitian, nurse, website designer. You can actually package your knowledge into an eBook. **2) Your talent:** E.g, You can cook. What is it that people come to you for solution? Eg. Writing An Ebook An Ebook is an electronic compilation of well-arranged and seasoned knowledge written with the aim of providing a solution to a specific Problem **BASICS THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT AN EBOOK THAT MAKES IT AN EBOOK** **1. IT IS A COMPILATION** it is a collection of knowledge, the knowhow relevant to a particular event. By this, it means its content are gathered from different sources, put together with a purpose. **2. ITS KNOWLEDGE IS WELL-ARRANGED** have you ever picked up a material to read and its content are so scattered, do you feel comfortable reading it? Obviously No! To be qualified to be a book, it must be well arranged, structured and patterned. Yes in chapters, in units, in sections or modules. **3. ITS KNOWLEDGE IS SEASONED** It is not a compilation of wrong, incorrect, or untrue postulations. It is a collection of well seasoned, authentic information. Anything that lacks this quality isn't a book. **4. IT SOLVES A PROBLEM** The Aim of Writing isn't for the feeling that you have authored a book. Or neither is it for your CV. Far be it from that! A book is written to solve a problem, a pain point or meet need. Authors write to meet a need. **5. IT IS AN ELECTRONIC FORMAT:** It must be in electronic format to be an eBook: PDF, doc, docx, epub etc. Most ebooks are pdfs. **WHAT IS AN EBOOK?** *WHY SHOULD YOU WRITE AN EBOOK?* **1. It establishes you as an expert** Imagine selling cloths as your main business and you have an ebook on how to dress well which you give to your clients as free bonus... They will uphold you as a fashion expert rather than someone who is trying to make endsmeet. **2. Write once and earn forever** I have sold out over 300copies of my scholarship guide. Just by sharing the file happily... I have made over 1000 times the cost of its production. **3. You reach many people quickly because of the speed of delivery.** With just a click, your buyer has received that book, no cost of delivery. **4. Build your audience/list** You can give out your eBook to get people on your email list. Or your contact list. **5. It's cost effective** I spent about 3000naira to produce my first book
Morning motivations Good morning 🌞, Hope this motivates you to keep doing what you do and don't give up....! "Although not all of us hold prestigious positions, we can all be the best at who we are. In life, our job does not make us more or less important. When each man does what he has been called to do and does it with great pride, the beauty of this world is seen. Many of us would feel as though we have fallen short when we assess our performance by the standards of this planet."
Forced Marriages - what do you think? **A story from a friend** Someone shared this story and needed some advice. I know this might help someone here. This one is about a young guy who was desperate to marry some years ago. He met a lot of ladies and he was seriously interested in marriage and not playing around, but each of these ladies kept disappointing him, breaking his heart, wasting his time and money, but they never intended to marry him. He was always disappointed but he kept forgetting and forgiving, hoping to get a perfect lady. Pastors prayed for him and told him he would find his wife. The last serious relationship he had, on one of the days he came to visit the fiancee, he met the fiancee's friend who gave him a wedding card of the the same lady he was about marrying. *So he has decided not to marry again despite that he's the only son and he is being pressurized by the mom to get her a grandchild* Here's my opinion on such matters; Well, have anyone noticed that if you are desperate to find something... Everything is going to be in disguise to make you think you found it.... All m saying is when we want something... Our feelings and emotions simply blinds out ...we tend to make unhealthy decisions because of that... In this situation, being desperate won't help.... Create time and watch things... You might be able to differentiate the real from the fake Being pressurized won't help... You are the one getting married not your mother...getting married to a wrong person isn't what you want....just take your time... Nothing good comes easily I would also take a walk from such relationship coz it shows you want yo marry because of two things. You are being pressured and your mum wants a grandchild.I have had such kind of experience that's why i can contribute to this. The joy of the Lord maketh rich and doesn't not add sorrow. He should be more prayerful and shun pressure from family and friends. Marriage is too long a time to be much in a hurry. My suggestion to the young man in question is; Love comes to those who believe although they have been disappointed.. Desperate people will always make mistakes.. When a man is desperate especially when it comes to issues concerning the heart, virtually everything that comes around might look it to him.. In as much as he desires to settle down and things are not working fine despite his commitment and sincerity.. I suggest he should PAUSE.. Its either he is ahead of his creator or he is behind his creator.. He needs to take audit of his spiritual environment.. He should stop trying to do it by himself.. Ephisians 1:18. Apostle was addressing the people of Ephesus and he says and i paraphrase him “ that the our eyes of heart be flooded with light that we may know and understand the hope to which we are called..” God is love... His thoughts for us is of good and not Bad... I urge him to PAUSE and take stock of his SPIRITUAL life... Please what do you suggest?
Little poem: I Will Heal When last did love pay homage to your grace, To the beauty that once was you, Oh, how the scales has lost its grip. Yesterday you were here, today you're there, Thought I gave in my all to have a place no matter how small, Can't a hopeful me find hope for any reason? I no longer see the glow in your eyes, Not the gold sparks of intense need, My body no longer craves the warmth your body holds. Like the food of your chest I'm slowing giving up, My eyes no longer desire to see your strange face, For thousand times you hurt me faster than tik tok. You made my eyes bleed that I couldn't see when you were gone, Don't tap my back no more for I see no future with you, Let the pain you caused grant my broken heart a new beginning. A new beginning, not without open wounds and scars, A new beginning away from your old ending, Let me search into the future alone if there is any chance pending. Let the wind understand my grievance and blow be in abundance, For I know if there is no money, my life will not be well spent.
