Google means excellent magic! Google Maps is a unique feature of Google that is magically attractive in the world of information technology. Even a few years ago, if you wanted to go somewhere unknown, you had to ask ten people to find the road and then leave. But thanks to information technology and Google Maps, no part of the world is unknown now! No matter where you want to go, if you search the map, you will find the way immediately. Although Google Map is popular all over the world, many people in our country have not yet become accustomed to it. So let's get to know some great tips and tricks of Google Map, so that you can easily identify unfamiliar places using Google Map. If you get lost, or don't recognize a road, Google Maps will work for you like Aladdin's Lamp!
What is Google Map?
Google Maps is a web mapping service developed by Google. It helps us with satellite imagery, street maps, 360 panoramic views of the street (street view), real time traffic conditions (Google traffic), and location for foot, car, bicycle, or public transport. The company was created by Google in October 2004, which turned it into a web application. Following the additional acquisition of a real estate data visualization company and a real-time traffic analyst, Google Maps was launched in February 2005. If you want to know the location of a place with Google Maps, first you have to open Google Maps (www.google.com/ maps).
Distance measured anywhere
What is the distance from Rangpur to Dhaka? Or home from your workplace? Although it sounds hard to think of, you can instantly figure out any distance using Google Maps.
For this you first need to hold the drop pin in the location from where you want to measure the distance. Then when you press the drop pin, how many options will come, from there you can measure the distance by clicking on ‘Measure Distance’.
Opportunity to let me know where you are at every moment
A few days ago Rupa was going to Khulna by bus, suddenly his friend Ankhi wants to know on his mobile phone where is he now? Rupa is going to Khulna for the first time. He could not tell the location of the moment as the road was unknown, but his friend Ankhi asked him to tell the location using Google Map, then Rupa easily told him his exact location using Google Map. Let us know how we will let others know our location at the necessary moment. Share your location in real time, a feature can be found on Google Maps. This will allow you to let others know where you are now. For this you have to click on Share Location from the menu. Then by selecting Duration, you can select people from Google Contacts and start location sharing among them.
Traffic jams
If you could see on a map which roads were jammed and which roads were empty, you would surely have saved a lot of time, wouldn't you? Google Maps has brought live traffic updates to give him a chance. It has been running in the developed world since 2006 but has been launched in Bangladesh recently.
To use it, you need to go to the 'Traffic' option by clicking on 'Real Time Traffic' from the map menu and then from 'Live Traffic' to 'Typical Traffic'. When the traffic option is turned on, you will see green, yellow, orange and red colors on the road on the map. If you see the green color, you will understand that there is no traffic jam on the road now. If you see orange color, medium traffic jam and red color, you have to understand the traffic jam, so it will be possible to avoid traffic jam very easily.
The question is, which road is jammed and which road is empty, how does Google figure it out? Google uses 'crowd sourced data' to find out. In other words, if the location service is turned on on the smartphones of the people who are driving on the road, then Google collects traffic data from them and makes indicators. With this, Google calculates the number of vehicles on the road, how fast the vehicles are running, and gives the news of the jam.
Recognize new roads
Suppose you are new to an area, then you can easily identify the roads of that area through Google Map. Using Google Maps, you can find any place you need.
Street view
Google Street View is a past road trip. With a huge screen of vehicles scattered around the planet, their target is repeatedly circling the accessible roads they can find, all the while taking 360 degree photos wherever they go. Based on the GST directives on their vehicles, Google covers its street view image on its base map. Street View offers much more than just a Silver Panorama on the street and in the destination.
Using advanced-optical axis recognition (OCR) capabilities, Google can ‘read’ things like road signatures, traffic signs and business names. These additional readings are processed and converted to navigational and direct data, so that the map can be included in its database. If a street name has changed from last night's picture, another recent street scene picture will identify it. It also (partially) created Google's huge database of local business details.
Local guides
Google has millions of so-called local guides. Local guides are a feature that will remind you of Foursquare and it is trying to gather a level of data collection for more people based on Google's base map. When you're on Google Maps, go to My Contributions and you can search different places in your area. By leaving a review, answering a few questions, and submitting a photo, you can contribute to this extra level of data. This local knowledge helps the map to know things like the vibe of a cafe, whether there is parking in a hotel or whether there is a restaurant option. In return for contributions, users can earn increased savings in Google Drive, such as rewards.
How to run Google Maps without internet
Here is the Google Map Telesmati. Once you download the map of an area, you can know the roads of that area without any internet connection. The next time you go somewhere, you can download a map of the area in advance, wherever you go — mountains, deep jungle — there will be no fear of getting lost anywhere!
