Stupidity and Bitcoin. Why would a merchant refuse to adopt BCH?

Who is stupid?

How many of you would be happy to pay directly with your BCH wallet at any store near your home?

I imagine many!

Well, every day, more merchants that accept Bitcoin Cash grows in number. You can check it yourself on the bitcoin map. However, we are still a long way from mass adoption.

I wonder why?

It's so obvious to me when evaluating the benefits that the use of BCH represents. And it is difficult for me to understand that there are people who recognize it but refuse to enter with the excuse that they are not yet ready.

Yesterday I took my old 2014 Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo smartphone to a repair shop near my residence to replace the screen. The repair cost is $ 25, and so I asked him to pay him with Bitcoin Cash and gave him a short explanation about the wonder that BCH is.

The merchant and technician listened to me attentively, but in the end, he preferred to charge in dollars or the equivalent of the highly devalued currency of my country.

The decision of the merchant made me think about it, as well as the question of the young assistant, who asked me, where she can get the Bitcoin Cash.

A pertinent question in a country with devalued wages and restrictions of all kinds. In this sense, who has access to the BCH? Based on the white paper of Bitcoin, it is intended for all people, poor and rich.

Upon returning home, I threw a rhetorical question to the community on noise.cash based on a presumption of ignorance of the money.

I did not expect answers to the question. The purpose of it was to serve as an ideal trigger for this article.

However, @zolabundance2 responded with keen insight by pointing out that BCH has to span the entire supply chain for it to be adopted without issue. In this sense, I agree with him, Bitcoin Cash must flow easily among buyers, sellers, and producers; that is, people need to access and use it without restrictions.

Now, back to the merchant's decision. I think it is stupid to refuse to receive a coin, which I count, and the volatility is better than the currency of your country. Now, back to the merchant's decision.

I think it is stupid to refuse to receive a coin, which I count, and the volatility is better than the currency of your country. Or maybe, do I do be stupid?

Let's talk about money

Money is the medium that billions of people use to exchange goods and services within society. Have you ever wondered how it operates? If you are like me, I bet you are not.

The money arose to be able to exchange the surpluses achieved by the specialization of production. With the passage of time, the concept of money, an artificial construction, was mutated from analog and material to digital and mathematical based on the convergence of science and technology.

I don't want to bore you with a master class on this, so I prepared a schematic chart for free interpretation of what I think of like the concept of money evolved.

I do not know how explicit is the chart that I raised. So I'll give you some interpretation clues. The colors red, yellow, and green orient like traffic lights. Therefore, green refers to an attribute that meets, and red does not meet. The gray color is the result of the combination of light and dark, a not so transparent state that depends on the system.

You will have noticed the box in the digital area, the heart of the conflict. That is gradually taking shape, and that will acquire a global dimension sooner rather than later.

You don't understand yet. Look at the chart again. Hahaha

Excuse me. I'm not laughing at you. On the contrary, I laugh to myself. I feel so stupid for not having convinced the technician who repaired my old but competent smartphone to accept my payment in Bitcoin Cash.

Maybe tomorrow, when I go to pick up the phone, I will show you the chart on the evolutionary comparison of money, and I paid you with fiat money that devalues quickly.

My only regret is paying commissions to exchanges for converting my precious BCH to devalued, unsupported money.

You will have noticed how stupid there is around money.

When I use the word stupidity, I am not doing it to offend the merchant. I think about the prudence of his decision. Who jumps into the ocean without knowing how to swim.

Also, perhaps he is waiting for which side will emerge victorious in the fight between cryptocurrencies and CBCDs.

Cryptos Vs CBDCs

At this point in the article, it would be stupid to deny that there are two money proposals to replace corruptible fiat money. Although, it would be much more stupid to choose the system that of continuity to the obsolete money.

I have a surprise for you; There are more stupid people in the world than you think. Even you and I don't escape from doing stupid things.

Source: Image by Jo Knopf on Pixabay

Don't look at me like that, well, don't feel like I'm trying to offend you.

Let me explain, please. I'll tell you about my first stupid with Bitcoin.

In May 2017, advised by a friend, I acquired the equivalent of $ 500 in Bitcoin when its price was around $ 1700. My friend effortlessly convinced me to send a newly acquired 0.3 BTC to a platform called Gladiacon that promised to double the amount in less than a month. We both lost capital in a Ponzi scheme.

A pain experience that taught me how stupid one can be when you become greedy or trusting in the expertise of others.

You laugh at me now. Be careful; if you think that this cannot happen to you.