Conviction 1Kings.18.25 - Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, "You go first, for there are many of you. Choose one of the bulls and prepare it and call on the name of your god. But do not set fire to the wood." 1Kgs.18.26 - So they prepared one of the bulls and placed it on the altar. Then they called on the name of Baal all morning, shouting, "O Baal, answer us!" But there was no reply of any kind. Then they danced wildly around the altar they had made. 1Kgs.18.27 - About noontime Elijah began mocking them. "You'll have to shout louder," he scoffed, "for surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or he is relieving himself. Or maybe he is away on a trip, or he is asleep and needs to be wakened!" 1Kgs.18.28 - So they shouted louder, and following their normal custom, they cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out. 1Kgs.18.29 - They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but still there was no reply, no voice, no answer. They really believed in their god Imagine them increasing tempo and cutting themselves They actually believe that he **exists** as thought by them. What a big falling hand Slavery or bondage of satan. Imagine having to serve a god that tells you to inflict pain on yourself just to get his attention. There are many interesting things from the actions of the prophet of Baal. **1. The prophet of Baal knew their god** To them, their god was the best, he could answer their prayers and petitions. They didn't even see what Elijah asked then to do as a big deal based on the previous things that they've seen their god do in their midst. **2 The prophets of Baal Trusted and Believed in their god** It's sounds silly but it's the truth, the kind of faith this prophets had ehhh, I tell you if believers have half of this kind of faith Wahala for the devil. It's not mustard seed kinda of faith if you know what I mean..... The believed 100 percent that Baal was going to answer.... I want us to know they didn't see any option B, backup plan or whatsoever... **3 The prophet of Baal had a Custom** We see them cutting themselves according to their custom. What's the custom of a believer today, *a lifestyle of prayers and daily studying of the word of God* Don't just see custom, they knew a principle that if they applied their prayers will be answered. Yes the principle was flawed I know, no you and me Shey we even know and understand basic principles of the scriptures like this ehh **4 The prophet of Baal didn't let their situation mock them** Instead of feeling defeated, They called on their god the more As believers when life throws challenges at us, When it makes it seems everything is going left left, remember, They drew near to Baal. Same should be expected of us.... No matter the situation, get More closer to him(God).... This is very important. Let it not be that it's not time you stop praying and studying; You stop fellowshipping I need you to understand that at this point..... It was so obvious that Baal was not going to answer them But this attitude of them, We need it as believers. Finally; 5. They followed Baal till the END, they followed him until they died.. They knew what was astake, even after the fire fell, they didn't deannounce Baal. Are we willing to follow this Jesus till the end like this. Many of us don't know the Jesus we are serving.... We are not sure of our Conviction at all. They did not say, Okay let's follow your God Elijah.... They were faithful till the end. I hope I been able to tell you in one way or the other.. That your understanding of Jesus is very important. How far are you willing to go..? Hold on to your God. At least we have seen from this story that serving the devil is stressful, plus going to hell again. It's not worth it.
Weather too cold! I quickly took tea this morning, Avery hot one.... Jeez, my wet clothes were dried, so I hurriedly wore three cardigans when I saw the second rain coming , this is how I shone my teeth😁 knowing full well of the adventure; if it was a sojourning. The hot tea came after taking bath with severely hot water. No matter what, I must overcome and overcame. Just a moment, my hand started freezing...." It's a lie" I said with a shaking mouth. "Kai, could this be the cause of a post I wrote sometime ago?..." Cold is working" as to compliment this cold to put more effort . The arranged bed was staring for who to step on....as I lied on it, "oh my goodness"...." Who pour water on the bed?" This question came as if the room is always open. My temperature was rising and falling. Sometimes you need to endure, ayaaai... enjoy?.... With my running speed I put on extra two cardigans, two socks, two water proof, two, every two in twos. That's how I overcame. I'm sharing this to help single ladies out there, I don't even care about the single guys, shaaaa....for the sake of eternity you can learn from here. Meanwhile, I don't know if this is end time cold. But God will help us. By now I'm almost sleeping feeling better, like no cold..... If you are too slim, don't try the method. Laughing out loud. Just having some fun this morning! Good morning to you.

Yes, you're not destined to be poor or ever broke again even if you do nothing save selling of one of these numerous information you have. You're actually a sought after helper to many who are still awaiting your emergence. Now, just sit back and think of how you can make those answers of yours materialize. You don't necessarily need to go preach to them about how you have solutions to their problems. Rather you should show them. For instance, if you used to have anger issues, people around you would definitely know about it. Now, when they see change, they'd be willing to listen to you in order to learn how you overcame. The same is applicable to someone who knows how to make delicious meals. People would come to learn from you. Then, from free tutorials, you can start charging for your services and before you know, people would be inviting you to seminars to take some sessions in your area of specifications. Nowadays, people who are good in Fashion are really expensive. What this means is that the whole world is a fashion show! If you have bad fashion sense, everyone would be looking down on you. Then the fashion designers are being looked for. They started from somewhere. They knew they had something in them and they had to make it manifest. You can't just sit back and do nothing, then expect the world to know you. Be established. Put that idea into practice. Be the solution the world wants to see! See you at the top.
Depression - The Easiest Way Out Once, I scribbled, "No matter how tough it gets, I will never walk out of life." Obvious option? Suicide. Yes, you read right. Definitely, suicide may hurt during attempt but just temporarily and then, you become numb to the agony of this life. Nonetheless, although suicide gifts humans exit from mortality; majority of its Victims still walk the streets. This is centred on the basis that life transcends beyond the breath of oxygen into our dreams and aspirations, constituting our identity. Plainly, YOUR DREAMS ARE YOU. We readily call those who bid mortality farewell by treading the suicidal path 'COWARDS' until we realise that we are no different. Thus, when next you are about to twist your nose at the news of another case, confirm that you are not infected. Perhaps we refrain from using the dangling rope or gulping down liquids or self-cuts; nevertheless, every trade on our ideas for something lesser produces the same result. Every time we bury our aspirations in order not to be seen as ambitious, we attune to suicide. When for want of hope, we trash our dreams, it's no different from the former. Eventually, we become shadows of ourselves, alienated from our dreams which become a mere distant echo. Too careful to live; a shadow of oneself. Good news! There is hope for us all....Our dreams can be given a new life. All it takes is a fresh breath--You can always draw strength from God to live above your fears and worries. It is not over until it is over. Step up! Sometimes, we tell ourselves lies, "I'm not good enough", "it is impossible", "I do not deserve it." Other times, we compare ourselves with everyone else, "She has it better off." " I just want to be like her". Oh Dear! If only you knew the demons we respectively have to fight daily then you will be content in being you. Just like a dose of sniper, these lies kill from inside out - Suicide. With each lie, we dig even deeper than 6ft to bury our dreams; or just may be, we prefer to burn it and scatter the ashes upon waters. I was told, based on certain belief systems, that until you bury a body, the spirit roams the earth. They say, it is only liberated upon fulfillment of the last rites. Perhaps this ideology permeates our lives and fuels the belief that in burying our dreams, we liberate ourselves. "My children will do better" - we console. This seems to explain the rationale behind some of our parents insistence on having us adopt their relative templates as against the life we truly desire. Unfortunately, we incorporate these alien dictates hoping for the future to live out our own lives. The hard truth is that there is no end to this cycle, however, the possibility of a break out does exists. Friends, liberty lies only in the unleashing of our dreams and not otherwise. Thus, consider it a crime against yourself whenever you deprive us of your worth and the fulfillment of your dreams. In Nigeria, suicide as well as attempted suicide is a crime. Actually, I often consider this hilarious, "if only our law makers knew that there are more prisoners roaming the streets than they are behind bars." To be continued...
