One day when i was scrolling on Facebook i saw a video containing a scene of a certain K-drama it piqued my interest and i decided to watch it, because of that certain video i continue to watch K-dramas. Today i will be reviewing my TOP 5 K-dramas. But before that, we should know first what K-drama is. Korean dramas also known as K-dramas are Korean-languange television programs produced in South Korea. Korean dramas are popular around the world, thanks in part to the growth of Korean popular culture or as we known as Korean wave and Korean dramas had some significant effect not only in Korea but also in foreign countries. Did you know that the first television series that was aired by KBS or the Korean Broadcasting System in 1962 was titled Backstreet of Seoul? Now let's talk about my TOP 5 K-dramas.
5. Vagabond
Vagabond tells the story of the stuntman Cha Dal-geon, played by Lee Seung-gi, who is involved in a fatal plane crash and discovers a national corruption scandal in the process. Bae Suzy portrays Go Hae-ri, the eldest daughter of a deceased marine, who decided to work for the National Intelligence Service as a secret ops agent.
This is one of my favorite K-dramas, the twist and suspense scene especially in the last episode is good, the fight scene is so intense that i almost kick the person who is sitting beside me and the drama's plot twist is surprising. The only flaw that i see in this drama is that Cha Dal-geon is like superman he does not get tired or hurt he seems to be invincible and remember he is a stuntman. The part that saddened me is that where his nephew died, i just can't handle that scene, they argued before his nephew took off to the plane, he bought a pair of shoes for his nephew as a sorry gift, but he did not expect that tragedy will happen. And i placed this K-drama on number 5 because i was unsatisfied especially in the last episode, i keep imagining what the story might turn out to be like i am excited about the reunion of Cha Dal-geon and Go Hae-ri because Go Hae-ri thought that Cha Dal-geon is dead, i need season 2. But overall, this drama is touching.
4. Kingdom
Kingdom follows the story of crown prince Lee Chang and his servants as they investigate a burgeoning political conspiracy and rumors about the king when they come upon an odd plague that resurrects the dead, the story set during Korean Joseon Dynasty
This drama embarks in the political feud and sinks us to the secrets of the royal family, i am hooked up in this drama from season 1 to season 2, this drama has been beautifully crafted and planned. The zombies are really look like real ones it has a sinister vibe that can get me goosebumps and the anticipation you can experience when zombies snarl and hiss. I did not handle the unfolding of secrets one after another, it has mesmerizing cinematography, this is the best zombie show i have watched so far. So overall this drama is good although each season only contains six episodes, but it is worth it and besides the next season will be aired in July and it makes me more excited.
3. Doctor Romantic
Doctor romantic is a story about Boo Yong-joo, a triple board-certified surgeon who used to work at Seoul's leading medical hospital. He vanished after a traumatic incident and takes the name Kim Sa-bu.
I am not quite a fan of medical-related dramas but this one is an exception. There are so many things i could say about the story, i don't even know where to start. At first, i did not want to watch this drama because i thought it was a romance-themed drama and romance is not my cup of tea but i ended up watching it because the trailer keep me interested but it turns out it is not all about romance at all, it shows us the true color of society, it made me think that some people will only prioritize you if you have a high social standing. This drama also shows the growth of the characters and the operating scene is so realistic. I hope the season 3 will be the combination of the characters from season 1 to season 2, overall, this is a great show.
2. Start-up
Seol Dal-mi is a young woman who desires to be a successful entrepreneur. Her family split up when she was young and grew up to be a dedicated woman. Her first love, Han Ji-pyeong, wrote her love letters under the name of Nam Do-san.
Maybe you are wondering why i decided to place this Kdrama on number 2 when i said that romance is not my cup of tea, well because this drama does not solely focus on romance in my opinion it also shows as the importance of family and gives us also a lesson that as long as you are alive you can achieve your dream if you wanted to. And the part that i loved about this drama is the story behind the word SandBox it was beautiful and inspiring. Also, we cannot deny the chemistry between Dal-mi and Do-san i admit it is good i got a little bit excited, overall this Kdrama is wow, it is worth watching, and you can learn many lessons by just watching this drama.
1. Vincenzo
Vincenzo is about an Italian mafia with the same name Vincenzo means to win or to conquer who travels back to his birth country, Korea, in search of gold. As he joins the fight against the evil corporation of Babel, his motives change and his foes shift.
Nothing more nothing less this is the best Kdrama i have watched so far. Vincenzo the character is a Jack of all trades, master of none, i binge-watch this Kdrama because it was so good no loopholes, no dull moments only pure entertainment, the cast played their role perfectly especially the antagonists. There are lots of emotions that you will feel or experience while watching this Kdrama in short, this Kdrama will toy your emotion. The part of this Kdrama that gives me heartache is where Vincenzo wanted to reconcile with his mother, and he is already willing to introduce himself to her that he is her long-lost son, but he is too late the devils already did the unforgivable things to her mother. By watching this i realized that you could mess with anyone, except for Vincenzo lol. I swear this series will not disappoint you i am glad that i decided to watch this Kdrama. Overall, this Kdrama is gold.
Kdramas are not just for entertainment it also helps some to relieved stress and brightens up the mood and to overcome loneliness. There are also lots of life lessons that you will learn just by watching Kdramas, lessons that you can apply to yourself
So, this is my TOP 5 Kdramas, what do you think about it? And what are your TOP 5 Kdramas? Keep in mind that this is only based on my opinion, and can you guess what is the first Kdrama that i watched? Clue: it's in my TOP 5. Comment down ciao😘
