Be a participant of life, not an spectator

Most people (At least the ones that make up for the biggest part of the working population) are constantly following the same path of life and pushing into others the same advice: That you have to graduate at the top of your class so you can land in a good university and have a good job as a doctor, lawyer or engineer, then work from 9 t0 5 and save every penny in minucious things that don't really add up to a big gap in your bills until you're 65 years old, all so you can enjoy a fantasy of freedom when you have one foot in the grave and the other one in a banana peel. If you find this statement more an horror story than a way to live, Then this article is for you, in which I will talk about why these pursuits are meaningless at the end of the day and what you can do about It to make your life at least a little bit more enjoyable so you can face your impending death with less regrets when It comes. Let's begin:

What If I really want to live like that?:

This isn't wrong If It is what you really desire, though for the great majority of us, this sounds like a path to hell, as the principal holes in the statement previously described are to be found in two facts: The first, that tomorrow is never certain, and the second, that time for regret is not the same as time living. You can die from a disease, and accident or even be murdered before you can even get to an old age and this is certainly not something that is in your control; even If you get to the age of retirement, you will quickly found that It is too late for you to even enjoy not having to work anymore. Your body is too frail, your time remaining too short and your levels of energy infinitely decreased in comparison to the days of youth you exchanged for cash in that job you hated. I'm not condoning for not giving any effort in life and being a lazy prick that doesn't contribute to society, though what I'm really trying to say is that sometimes you should remind yourself that no matter what you do or what you get, you won't go with anything of that to your grave, so you should really take as a priorities getting the most out of life in the form of experiences and meaning.

Then what can I do about It?

When almost anyone in your surroundings is and will go through the same process It is easy to get discouraged and think that the only way to exist is to proceed with the same script or to get very lucky and break the cycle. However, this isn't true, though It will have to do more with the quality of the decisions you take and the strength to stick through the pain of difficult times than not doing anything. That's why I present you two realities about life and mortality that might make you appreciate giving a chance to those opportunities you consider on giving up:

Nothing is certain:

As I've pointed previously, today can be the last day of your life and your loved ones, and If that is true, then why you are so focused on the future of something you might not even get instead of giving all that attention to the people you love in your life, to the practices you really enjoy and give you real meaning or even improving yourself? Sometimes we need to be reminded that time is short and that we might not get other life, so we should always get the best out of It.

Suffer for yourself, not for others

What would you prefer. To suffer from Monday to Friday doing something you detest all so you can generate 20 times what you earn for someone else or to begin shifting the suffering to something that you at least love and are interested in so you can grow little by little and get the outcome produced by what you created all for yourself. Of course you will choose the second, though If It sounds so easy then why noone does It? Because It isn't. The pain of entrepeneurship might be greater than the results you get in the beginning and It might have no prestige, though It will surely be worth It, giving you the skills required to grow and the responsibility to push through all that life has to give you. That's why you should dedicate your efforts more to your progress first so you can get the best out of life.

I hope that this article could have provided you with some truths regarding a situation everyone goes through and why they feel so dissatisfied. I will be more than happy If you decide to take your own road and are willing to struggle so you can really live instead of being passive through all your lifespan. Thank you for your support and good luck!