Forgiveness of sins Personally, one of the things I celebrate about salvation is the fact that **once I confess– mention the sins, call them by their name– and repent– denouncing the sins. Not going back to them– of ALL my sins, THEY ARE CLEANSED.** After confessing and repenting, I have been given a clean slate. I am a new creature, old things have passed away, this means ALL the sins have gone. Sounds so...you know..wow, but it's the whole truth. This is what I celebrate and will always celebrate all the rest of my life because I know what I was cleansed from. 2Corinth 5:17 Digest that... Now, you need to also forgive yourself from those sins, because the devil can still use that well. Forgive yourself 🥺This is important. Also...the devil will remind you. He is not happy that you have left his ways nah. So what does he do? Remind you. He is called the accuser if the brethren, so he keeps telling you "ah, you that you have aborted 30 times, how do you think GOD loves you". Now, after you have confessed your sins and repented from them..you are a new creature. No, that life is no more yours. I want you to know that at this point, **the devil is lying**. Jhn8:44. He is the father of lies. I want you to know that when he reminds you...you remember that **he is a liar** and tell him that. Don't believe his lies. Then...GOD loves you While you were even a sinner (Rom5:8) HE loves you. I want you to know that HE left HIS home for you, was beaten for you, was insulted for you, died for you, humiliated for you. *FOR YOU* I mean, HE would have just stayed in Heaven shae? But HE said no, I love this sister. It is true, HE loves you... Know this. Now.. you know how you see a baby and you start talking to the baby, even though you know the baby is not yet talking.. and even if the baby has started talking..you started saying things to the baby and he doesn't respond, but you still continue. " gimme your biscuit nah, you don't want to share"..you get right? I want you to talk to GOD like this...in this case, GOD is not a baby, of course.. but shae you get my point When you want to sleep, talk to HIM. When you want to wash clothes, talk to HIM. Whether HE responds or not, just keep talking. I trust that GOD will do HIS own part. Now...GOD doesn't have to talk to you in a "come here my daughter" kinda Nigerian movie voice. No. HE can talk to you through novels 🥺, through music, through movies, through someone's status, through a billboard on the road, through, through dreams, through visions, through whatever means HE decides,...you just need to be open. Don't give HIM a way HE should speak to you. HE will come down to your level..the level HE knows you will understand. If you can't understand HIS voice through dreams, HE may use persons. Just know this. HE will speak to you in a way you will know. ...and you need to dwell in HIM. So keep talking, keep acknowledging HIM in ALL your ways–as you are bathing, brushing teeth–talk to HIM. And...when you get born again, it's not like your skin will change or your hair will disappear or so. No. Your Spirit, it happens in your Spirit. In fact, as you step out, the devil can decide to bring your former sins to you....I want you to know that you have Grace. Grace here is the ability to look sin into it's eyes and say "No". Grace is the ability to live above sin. It's like a boat in a river...the river is sin, the boat is you. The boat is above water, you are above sin. So remember this. .and just in case you fall, there is Grace to bring you back home. So...coming back from altar call doesn't mean that the ground will open or earthquake will happen. The changes occur in your Spirit.. And it is a walk..a walk you must be willing to do.
Bad Habits In Relationship: Some Advise please There is a lady (someone I know). She has been in a relationship and by last December, the spouse commenced arrangements for their marriage slated for April this year. By March, the lady started noticing some habits of her fiancee that was not right. She tried to stop them but each time she raised it, the fiancee would get upset and promise to address it after the wedding. This made her **Emotionally unbalanced** and she called off the wedding. But she still loves this guy cos he is a good man except for those few bad things she noticed about him. The guy on the other hand was disappointed, so he became angry after having spent a lot. This is scary, she should be careful.... Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.... "until death do us part" is not a fluke... It literally defines the entirety of your life Also, Compatibility in marriage is highly indispensable when choosing a life partner.. In as much as you may love your partner, there are these core qualities you cant do without and some that you may manage if missing.. The lady never set out what rocks her world with men.. Because if she did, once you come deep with a man, that is when u x-ray him on those things.. weigh him to know if you can role with him or not and not allowing him to go as far as almost taking you to the alter before quiting the relationship.. Honestly it is heart breaking.. However, the man saying he will change in marriage is what I can't concur with.. If he can't adjust to suite his new wife and the new wife can't tolerate that particular attitude, to me they are not good to go.. Compartibility has levels.. The man fails to understand this from his assumed wife's point of view and that is the challenge.. For the lady to cancel the marriage, she really detest that attitude...
