Good afternoon guys. Happy Sunday to you and welcome to a new week. May God's favor go with you this week.
I started to write about giving yesterday. I hope you read that but if you didn't here's is the link: https://read.cash/@Jerrysavage00/why-give-b15aeb0d
Giving as I said yesterday is one of the ways to achieve inner happiness.
I'll be talking on giving using the Bible as my reference and foundation.
‘All things come from You, and of Your own we have given You.’ - This is found in 1 Chronicles 29:14 of the bible. This place is acknowledging that all things come from God, that He's the provider of all things and the source of all things that is and will ever be. The second part of that verse is talking of how we give out what he has given us back to Him. It is a form of thanking Him and submitting to His supremacy over anything we have.
Generous people are people that are always comfortable with anything that concerns money, and they even get more comfortable when it comes to giving it out.
On the other hand, a self-centred person is always obsessed with trying to hoard whatever they have in their possession, and even how to get more. Out of his thirty-eight parables of Jesus, sixteen of them can be used in explaining how to handle money and possessions even though that was not the main meaning of those parables. In the four books of the bible called the Gospels, it is found that one out of every ten verses is related with issues of money.
These are amazing sponsors. Please check them out🙏
According to statistics from bible scholars and theologians, the Bible has five hundred verses that talk on prayer, and approximately the same five hundred talking on faith, then over two thousand verses talking on money and possessions. What is God trying to communicate to you ? It’s that: everything you will ever have comes from God. This is to say that you’re not the owner, but that you're just a custodian or keeper of all He has given you. So when He inspires or speaks to you to give someone, you should not start to argue or turn deaf ears to Him, instead you just simply obey.
God was the first to model an example of giving to the whole world by giving us His only begotten son, in order for the plan of redemption to be fulfilled. When David wanted to build the temple for God, God told him not to because of the number of wars he fought, nevertheless he still provide all the materials needed to build the temple, ster that David prayed to God and this was His prayer:
‘Both riches and honour come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, and of Your own we have given You’ ( 1 Chronicles 29: 12-14 NKJV).
Conclusions:
Anytime you give to God, you are simply giving back to God who gave you all things.
Give thanks for everything and share your blessings, and do so wholeheartedly :)
