Fine... Let's tone it down...

Good news! Yes, we can plea with God. From the OLD to the NEW… We can very well plea with God. He hears our prayers… UNFORTUNATELY we don’t know how to pray. That is actually the problem, how to pray? Abraham did plea for SODOM and God actually played along, unfortunately only about 5 people who heed the call. Thus, destruction of Sodom was truly eminent.

Abraham Pleads for Sodom

Genesis 18:16-33

Abraham begins asking for the city to be spared, if there are but 50 righteous who are in it. He boldly prays, “Far be it from thee to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be it from Thee! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

Taking Abraham will likely be “a good sample but we are just ordinary people, not a man of God. Lest, the chosen one!”. Fine. Then let’s take the “THE PARABLE OF THE PERSISTENT WIDOW” to its text that we may have a very good sample that we all can relate.

The Parable of the Persistent Widow (I’m not going to put all in here, just the highlights)

Luke 18:1-8

4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”

6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.

This is how the WIDOW made it work for her! Justice with due persistence. It is done with FAITH, how else would she get justice if not relentlessly pursuing? Until her cries were heard… This is how we should pattern our prayers… persistently! For God to hear our cries, that’s for sure. Like I have mentioned, we really have to do it right for it to be effective. It should be persistent, unceasing… and of course, nothing evil!!! Eiyt!

Oh! We don’t need a very elaborated prayer. Simply pray what we need, persistently… and He will hear. He has ways to spoil His believers. Yes, he does… but that is with a condition… Persistent prayers, though not all the time – but most of the time. That’s why, we can plea with God through our prayers.

 Matthew 7:11

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Well, the Scripture really contains everything we need to know how to be saved. All we have to do is really open it, read it and let the Spirit work its magic on you. God bless..

What a blessing you are to me sis! I don't know you so much nor have I seen you but at the first time I saw your post I am like attached to you; yes, God does listen to those who pray persistently. genuine prayers and not those repeated ones. I did this when I was so down and lonely in life and God did hear me.

Glory be to God, gosh, daghan kaayu ko ug lapses sa Ginoo,