Discerning My Man Of God Scriptures for study, meditation and prayer: **A) 1 Samuel 16:6-7 (CEV)** _When Jesse and his sons arrived, Samuel noticed Jesse's oldest son, Eliab. “He has to be the one the Lord has chosen,” Samuel said to himself. But the LORD told him, "Samuel, don't think Eliab is the one just because he's tall and handsome. He isn't the one I've chosen. People judge others by what they look like, but I judge people by what is in their hearts."_ **B) 1 Samuel 16:6-7 (NET)** _When they arrived, Samuel noticed Eliab and said to himself, “Surely, here before the Lord stands his chosen king!” But the LORD said to Samuel, "Don't be impressed by his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. God does not view things the way men do. People look on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."_ **C) 1 Samuel 16:6-7 (TLB)** _When they arrived, Samuel took one look at Eliab and thought, “Surely this is the man the Lord has chosen!” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by a man’s face or height, for this is not the one. I don’t make decisions the way you do! Men judge by outward appearance, but I look at a man’s thoughts and intentions.”_ **H) 2 Corinthians 5:16 (TLB)** _**"So stop evaluating Christians** by what the world thinks about them or by what they seem to be like on the outside. Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, merely as a human being like myself. How differently I feel now!"_ I know these scriptures seem a lot but please go back and read every line word by word. Even if you end up not reading my post, you would have caught the entire meat of today's prayer focus. Don't you just love the Bible? And I so looooove to play around with a lot of translations. They shed more perspective and will help you understand a passage from different angles. You should try it a lot often in your Bible studies. **D) 1 Samuel 16:6-7 (MSG)** _When they arrived, Samuel took one look at Eliab and THOUGHT, “Here he is! God’s anointed!” But God told Samuel, “Looks aren’t everything. Don’t be impressed with his looks and stature. I’ve already eliminated him. God judges persons differently than humans do. Men and women look at the face; God looks into the heart.”_ **E) Proverbs 3:5 (TPT)** _"Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on Him to guide you," and He will lead you in every decision you make."_ **F) 2 Corinthians 5:16 (CEV)** _"We are careful not to judge people by what they seem to be, though we once judged Christ in this way."_ **G) 2 Corinthians 5:16 (TPT)** _"So then, from now on, we have a new perspective that refuses to evaluate people merely by their outward appearances. For that’s how we once viewed the Anointed One, but no longer do we see Him with limited human insight."_ We need discernment as we make critical decisions in life, and marriage is no different. We need to be able to distinguish between good and bad, good and better (or best) and also between good and God. Because we don't merely want to marry good men. *We want our "men of God" - who have been prepared privately by God and now presented to us in public. Men who have been tested by God, and He has proven them to be faithful. We want men that God trusts that they are worthy of the hearts of His daughters. We want men who are perfectly suitable for us both in the now AND in future. And that can't be judged using metrics that meet the eye. **We know no man after the flesh!** We dare not trust our human understanding. We can't afford to go by our lists. No matter how fancy or spiritual it looks. We cannot afford to trust our interpretation of a "spiritual" man. Our yardsticks may be faulty. Looks are deceptive. He may be putting up a front. He could be Amnon who wants you just because of selfish reasons. You sure you can be able to tell all the time? Can you read hearts of men? Leave all the exaggerated sense of your ability to judge body language and character. You may still be wrong. Back to the topic at hand. To **DISCERN** means: To perceive, recognize, or comprehend with the mind To distinguish something as being different from something else; to differentiate. To perceive differences. To see, recognize, or understand something that is not clear: To come to know or recognize mentally. This is why we pray. For in prayer, we humble ourselves and admit before God that our human senses are limited and we are not good judges of character. In prayer, we recognize God's ability to see through the depths and crevices of human hearts and we relinquish control to Him. In prayer, we reaffirm our decision to trust Him fully knowing that His plans for us are good and never evil. And because He knows the future, He will give us an expected end. This is why we pray!
Real Issues Hello friends! What you're about to read is worth your time, and it can change your perception. Open your heart to receive the message encapsulated specially for you. Read till the end and share if you're led. Someone will always be blessed. So many times we get entangled with the thought that we are the only ones that have experienced what we are currently going through. I have seen people go through bitterness in their hearts, simply because they could not look up to see the God that loves them. Their heads were constantly bowed down under the deception of the devil, making them feel, see and experience condemnation. Most times they were led to believe it is God that put them there. Simply because they can never meet HIS expectation, they are failures and can never be His children. This is a lie from the devil. Do not believe it. God is love, and He has never stopped loving you no matter the dirty clothes you are wearing. It is TRUE you can not meet up on your own, but the TRUTH is God has provided the GRACE and ABILITY to please Him, through His Son JESUS CHRIST. Because Jesus has paid for our sins, we only but need to accept what He has done, admit our insufficiency, and ask for His help. It is only a man which has admitted his problem, that has truly started to fix it. Submit your life to God and trust He will come through for you. This is the lifestyle and summary of a believer. We believe in a God who has times and seasons in His hands, that can use the rough times in our lives to make us into the shape He desires. A God that can smoothen every crooked path and give us rest. He revitalizes our soul, restoring all that we lost, and gives us GRACE to do what honors Him. He is there to guide us in dark paths of death and fear, never leaving us alone for even a moment. HE IS ALWAYS THERE. That is why GOODNESS and MERCY will always follow us. Therefore choose right now to let go that unforgiveness, hurt, anger, failure. Choose ye this day to accept the light God beckons in your heart. May His name ever be glorified, Amen.
Some random thought this morning It is sad Very sad How we measure our success by the downfall of others. "Haven't you seen that woman who begs food on the street?. I thank God say I no dey beg" "Me and that girl went to the same primary school, today she is selling Bread and Akara and I have two Cars, who would have thought?" This sounds like a good report in your ears right? It shouldn't be. You shouldn't see your self succeeding because others are failing.. You can succeed without comparing people. It is a faulty basis for a testimony Even in our Christianity, We measure our spiritual soundness and righteousness by our abstainance from the sins others are commiting. At least we don't commit those ones."I do not steal to pay school fees, even as na give and take I do, e still better" "Even God knows that I can't sleep with married women, what happened to single girls?" You even mention God sef. To bear you witness you are not that bad Our yardstick is that Everybody is bad one way or the other. Nobody is pure you think. So it is okay to be bad as long as your bad isn't as bad as the bad that every body really considers as bad.. Really? Gehazi's feeling more justified than Samson And Herod's feeling less sinful than Judas.. Hey believer Bad doesn't reduce because Evil came in And sin doesn't stop being sin because an Abomination surfaces. All of us needs to run to the Throne of Grace to obtain Mercy and find HELP. All of us! Because our yardstick for judging our righteouness is faulty and we All need his one remedy.. Grace! Good morning from here!
