Align your mission with your purpose
First, Know one of the other
The feeling of being dragged down by life instead of the other way around is a common occurrence to any human being, though If you're not careful It can begin to slip into every part of your day. From the gut sensation you feel when you're procrastinating the things you should be doing to the one you have when you realize you are lonely after all this time, all these things can be attributed to a lot of factors, ones in your control and others that aren't. One of the first things you can do in order to begin to get closer to your goals is to actually identify what they really are, and not only from an objective perspective such as doing X to get Y, though to actually ask yourself a big question: Why am I doing It? That's why in this article we'll focus in the base of every resolution converted into action, the definition of your purpose, by talking about how you can align your missions with your overarching purpose so you can begin to live according to your calling in life. Let's begin:
What is my mission?
Well, let's begin with a simplified example. Let's say you're trying to produce the best song you can for everyone to hear, and that would be your mission for that particular project, so you begin to make plans around that, getting your schedule and the activities required for completion already outlined so you can give your full effort to the process of doing. However, one thing you should take into account is the difference between a mission for a particular situation and an overarching mission, as the other would have to do with your higher goals and aspirations, such as creating a Business in the field you love the most or becoming the best father you can for your kids.
What is my purpose?
A purpose goes hand to hand with any mission as It can be easily identified as the "Why?" to your "What?". Taking into account the same situation of producing the best song you can, the Why would be to make the day of any person listening at least a little bit better, all by giving the best product you can to the world. As you might have seen, a purpose is highly personal and It can only be decided by the person when they ask themselves sincerely "Why am I doing It?". Having something to remind yourself of your intentions can be a great way to make you reassess your decisions and to push yourself when working, all so you can better align what you do in the day with what you want to accomplish and get the best results out of everything.
As always, I hope that this article could have been of use to you, telling something that many of us might intuitively know, though we tend to forget pretty easily, falling in the same kind of destructive activities that led us to a place of desperation before, though don't panic, as having a clearly defined purpose will quickly get you back on track and working towards your objectives again. Thank you for your support and good luck!