In the mid-1970s, an economist named Carlo Cipolla published the results of an investigation on stupidity. In this, he pointed out that stupidity is more abundant than we think, that they have irrational traits and that they cause problems for others without taking advantage of themselves, reducing the well-being of all. The worst, there is no defense.

In this sense, I present a summary of his postulates that he called the laws of stupidity.

  • Underestimation of the amount of stupid around you.

  • The probability of being stupid is independent of any other characteristics you have.

  • A stupid person causes losses to another without making a profit for himself.

  • Not stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid people.

  • A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.

Now you ask yourself, what do you want to tell me; stupidity reigns in the crypto market?

You answer me, is it that BTC is better than BCH?

In my opinion, based on research, Bitcoin Cash is far superior to Bitcoin Core. But still, the narrative and the capital are placed in the latter.

The stupidity has nothing to do with the academic degrees of the promoters, nor with the technical expertise of the developers when they allow themselves to be seduced by greed or naivety.

The main enemy of cryptocurrencies, which is spearheaded by Bitcoin Cash and not Bitcoin Core, is in the legion of people behind the development of Central Bank Digital Currencies.

Merchants generally don't stop to think which coin is better. They are pragmatic. So, they don't care, as long as they get benefits and ease of use.

Maybe merchants are just functional fools whose goal is to make a profit without complication. And they follow the guidelines of the supposed innovations of the system. If the system collapses, they will fall with it.

Closing thoughts

In conclusion, a merchant who does not accept Bitcoin Cash is a functional stupid of the system. Remember one of the basic premises of Cipolla, stupid people abound around you.

Just take care that stupidity does not prevail in you.

The fundamental enemy of the libertarian, voluntarist, mutualist, and agorist option, just to unite common visions, is not born within cryptographic projects. But on the subtle side of the elites of the corruptible and perverse dominant system.

This side has cheated, infiltrated, and kidnapped, taking advantage of the abundance of stupidity in the world.

Do not believe their promises, in the end, they will end up reducing your well-being and freedoms.

You may have done stupid things in the past as I did, but that doesn't mean you will do them forever. Unless you're a masochist.

I invite you to work and support the correct option, even for the benefit of the abundant stupid, and minimize the effects of their behavior.

Put your grain of sand to achieve mass adoption of BCH.

Bitcoin Cash is part of the change option that the world needs.

This is full about adoption still brother .. Such as if you come in bangladesh where crypto is not adopted and even restricted to talk about crypto then thinking about pay via BCH is stupidity .. What we need or govt need is adoption of crypto first so that merchant will not feel afraid to take payment via crypto and the crypto can be BCH or something else because they will be run into a volatility which will some time give them profit and lose .. Also this will be great if the country adopted BCH badly and pay every thing via BCH and set up amount via BCH satoshi not via it Fiat amount ..so that merchant will not get lose when market will be volatile or something

Consumers need shops, and shops need customers. Onboard anybody. Everyone can dip their toes in, but depending more on Bitcoin Cash takes some time to think, months. Carry on with onboarding, as I do myself. If you can concentrate the onboarding with the supply chain, or concentrate on users or shops in an area, or on one type of business, better, as you said. But every new user counts, large or small

Yes, I agree with you. The process is gradual until it reaches the point of evolution and everyone wants to participate. In the meantime, I will be more patient and try to involve whoever I can. As you say, we are all important.

Not until we have all learned to cure our individual stupidity on the way we treat cryptocurrency and BCH in particular merchants won't understand anything we are preaching. Look at the Bitcoin cash community for example, how many people are ready to spend their BCH on a regular basis? Everyone wants to go to the moon and those merchants are here on human earth. You are doing your best trying to spend BCH the way it should be, but most of us aren't thinking that way at all.

You are quite right when you say that many here want to go to the Moon. Partly they do the right thing, but they forget what cryptocurrencies like BCH are for. Viewing it as a speculative investment will ultimately defeat the true purpose.

Greed is very stupid indeed.

We are far ahead of the curve. Most people have not yet grasped the changes that are coming with cryptocurrencies. Many are still mentally stuck in the twentieth century. And most of those who know about cryptocurrencies haven't really grasped it yet either. They see it as a speculative tool to get more fiat. BTC in particular performs this function, so many don't care that the coin is technically broken. But the mental twentieth century will come to an end and we will then be the first to find our way in the new reality.

When someone guide them properly they will definitely make their decision BCH is easy to understand but lot's of people's are unaware.

Yes, I agree with you. This is a situation I am usually in when it comes to adopting new technologies. Although, I think that those who prefer to wait for the technology to explode, do not always make a correct decision no matter how prudent they are.

Hi, friend. You are very right about this. I believe that sooner rather than later they will put aside their fears and adopt this amazing technology.