Story time: Discernment Some 6 or 7 years ago, a dear sister to me almost married wrongly. She met this guy who seemed to tick so many boxes. A veterinary doctor with a successful practice based in Abuja. He was dark and tall, with a good body build. Seemed responsible enough. Was already building his own house in Abuja. And to cap it all, he seemed a good Christian. Very active member of Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship. In fact, he was a member of the executive. And she had met all his family members. Everyone loved and adored this sis of mine, including his mother. Her own family was very receptive of him too. I interacted with the guy and he seemed cool, to be honest. He is still a Facebook friend till date. Then a "prophet" came to pray for the girl's family. And went on to mention that the guy coming for her was her husband. And pointed out that he was at the verge of getting a car for her. Which the girl admitted for the first time to the hearing of everyone that the boyfriend, indeed, had such plans. That was the final confirmation. He must be "the one" for the prophet to "prophesy" this secret she was yet to share with anyone. Wedding preparations went into full mode. Dates were fixed. Introduction was done. Everyone was warming up for the traditional marriage. The asoebi material had been bought. Her ladies notified. All of a sudden, she calls it off. That she can't continue with the wedding. She had been ignoring all the subtle alarms in her head until God drops 2 Timothy 3:5-6 on her lap. That got her brain to reset. It was too risky. She admitted ignoring so many red flags one of which is emotional abuse. Wedding got called off. A year later, she met her now husband through his mum and aunt. Granted, he seemed a less preferred choice in comparison to the first guy. Was driving a beat-up Toyota Camry car then. Some inches shorter than the first guy. Wasn't bad looking though no match in facial features and body build in comparison to Vet. Dr. He lived in rowdy Lagos that she swore never to have anything to do with. He was a "normal" Christian with no title in church or fellowship plus no "prophet" gave a word over his head. Anyways, this was the one she finally married and they are living happily. We know no man after the flesh!* We refuse to evaluate by outward appearance! We refuse to marry based on what a mere human recommended! Until we get our convictions, we make no step!! Until we hear from the Lord, we remain single and satisfied!! **This is why we pray!** For discernment. For sight to see things and persons the way God sees them. For sound hearing. To pick even the slightest of God's sounds. For sensitivity! To pick the leadings of God. If for any reason, Samuel was hard of hearing that day or assumed the voice he heard was not God and went on to anoint Eliab, he would have thwarted destiny and ruined God's plans for Israel at the time. But Mercy said No. O Lord! Save me from myself. Help me not to lean on my own understanding.😭😭😭_ Since you think you know how to pick rightly, how come you are no different from the Samaritan Woman at the well? You have been in 3 or more relationships. You dated 7 men with a dozen undefined ones. And you still think you are a good judge of character. Isn't it high time you admit you make terrible choices and relinquish that privilege to God? **To God and not to ANY MAN!** Not to any prophet. Not to any seer. Not to any spiritual authority. Not to any parental authority. I don't care who they are and what they embody. If a whole Prophet Samuel almost crowned a wrong King, why do you think that human figure can never walk in error? *Humans, anointed or not, should confirm what you already know or will soon know...from God.* You cannot afford to walk into marriage based on someone else's convictions or based on their prophecy or discernment. *You should hear God for yourself.*

Faith Is Action! There are many definitions for faith. The topic on faith has been treated in many aspects. A lot of people have talked about this concept. But the Holy Spirit has been dealing with me on something.... The Bible says in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. And another version puts it thus: Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. **FAITH IS ACTION**! One thing you must know is that if you are not taking an action of faith...you're taking an action of fear. There's an action somewhere. Why haven't you started praying for the sick? Why haven't you started laying hands on the sick. Even the faith that brings salvation is an action. That's why the Bible said with the heart you believe and with the mouth confession is made into salvation. Crying will not change anything. I don't want to sound insensitive but crying doesn't change much. After Jesus wept he took an action and went to the grace of Lazarus and called him forth. You must have something that God can hold on to. And that's your faith. There are several examples in the Bible like; The wise men followed A Star believing they'll see the Messiah! The Hebrew believed God will come through for them!David believed that God had given unto him Goliath! I just thought of this - A lot of people believe in the coming of our Lord. BUT THEY DON'T HAVE FAITH. There's no proof that they're waiting for their Lord. There's no evidence of things not seen. There's no substance of things hoped for. They still live their lives anyhow. Like they own it. You can't see them and differentiate from a person in the world. That's not the faith Christ wants to meet on Earth when He comes Faith is not a declaration. Don't say I have faith to have faith.Faith is seen in your actions. And faith comes from hearing BY the word of God. What would prompt you to take those actions that can change your life or the life of others is the confidence you have in the word of God. What will cause you to stay holy and work out your salvation with fear and trembling is how much of the word of God you know. What would keep you patient even when the whole world seems crumbling...is gotten from the Bible. You know there are a lot of things that need to change in your life and you need to take those steps ...but your feet are wobbling... Pray that the Holy spirit help you.
Philosophies of life ¶ HAPPINESS is Being able to See the World as it Ought to be in Your mind and Living up with the EXPECTATION. ¶ DON'T say I don't Know, Get to Know it because Ignorance cost a Higher price than Attempting to Know. ¶ Knowing OTHERS is WISE enough BUT knowing YOURSELF well ENOUGH is the REAL KNOWLEDGE and the BEGINNING of CREATIVE insight to WEALTH. ¶ STUDY without AIM of APPLICATION only SPOIL one's brain MEMORY. In the very END, one will still REALIZE how LAME and EMPTY (s)he is. ¶ In SIMPLE language LET me SAY this, if YOU are not READY to DIE for it, then FREEDOM is EVER out of YOUR world. YOU are only an OBJECT to be opprYess until you DESIROUSH-LY demand for YOUR FREEDOM. ¶ The UNIVERSALITY of KNOWLEDGE can ONLY be LIMIT by one's level of IMAGINATION on HOW to APPLY or USE the KNOWLEDGE one has. ¶ No matter how SMALL the GOOD thing is, it can NEVER be ERASE by the BAD ones. ¶ The PROBLEM with PHILOSOPHERS is that they ATTEMPT to EXPLAIN the TRUTH when they are CONSCIOUSLY aware that MANY people DON'T like the TRUTH, but WHO can STOP the TRUTH? I'm so CATCH in this THING of OURS, so no GOING back, no STOPPING. ¶ The NOBLEST thing to BECOME is YOURSELF, what YOU were MEANT to BE. ¶ Some people FEEL the RAIN, some get WET while others DRINK from it. Ehn!!! MIND your MIND o, because this is RAINDROPS.

This is my season to SETTLED in my own PORTION! This is my season to be RECEIVED and not RESISTED by God's choice for me. This is my season for things in line with God's purpose for my marriage to happen to me! In the name of Jesus, I declare that my husband walks in the paths of righteousness and he is carried on the wings of the Spirit; therefore, we are brought together supernaturally for the will of God. I declare that my husband sees me as I am in God and he receives me quickly as a FULL and FINAL expression of God's gift to him!!! Indeed, he who is mine is a faithful man of God, full of discernment and vision; moved by the Word and prosperous in all affairs of life. I declare that this SEASON is a MOMENT in the SPIRIT and natural laws are defied supernaturally. I will not be limited by the natural order of things, but situations in the environment line up to favor God’s work in my marriage. Everyone who hears what the Lord has done for me this year will rejoice with me! Hallelujah!!
