Slovenia has its own romantic road that winds through vineyards and forms a heart shape from a certain perspective. The heart among the vineyards has even become one of the most recognizable Slovenian sights. With it, even the French advertised their vineyards.
Right next to the border with Austria there is a lovely road that winds through vineyards and creates a romantic atmosphere, which makes Svečina a special place where you can express your love or just use it for a nice one- or multi-day trip. You can refresh yourself and stay at one of the local tourist farms. The view is beautiful in all seasons - in winter and autumn the shape of the road is especially pronounced due to the fallen leaves, and in spring and summer it is adorned with green surroundings. There are several stories about the origin of the road, one of which says that "the farmers looked a little too much into the glasses when building the road, so the road was taken wrong and in the end got the image of a heart". On a nearby farm, however, they say that the bends were made for practical reasons - so that the slope would not be too steep. Whatever the truth - the result is beautiful.
Even in Dubai, they have their own heart, which is not formed by a road, but by a lake or two.
Not that megalomaniacal Dubai lacks attractions of one kind or another, but every year it joins such a long list. The overlapping heart-shaped lakes were mapped to the world map in November 2018. These are artificial lakes (officially called Love Lake) brought to the world by Dubai's heir to the throne, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, after sharing photos of the lake on his Instagram profile. Since then, the location has been a popular tourist attraction and probably the most romantic place in the United Arab Emirates or even on the Arabian Peninsula.
The lakes are located in the middle of nowhere (read: in the middle of the Al Salam desert or in the Al Quadra oasis, near the Quadra lakes), quite far from the 'crazy' Dubai (about 60 kilometers from the Burj Khalifa), and appear as a mirage. While you can’t count on plenty of shade around the lakes, which stretch to 550,000 square feet, the vegetation is quite lush, and the greenery that grows there also has a romantic note, as many trees and other plants are ‘woven’ into the heart. or one way or another they symbolize love (a total of more than 16,000 plants grow in the middle of the desert), and romance is also reflected in rocks, waterfalls, fountains, and wells. The park is home to more than 150 species of birds - among other things you will encounter ducks, swans and eagles - and is intended for walks, picnics, recreation and walking pets if they are used to the heat. And another good news: site visits are free.
