Why does the iron in the blood not rust?
The iron inside our bodies does not rust even though it is in a liquid medium
Water makes up 70% of the body's composition...
The reason is due to:
Iron ions are not free in the blood, as they are bound to nitrogen atoms from four sides
The hemoglobin in the blood acts as a vessel whose base is made of iron atoms
On inhalation, the vessel opens and its base is filled with oxygen atoms
Hemoglobin also acts as a guard that prevents any unknown stranger from entering
It allows oxygen to pass through without water...
And water is the complementary factor to complete the rusting process
Thus, the iron inside us does not rust.
Its so important that