Public Minister Now if you've been following my recent posts, you'd like to read this till the end. From where I stopped last... After that powerful ministration at the youth church and all the signs and wonders that followed that Morning, I began having series of invitations to minister at programmes. It is funny how news spreads. What's more amusing is how people talk about the vessel than the miracle worker Himself. I turned down so many ministrations, some by the Holy Spirit's order but most were my decision. This would always annoy Simon. "You are denying GOD access..." He would always say. I had my personal reservations. I didn't know how people would see or receive me. I didn't want too much attention. Already there's the talk of "girly boys" being gay already. In my message box on social media was enough pestering from people who wanted relationship and sex, majority being men or boys rather. To me, being a “public minister” was me opening doors for trouble. Nevertheless, there was this ministration I couldn't decline. It was from my father's mentor and also a model to me; Pastor Dunsin. The letter was sent directly to my uncle, seeking my presence at the then Youth Fire Conference. My uncle called that faithful Friday morning to inform me. I had an option but I had no option. (Hope you understand?).... I just had to start preparations. Simon on the other hand was all excited about the new development. "You have to use all that GOD has deposited in you for His Glory hereon Earth..." He said. I had just two days to put my house in order. I got an email that afternoon from the youth president. He informed me of my flight arrangements. He asked if I had band members. I thank GOD I didn't laugh over the phone. Band! Where? Who's banding? Simon and I travelled a day before the programme. Few minutes after leaving Zaria we were in PortHarcourt. It was my first time flying “alone” at first class and without protocol members around. It was just Simon and I. The moment we alighted from the plane, a tinted car which obviously had been waiting for our arrival picked us up. I found the treatment too extravagant. I didn't even have hit songs like GUC, Tee Zion, Youkay and the rest, yet, all this pampering. I wondered how people around took the whole drama. I still wondered if they bothered. After all “nobody cares”. "A dead person must rise oh! With all these treatments we are receiving..." I whispered to Simon. We both laughed. But I meant it! "We would simply let GOD be GOD", He replied relieving. **** After two hours of blasting in tongues with Simon at the hotel, we freshened up and hit the road to the venue. Then I finally saw the youth president. A chubby handsome man he was. I saw that he was struggling to walk; his tummy must be a big yoke. On seeing me, he rushed to me with a hug. "God bless you and thanks for honouring us..." He said still hugging me. It was just GOD and I that knew how I wished he would just disentangle himself from me. He so squeezed himself into me that I almost choked. "Thank you sir..." I kept saying. I knew how handsome I was that evening. You know when you are looking good and you know it, you do right? Simon and I had dressed as the Holy Spirit instructed; all white. Bethel as the cathedral was named was twice bigger than Better Life Church. With all the glorious interior decoration and lighting, it could pass for a tourist centre. The organization was something to study. The place wasn't occupied fully that evening but it houses over 5000 youths as I was later told. Truth be told, I was nervous. I had even forgotten the first song I planned on starting with. I held hands with Simon who sat beside me muttering some prayers. The anchor introduced the youth president. It was then I knew that the young man I hugged was Pastor Dunsin's Son. That was a big deal I didn't pay so much attention to. "Why is it that you pastor's children always start of as youth presidents?" Simon asked jokingly. I heard him but I acted like I didn't get the joke. A weird grin was all I replied with. A lot was going on in my head at that moment. He noticed and kept mute. I mounted the pulpit and I heard the Holy Spirit telling me to do Theophilus Sunday's “Take It Away”. I did as instructed and I saw GOD's glory all over the place literally. People had teary eyes. I saw spiritual hunger. I saw thirst for GOD, young people loving on the LORD. The atmosphere was unusual! The most beautiful part were the souls that were won for GOD that evening. My dad used to tell me of Angels appearing while he ministered. I saw them that evening. They were behind me and all over the auditorium. That atmosphere birthed my debut single. The song dropped in my spirit as Simon struck a chord on the keyboard. That was the song that opened my ministerial door. The congregation chanted the song and I heard angels literally singing along. It was scary but I loved all that happened. At some point I was oblivious to the fact that I was on Earth. The video took over social media and the song took off from there. At the hotel that night something funny happened, while I was trying to change my clothes... Simon walked up to me... Knelt down... And asked me to speak over his life, I laughed really hard. "Just stop this. I'm not in for jokes I'm worn out, jor?" I said, trying to ward him off but he wasn't joking. I held hands with Him and began praying in the Holy Ghost. As I prayed he responded in tongues and finally he was on the floor, soaked in power. "Why did you do that?" I asked him when he finally got up. The young man didn't respond. I knew what that meant; that is, “you won't understand”. In other news, in one night I had become so popular (that's what it looked like online). The song, “Chant - Mount Zion” was already going viral. People had converted the video into audios and short video clips. I had series of emails that night. I was teary. I couldn't even respond to all the messages. The video of my ministration as at 12am had 200,000 views on my YouTube channel. I dropped a quote on my Facebook page – “Let GOD Be GOD”. And the reactions I got made me wonder why GOD was doing everything so fast, even when I wasn't ready. ***** The following day, Simon and I had plans of exploring PH city a bit before leaving later that evening as church duty kept calling. We had kit up to first hit the gym at the hotel before anything else. Suddenly, a call came in from Pastor Dunsin's secretary. He said Pastor Dunsin would be paying me a visit at the hotel. The call frightened me. This is Pastor Dunsin, “CAN” president! One of the country's “biggest” pastors coming to see me in my hotel! I knew we had something - a relationship I got from being my father's son, but this was big. I begged to see him at his office but I heard he insisted on coming. Simon and I sat at the reception to await his arrival. It was the least we could do. On seeing him and his company I ran to meet him. I was just about prostrating to greet him but he resisted me, held me up and hugged me tightly (patting my back). Hugging must be a family thing for them. He was as huge as his son but his son was bigger. "You look just like your father," He praised. I just kept smiling. I was confused but Simon was clueless. The young man didn't know how to react to the whole scenario. As he entered my room, he sat on the bed refusing my offer to sit on the couch that I had dusted four times or more. He told me he came to do three things. First, he gave me an envelope with a silver like parcel. "Read the content before opening the gift." He instructed. Next, he asked me to kneel; he took a jar of oil from his suit and anointed me. He said it was oil for greater exploits. "Next level anointing" he had called it. I was overjoyed! I thought the third thing was for him to leave, but the moment he drove off I got an alert of 5 million Naira. I couldn't breathe at a point. (Please don't laugh). Money