Hi. If this is your first time reading my articles, welcome and thank you for dropping by. Do say hi in the comment below. I'd love to get to know you.

This article is a result of reading a recent article from @Eylz2021 titled Four Season...Life or Weather? It had triggered my memory to what someone I respected said a long time ago...that hidden in nature are messages for us to discover.

This brief article is a recollection of the message from that individual.

Summary

I'm gonna doing something that's not normal in writing. Maybe it is but I haven't come across any. Unless of course, if you consider TL;DR as one. I'm going to start with the summary (aka Final Thoughts).

If we really think about it, why must there be four seasons? Yes, I know it's because of the earth orbiting around the sun, etc, etc, etc. But have you thought why must some trees shed their leaves in Autumn? Can't they go through Winter like other trees that do not need to do so? Hahaha...by now, you'd guessed biology is not my favorite subject. I observed life (bio) and I'd like to think that I'm logical. So, in a sense, I'm a biologic expert in my own right. Apologies, that's bad. You can laugh now. But the point is I'm no biology expert but I observe life/nature and contemplate on it...sometimes.

I'll take us through a tour of each of these seasons and the message I heard many, many, many moons ago.

The message that is "shared" by these four seasons over and over again since the dawn of time are the points in the Gospel. Gospel simply means Good News. What is this good news then?

Briefly, they are (taken from the New King James Version; emphasis added by this author):

  • 1 Corinthians 15:3: For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:4: and that He was buried,

  • 1 Corinthians 15:4: and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

  • 1 Corinthians 15:5: and He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve, After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once

Let's have a look at the above message through the lens of Nature - the four seasons.

Autumn (a.k.a. Fall)

Autumn is the time of the year when leaves fall. Nature begins to get ready for the upcoming winter. Animals begin to gather and store food. For many cultures, it is time to harvest. No more cultivating. It is finished.

It is a critical season to survive the next season. Failure to be prepared may lead to starvation and death for many living creatures.

The "dying process" of the deciduous trees gives a visual cue to how close winter is.

The message is clear. Death is at hand. 1 Corinthians 15:3.

Winter

The cold of winter has taken over. This season ushers in the coldest time of the year. Darkness has pushed out daylights for a longer share of time. Trees have shed it's last living leaves. It seems death has won.

It is time for nature to bury the dead. Snow covers the earth. Earth is buried. As far as the eye can see, everything is covered with snow. Nature has provided a proper burial. It's tranquil. It's beautiful. It looks pure. There is a feeling of peace, of hope. Something is brewing.

The message: 1 Corinthians 15:4

Spring

It is no longer cold. Things are warming up and looking brighter. Nature is springing into action. Daylight is pushing back. Rays of sunshine illuminating the earth. Birds start singing again. Plants grow anew. New leaves are clothing the naked deciduous trees of winter. The white of snow is giving way to the green of life.

New life is sprouting everywhere. Nature is celebrating new life.

We've just witnessed a miraculous transformation of nature. We've just witnessed a resurrection.

Summer

Daylight has finally been able to push back for control of the day. Who doesn't like summer? It's the most colorful time of the year and longer days are needed to showcase it.

Flowers are in full bloom. Many plants are showing off their Sunday best. We see that nature is full of life and a sight to behold.

The message: 1 Corinthians 15:4

Nature Speaks

I hope we all learn to read from nature. I do believe the mysteries of the universe are clearly written in nature. It's there for us to discover. We only need a fertile heart so that the seed of the message can take root and grow.

Thank you for reading.
