February 14 is World Love Day or Valentine's day. Man is born and raised with love in mind.
Love became the source of all happiness and the attempt to survive. So the day of 14th February is a day to remember all relationships and all ages.
We all know the story of the origin of Valentine's Day. Yet this day, whose name is celebrated worldwide every year, is not to be missed on this day of warmth.
The story of Valentine's Day begins with Claudius II, the oppressive Roman emperor, and St. Valentine, a Christian priest and physician. In the third century, Emperor Claudius instructed the entire Roman population to worship 12 gods and goddesses.
At that time, preaching Christianity was strictly forbidden. Even associating with Christians was punishable by death.
Meanwhile, St. Valentine was devoted to Christianity. He did not hesitate to practice Christianity for fear of death. But whatever happened, Emperor Claudius imprisoned him.
In the last weeks of Valentine's life, something magical happened. The prison guard at the prison where he was imprisoned was impressed by Valentine's wisdom. The jailer told Valentine that his daughter, Julia, was blind by birth, and that Valentine could teach her a little.
Julia could not see with her eyes, but she was very intelligent. Valentine read Julia the history of Rome and taught her arithmetic. He used to describe nature by word of mouth and tell details about God. Julia saw the unseen world through Valentine's eyes. He believed in the wisdom of Valentine, the quiet image of Valentine was the power of Julia.
One day Julia asks Valentine-
- Valentine, does God really hear our prayers?
- Yes, he listens to everything.
- You know what I pray every morning and night? Pray, if I could see. I want to see everything I see from your mouth Valentine.
- If we trust God, He will do what is best for us. Valentine replied.
One day while praying, Julia regained her sight. But the time has come for Valentine's Day. An angry Claudius set the date for the execution of St. Valentine. The day was February 14, 270.

The day before his death, Valentine wrote a letter to Julia. At the end of the letter was written, From Your Valentine. Valentine died on February 14 and was buried at the site of Proxidas Church in present-day Rome.
It is said that Julia planted a pink flowering almond tree near Valentine's grave. From there the almond tree is a symbol of lasting love and friendship.
Later, in 498, Pope Gelasius I proclaimed February 14 as Valentine's Day.
But many of us may not know how or where this day came from. A brief history of Jenin's World Love Day at a glance.
It is said-
In ancient Rome, February 14 was a holiday in honor of the Roman goddess Juno. Juno was believed to be the goddess of women and love. According to some, this was the reason why February 14 was Valentine's Day. Some say that the Roman emperor Claudius banned marriage in the country in 200 AD. He announced that from today no young man will be able to get married. Just fighting for the youth. According to him, if young people get married, who will fight? A young man protested against the unjust declaration of Emperor Claudius. Whose name is Valentine. The emperor was furious at the protest of the infinitely brave young man. He was sentenced to death for treason. He was beheaded on the morning of February 14. Valentine's Day has been celebrated ever since to commemorate Valentine's sacrifice for love.
However, this is not universally recognized. There is disagreement here too. According to some, there was a physician named Valentine in ancient Rome. He was very kind to the patients. Because it was difficult for sick people to take medicine, he used to give bitter medicine mixed with wine, milk or honey. That doctor converted to Christianity. Christianity was not popular in ancient Rome at that time. Believers in this religion were punished. One day a Roman jailer brought his blind daughter to Valentine for treatment. Valentine promised he would treat her as best he could. While the girl was being treated, one day Roman soldiers came and tied up Valentine. Valentine realized that he would be killed for being a Christian. Valentine was executed by order of the Roman Emperor Claudius on February 14, 260 AD, according to 269 CE Earlier, Valentine had written a note saying goodbye to the blind girl. After killing her, the jail gave the main note to the girl. It read, "It's your Valentine." Inside the note, the girl saw the surprisingly beautiful color of the spring yellow trouser flower, because in the meantime the Valentine's treatment had restored sight to the girl's blind eyes. For these feats of love, Pope Gelasius declared February 14th as Valentine's Day in 496 AD. Since then people have been celebrating this day as Valentine's Day.
There is another difference of opinion as to the origin of Valentine's Day. People of this opinion say that sending a message of love to a loved one has nothing to do with Valentine. In ancient times, people believed that February 14 was the wedding day of the birds. The birds lay their eggs in the second week of the second month of the year. Some say that in the late Middle Ages, people believed that the birds' mating season started from this day. Birds look for mates. Seeing the birds, people also choose mates on this day.
Although Valentine's Day originated in 498 AD, it did not receive much publicity in the early days of the world. In the West, birthday celebrations and religious festivals are the main topics of enjoyment. So they do not refrain from drinking even inside the church. The French government banned the celebration of Valentine's Day in 18, accusing Christianity of being destroyed due to Valentine's Day. The ruling Puritans in England once banned the celebration of this day administratively. In Austria, Hungary and Germany, the day was rejected by the people and the government at various times.
At the present time, the value of Valentine's Day has increased tremendously. At present in the west this festival is celebrated in grand style. People in the United Kingdom and the United States spend tens of millions of dollars on this day. People buy cards, flowers, chocolates and other gift items for Valentine's Day. About 30 million greeting cards are exchanged in the United States on this day.
Today, on Valentine's Day, love, affection and devotion are exchanged in different relationships in addition to lovers.