is powerful. I wouldn't scream at the reception so I raced upstairs to spread the good news. "Simon, guess what?!" I screamed as I got into the room. Simon didn't have the look I expected. “I should be asking you to guess what's written in this piece of shit..." he replied furiously pointing to the piece of paper he had torn in two already. "What's in it?" I asked trying to put the pieces together. "The summary of that letter is that our most revered pastor is GAY! He is a holy gay!" Simon screamed "He even asked you to send your response to his son. Meaning the fat fool partners with his gay father! Oh Jehovah! Where’s your trumpet!?" Simon was really mad that afternoon. I couldn't seem to pacify him or at least get him to sit and quit pacing round the room. "There's one thing you must do with your influence," He started, "Make a post about this on your blog. Today" A post, I wouldn't do that! What do I write? How do I start tarnishing such a man's image? Even my thoughts were against me. I tried to dissuade Simon on the whole post thing but he was really adamant. "Ok. I will. But I won't add any name. I would make it as vague as possible" "Why? Why?!!! That man has so much influence!" "First Corinthians 4 verse 5, Simon. Remember?" “Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the LORD comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God”... NKJV "It doesn't apply here, man! It doesn't! This is clear. This same book chapter 5 condemns this nonsense!" At this point Simon was already stammering. I understood that part of him well. "This act can’t just stop with us," he continued, "Who knows how many people he's done this with nah? Ah GOD!!! GOD!!!! What's up with the trumpet nah..." "That's enough Simon. You're becoming judgmental already. Let me figure out what to do with this five million" "What five million?" "Pastor Dunsin sent me five million" "Five what?!?!" To be continued.....
What Do You Have To Offer? If you really followed me from the start of this journey, I'm sure you enjoyed it. So from the last part, "Boy-girl".... I was driven to the office that afternoon. All through the journey I kept making supplications in my head that my dad doesn't do anything too rash. I didn't even know what to expect - Would he baptize me with slaps? Will he give me holy strokes? I just kept pleading with the LORD to have His way. The Bluetooth player in my ear was in conformity with my predicament; it kept shuffling the perfect songs for the moment. Getting to the office door, I heard dad's keyboard playing loudly and he was singing Don Moen's “I will sing”. Dad had this beautiful baritone voice. I am sure the result would have shocked him if I didn't sing well. I can never forget days in church he would just sit on the keyboard and sing...and GOD's glory would fill the whole church, blessed memories indeed. I knocked. He didn't respond. Then I knocked again and he opened up. He was smiling. I didn't know how to react to that. I surely didn't reciprocate the smile. I simply followed behind him as he walked back to the keyboard. He struck a chord. "Sing me that song by Tee Zion...Live again", he said, still having his eyes on the instrument. I started singing. I did the first line and he stopped. "I would take the key one time higher. I feel you are too comfortable. Now, sing." I never used to like when he said I was too comfortable singing, but it had brought out nothing but the best out of my vocals. I started again. "Sometimes...I wish I could just die I've had my share of pain I've had my share of heart break, heartache 'Times, when I look in the mirror I don't see who I should be All I see is hate. Yeah Yeah... " "Hey! What’s that? Have you been eating frogs", dad screamed. We both laughed. I didn't hit that note correctly. He got up and moved to his seat. I was standing, that's how sinners do, right? "Sit.", he instructed with his sweet smile that got me scared. “I want to discuss with you, my dear son..." (I know dad. Go ahead. Finish me. Lay me down) "But we would do something first. We would eat. I'm hungry and obviously you are." Eat? If he was not my dad, I would have suspected he had plans to kill me. I had just brought shame to his name and all I see is my favourite food served in front of me. I was already salivating as he got up to serve both of us. (If this food could kill, dying won't be a bad idea.) We ate, quietly, except for him humming the chorus of Live Again as he ate. I really rushed my food. Hunger had a grip on my soul. I chunked down mine and his too. "There's this story about two women I would love to share with you..." he started. I loved his stories though they always came whenever I did something wrong. The last time I heard a story, I had broken the glass pulpit on the altar while playing. "They lived close to each other," he continued, "and it was just a fence that demarcated both compounds. One of them reared animals in her compound; goat, sheep, cow and all that. You know what she does? Everyday she takes her animal dungs and throws them into the other woman's compound. I believe you know why she does this; to start up a quarrel with her neighbor and all that but she didn't get that. Do you know what the other woman did?" I didn't answer. I just had my eyes fixed on him. I shook my head though. "She prayed for her enemy..." I said to myself. "She had this big garden in her compound, so when the dung decomposes she uses it as manure for her garden where she plants flowers. So, one day she plucked very beautiful flowers, put them in a vase, wrapped it and took it to her neighbor. The woman was so excited to see the gift. The one who brought the gift sat the other down and told her: “We give what we have. You gave what you had, animal dung, and I am here to give you what I have, this bouquet of flowers” Of course you should know the effect this will have on the neighbor..." He paused again. I was patiently waiting for the rhema. "I believe this should remind us of our relationship with Jesus. What we gave HIM versus what HE gave us in return. We condemned HIM to death. We flogged HIM. We spat on HIM. We stripped HIM off HIS clothes. We nailed HIM to a stake. We pierced HIM on HIS side and we killed HIM. Somehow, it wasn't our fault. It was all we had to give. We gave what we had, just as the woman gave dungs. But for all the stripes we gave JESUS, HE made for us healing. For the crown of thorns, a crown of glory. For the bitter water, HE gave us the water of life. And even when we killed HIM, HIS dying destroyed our deaths. When HE arose, HE restored our lives. HE gave us His life that we might live forever. HE never reacted to our ignorance and stupidity. But HE gave love and HE expects us to offer to the world what HE offered us. If people do wrong to you, take it that that is all they have to offer. You, what do you have to offer? Evil? Or love? This is something I want you to hold on to all your life..." That story was deliverance for me. After that story I genuinely gave my life to CHRIST and received HIS life. Dad laid hand on me and I was baptized in the Holy Ghost and for the first time I sincerely spoke in tongues. It was a life changing experience. I felt my life started that day. He pulled me up and hugged me tightly. I was in tears. He kept saying “I love you”, and I believed every word. If I had known that would be my last talk with him I would have asked him more questions. The following day was the day he took the journey of no return. Nobody got to see his corpse. But his last words became my daily declaration. He said: “Let no one despise you. Let no one define you. You are not ordinary. You are soaked in red, your conscience washed with pure water; you live in the Holy Ghost. You are not a regular boy; you are “Another Kind Of Boy”. Beautiful things happened to me afterwards. I started loving. I started writing. I believed more in myself. To be continued...
