Their Little Adventure

“Will you guys really go to my place? Will your parents allow?", Shuvo shouted out of excitement and surprise.

“Why not? Don’t worry about our parents. You know how independent we are. We have gone to each other’s place a lot of time. We hang out together. So, why not take us to your place?”, Shawn replied.

“Absolutely. I and Shawn live in the same building and it won’t take much to convince both of our parents. And we all know how cool Sagor’s mom is. Won’t be a problem”, Tomal added.

But still muttered that they are not so much affluent at all. They won’t be able to offer us that much.

Sagor was listening quietly. Now he opened his mouth. He said, “So you think that’s the basis of our friendship?” Shuvo replied that that was not but he still hesitated. Finally, they decided that we are going to his place. But who knows that was waiting for them.

Shuvo,Sagor,Tomal, Sagor were friends in 4th grade. Yes, they are kids. But in a while they became very good friends. After school they used to hang out as they had coaching after 1 hour. Sharing lunch, going for a walk or hanging out at someone’s house was their daily stuff. Shuvo’s home was very far. He lived in a village and it would take almost an hour by bus to reach the school from his home. Specially, Sagor’s and his mom was very cool. She often used to do prank on them. So, it was a sudden plan but they all agreed to visit his home and family this time for sure.

Like they thought, convincing parents at home wasn’t so hard as their parents knew all very well. On the weekend, Shuvo came to take them. The journey wasn’t hard as there was direct bus. They almost reached Shuvo’s home at 10 am. They knew that Shuvo’s dad died when he was only a child. He only had mom and his two dogs at home.

Reaching there, we saw the dogs. One was 'Janu' and other was 'Raja'. Janu was friendly and they cuddled with her. But Raja was rather afraid of human. May be it had a rough past story.

Those three entered in the room, met with Shuvo’s mother and they ate some snack. Then they set out to explore the area. Specially, they heard that Shuvo worked on their field with his cousins when he got any vacation.

Shuvo said, “We need to cross a muddy place but don't worry, not much mud. Generally, it is kind a small Haor and during summer we use the main body of it for irrigation purpose. Generally there should be water but people blocked it to accumulate water. So, there’s mud now.” We all said that we had no problem what so ever. But they wouldn't have agreed if they knew what was coming next. Shuvo crossed the place first and shawn followed him. Tomal also easily crossed. But after crossing, when he looked at his leg, there was 3 blood sucking leech on his right leg.

It was that moment that tomal knew he fucked up. In a second, his face turned blue. He started shouting badly and start to kick and tried to shake it off. Shuvo rushed to Tomal, tried to calm him down and tried to grab them and pull them as soon as possible and then threw those in another direction. Tomal was still blue but Shuvo told him it’s common. There’s nothing to worry, they didn’t get time to suck any blood. But another person was more afraid than Tomal. Sagor as he still didn’t cross. He told them that he could not do it and he wanted to go home. Anyway, they made him cross the muddy place. This face still makes them laugh.

They saw the paddy field, but more interestingly, their eyes caught another place. It was a forest. Shuvo said, whenever went there but people say there are some rare animals like yak and some animals like monkey and deer are seen. The forest is a medium sized forest and he wanted to go but he was alone and couldn’t go. Then they fixed that they would give a little tour there and try their luck if they could see a deer or monkey.

It took 30 minutes for them to reach the entrance of the forest. They looked behind and entered the forest. They started walking. Big trees around the forest. The forest was calm but as soon as they entered, they heard some noises on the trees and some birds flew away. After going a bit deep, they saw some bottles and weed on the ground. Shuvo said that his mom told him bad people used to there at night and did bad things. They were many raped victims and corpses found some years ago. Still many bad people went there. They needed to get out of there before the sun started to set at any cost.

“There, there, I see one”, Sagor shouted. They all found there was two monkeys on the branches of the tree. They ran towards the tree. Seeing them, thy monkey started to ran away. They followed him but couldn’t follow him.

Their plan was to go back before the lunch. So they started heading back.

Shawn asked, “Does anyone know from which direction we entered the forest?” The other three pointed at three different directions. Finally, they understood they were so excited that didn’t even care or mark they way from where they came in and now they are lost. Desperation. What now??

Shuvo said, “We have walked around 50 minutes. We have came a long way. It won’t be possible to go and check these 3 directions and who knows how many times did we turn. And it would be unwise to split as we are still kids and we need to stay together. We have to come to a single decision.” Finally, they all chose a way.

Walking and walking. All knew they were already hungry and thirsty. But nobody was saying anything. All had one fear and question in mind. What would happen if they were trapped in this forest today? No fire, no food, no water. And if they couldn’t reach home today, it would become a police case.

“We are saved. Yes, yes!!” Shuvo shouted and started running. They asked shuvo what happened but he was running and they followed him. Finally a red big and thick pipe became visible to them. They all went to the pipe. But still they couldn’t understand how this pipe could save them.

Shuvo explained that it was a sad pipe and that means there’s a river nearby. The pipe has and end and they could follow the pipe and easily find the river bank. Then the locals could help them and they could return home.

Decent plan. Also they had a doubt about the pipe but it’s their best possible chance to reach home. So, they got on the pipe and started walking on it.

Meanwhile Sagor said, “What’s done can’t be undone. Why not we enjoy our little adventure? Let’s sing and move. We can take rest and eat some fruits. It’s summer and we can surely find fruits. Don’t worry. We have always made it and we will also make it this time.” It was necessary. Suddenly the gloomy faces light u and they started singing. In the excitement, they actually forgot how hungry and thirsty they had become. After a while, they found a java apple tree. It was a relieve for them as java apple is juicy. They all threw sticks and small broke brunches and got some of fruits.

After eating, they also played a bit. And then again started their little journey. They couldn’t waste much time. The most challenging time was yet to come.

They found a big pit and the pipe went over it. So, they had to cross the by walking over the pit. The pit was not to deep but the most dangerous thing was there was bushes with thorny plant. If anyone fell down, they could be injured. But those kids were at least acrobatic which helped them to cross the pit without any harm.

Finally, after 15 minutes, they found the shore. There was a field of sand. They found a house beside the field. The generous owner let them to have water from their trap.

Shuvo knew where they ended up and how to reach home. They took a ‘Rickshaw” and quickly went to his home. It was almost 4.30 and his mother was worries as they didn’t return for lunch. Anyway, they looked at each other, laughed and said that they were playing.

Finally it was the time for departure. We bade goodbye to his mom and went to the bus station. They all went through a lot and they told shuvo to rest for today. The bus came in a while and they hugged ach other and went on the bus.

But before getting on the bus, they decided that we would keep it a secret from their family. Though they had fun telling the story to their classmates later.

Let me tell you a bit secret🤫🤫.

Here, Tomal=Jihan😅. It's my real story and 1st adventure. But like always I am gonna say, don't tell my mom🤫🤫.

It's a big story but it's actually from my life. We did got lost and had a little adventure. But how we got lost, that I don't remember. So made up the monkey thing 😅. Anyway, thanks for reading and don't forget to leave a review😊.
