Do you consider your neighbors in business?
We have our different ways of dealing with customers especially the neighbors. Some would give them special treats like price reduction or serves them personally when the need arises while some don't dare to reduce any price, considering the fact that business should not be influenced by relationship or pleasure.
Which one are you? You know where you belong 🤗.
Let me give you an instance that resulted to the idea behind this topic.
A neighbor that owns a Barbing salon bought Dstv to be installed in his shop, he was charged the installation fee at where he bought the DStv decoder which was N5,000 but he told them to remove the installation fee because he has someone (a neighbor) that would help him to install it. Yeah, he wanted to patronize our neighbor so he declined the option them of coming to fix it by themselves.
When he got me, he approached me to ask of our neighbor that installs DStv which I directed the guy to him. Two of them got talking and I didn't showed interest on their negotiation because I had no idea on how it's being done.
After the negotiation, the neighborh(DStv installer) refused to install it insisting that it must be N5,000 which the man was pleading for N4,000 or N4,500 but he bluntly refused.
The man really got upset on how a neighbor refused to install the DStv with that amount and not considering the fact that they're neighbors. He said he has the money to pay fully but the way he refused to consider that fact that they're neighbors got him upset. So he went outside to search for another installer which he later paid N4,000.

Now, who's is at wrong?
To me, the two of them didn't do well to some extent...
The DStv installer refused to bend which shows that he's the type that doesn't mix business with relationship, which is ideal to some extent. The man at the other side expected that everyone should be free with business and relationship.
To me, the DStv installer should have atleast accepted the N4,000 or N4,500 that the man begged with, considering that the difference from N5,000 wasn't that much.
We should learn how to build relationship in business instead of chasing customers away. I know too much of it will bring an abuse on relationship and business but it should be done with common sense.
For me, I do consider neighbors a lot especially on things that are service based. It's understandable when reduction of price is hard on sales of goods but when it comes to services, little adjustments should be made to harbor good relationship.
I like my customers to treat me good as well. I like patronizing that person that's considerate, that person that can sell something to me when I'm in short of cash...i don't mean buying on credit though🤗.

You can’t just see someone and start to treat that person in a bad manner. One shouldn’t judge someone from the outside without trying to get to know the person from the inside.🥰