Boy-girl From where I stopped in the last article yesterday, "words for you"... Simon and I have been friends since we were five. It all started out beautifully. That day, 22nd of September was my birthday and my mum planned to mark it. Just as we rounded off the assembly, my mum drove in. Teachers flocked around to greet her. She brought cup cakes for all my class mates and packs of juice. I was so elated to see her. Our maid then, Sarah, kept offloading stuff from the car, and then I saw the gigantic cake she bought. This got me jumping. I could see the amazement of everyone. Not just my class but the whole school. My teacher asked us to sit in a circular position so they could sing the usual birthday song. Suddenly, Mrs Afuye, Simon's mother walked in with a big bag. The moment our teacher ran to help her with her bag, she drew our attention. Surprisingly, it was also Simon's birthday. His mother brought two cartons of cabin biscuits, packs of sweet and juice for the class. "We have two celebrants!" My teacher screamed and everyone in class was very happy. From then on, both mothers became friends. The Afuye’s joined our church and became one of the cornerstones of Better Life Church. As for the both of us, it just happened that destiny caused us to love each other dearly and genuinely. He could come to my house and stay for weeks and even months, I also did same. The church was still small so we joined the main choir as early as 10 and then Simon learnt how to play diverse instruments and I started singing from there. *** When it was time to get into high school, my parents decided that both of us would attend the same school and this got both of us totally excited. Though, the Afuye’s couldn't afford all the tuition fee, they gave their quota and my parents made it up. I didn't add that my late mum later made Mrs Afuye the proprietress of Better Life Primary School. It was still the church's property though. High school days were one of the worst days of my life! I started off as a border in one of the most prominent schools in Kaduna as at then. People always had reasons to humiliate, bully, insult and embarrass me because of my make - my mannerisms. Rarely did I hear anyone call me by my name in school, even amongst my classmates. I had the set of people who called me “Boy girl”. Another, “woman wrapper”, especially the girls. I had another set that called me “Gabriel”. I thought it was Angel Gabriel till I saw them write "Gay-brell" on the board one day. The humiliation was just too much to bear. I would never forget when one girl, Ralia, the daughter of Senator Ahmed, said I was born by mistake and an error in creation. Boys mocked me and said my hormones were incomplete; the last thing that would have made me a man was missing. As intelligent as I was, I was still downtrodden. When I ask people for something or maybe go get something at the store, I see the way people mimic me as I pass. I hear the silent whispers; I hear the outburst of laughter that follows any time I make a move. I pleaded with my dad as he was the closest of my parents to allow me come home rather than board in the hostel, but he refused. Going to the bathroom, some guys would pull off my towel from my waist to see if I had a penis. One day, blood was spilled on my bed spread and guys took it round saying that I had seen my first period. I had many other bitter experiences I wouldn't love to talk about. But for Simon, I would have become deeply depressed and maybe taken my life. There were days he literally fought for me. At some point people never insulted me when I walked with him. Then the talk about me being in a queer relationship came up, some people even made up stories of both of us having sex in the bathroom and all that. Yet, Simon stood by me. Never did he take their words to heart. I thought that after the graduation ceremony in JSS3, having received several laurels and being the student with the best Junior WAEC result in Kaduna that people would begin to show some respect, but that didn't work. So I shut down on people and stuck to Simon. I made a shell for myself and I stayed there. I stopped answering questions in class. I didn't talk to people. I took all the insults till I started becoming accustomed with them. There were days I would cry to the LORD to recreate me. I begged him to make me at least like Simon. There were days I stood in front of my mirror at home rehearsing how to be a man. I started paying attention to soccer as the boys in the hostel did but the hate didn't just stop. The moment you think everyone loves you is when they need food stuff, money or maybe help with academic problems...the next moment you are the 'bitch'. The fact that they say I sleep with men made me feel terrible. One faithful day, I was walking along the corridor; three junior students were walking towards me. They were trying to make fun of me. They bent down like girls and said "Good morning senior boy-girl" I was mad! I turned back. The other two ran off but I caught one. I beat the living hell out of him. "Don't you ever...try...that...again..." I stammered, still beating him. Unfortunately for him, we were the only ones around that day. Unfortunately for me, the boy was asthmatic and I had caused him an attack. He was losing his breath. Fear had a total grip on me. I rushed him to the sickbay. The nurses asked to find out what happened, I wouldn't lie, so I told them. My case got to the proprietor’s desk, my father was summoned and he had to pay for the damages caused. Yet, I was still expelled. I believe I was expelled because the boy in question happened to be the son of a high profiled man. Shame beclouded me that day. It's difficult to express how I felt that day in black and white. It was not the worst day of my life but it was the icing on the cake. As I packed my things in the hostel, I fought back tears. My roommates didn't say anything. I got in to see stick notes on my bed with sorry words and words of encouragement. Then I got to realize that within those insults was love for me. Simon knew of all that had happened but he couldn't see me because at the time he was being hospitalized for typhoid. I didn't know how to face him and even my family. My dad was a very popular person and I was certain this incident would make it to the news the next day. It did because the 'victim' was the son of XP, a popular TV personality. The following day, I was driven home. I got into the house and as expected I saw the house full of people. They were discussing till I stepped in. My mum, aunties and church members were present. I knew what was at stake for me. I greeted. I got the “hmmmmm” response. "Drop your things upstairs. The driver would take you to the church, your dad wants to see you...", my mum said with her face affixed to her phone. "Bó yé má sé bí obínrín níyén - That's how he behaves like a woman", my aunt snapped, looking at me in disgust. I wish I could slap her. "Ibunkun, shut up!” Mum clapped back. I dropped my bag on the couch and raced up stairs. I cried, bitterly. To be continued...
