There are reasons to reduce the amount of time we spend in front of digital screens,yes digital screens can hurt our eyes and most of the time we don't notice it.
Like for example
1. Staring at a digital screen at night can stimulate the brain to think that its still day light which can make it difficult to fall asleep at night.
Yes the blue light from the screen when absorbed by our eyes at night is then sent to the brain and it's interpreted as day time because the sun has blue light which our eyes sees throughout the day that makes the brain know that it is day time but when the sun sets the brain stops to receive this blue light energy which makes our body to release the sleep hormone which makes us sleep.
2. Sitting in front of a digital display can cause digital eye strain, Digital eye strain can also be called computer vision syndrome is the feeling of discomfort or pain in the eyes,this condition can cause dry eyes ,headaches and blurry vision
3. Damaged retina
Studies shows that continues exposure to digital screens will cause over exposure to blue light which is released by digital screens which can cause retinal cell damage which can cause vision problems like age related macular degeneration, which is in fact blindness.
So please it is imperative that we reduce the time we spend in front of digital screens so we don't hurt our eyes.
