Its wasn’t a long time ago, people were free to roam around, that was before the pandemic. We enjoy the 24 hour ride and travel to places as long as we can afford to pay for it. Party, everyday like tomorrow never comes.  We had our share.

Travel

For the 1st time we travelled towards the outskirts of the city. It was fun and exciting considering that it was our 1st without anyone else to dictate where we go, what to do and most importantly, we were together and having fun. We were exploring a lot of first during those time. We were happy.

We visited the farthest end of the island, the northern part, Bantayan Island. This was an adventure with my highschool friends. We went there for an over-the-weekend get-together. And true as it was, yes, it was nice. The beaches were cool and the place was great again after being levelled to the ground since Yolanda has hit the place. Causing everyone sorrow and pain, their livelihood blown away by the gusting winds, -their years of hard work turned into dust overnight. But it was then, they had regained their vitality ever since and work harder for a brighter future. The streets were once again full of people and the inns were once again fully booked as summer we intense and visitors abounds. Restaurant happily regained their vitality after suffering the losses. While us, at awe, we didn’t expect for the small island to be this lively. The humidity increases as the day progress and wind blows coldly at night. We decided to have dinner at some place. The crowd was really relentless active. Right after, we went back to the villa and circled around to make a little gathering. Talking about a lot of what had happened to our lives. Many married, some separated and there were singles, despite of course the years we spent looking for the better future. We toasted drinks celebrating those as we were reminiscing those times. The sadness and happiness in life we all have to endure, carving it into our hearts, adding moments of vigor. Everybody missed our youths but happy to proceed with living ahead. Talked about the children we bore and the singles that were carried on were simply accepted. As for the separated, these were simply facts in life. We needed not linger to those memories and instead we all got to share valuable lessons in life that night and it was fun. I broke the vitality as my boys wanted to go to sleep already. No one dared to break the night because everyone was afraid to be the subject and the object of the gossip for those who were left behind. And since I was the one who broke it, they all went confident to leave right after me. Oh, people afraid of the ridicule of leaving.

Morning has broken!

It is indeed a new experience for me and the boys and we truly look forward to advancing. However, Covid came and all the activities are now suspended. And now, its almost back to normal however, restrictions are really now the backbone of the society’s safety. It is as before but with some restrictions, as they said it “the new normal” with masks and continued social distancing. Well, with continued vigilance and obedience, it will not be long people will naturally go back and experience the vitality we used to have. And eventually, turn this event around. Its not bad after all, we get to rest from social gatherings and build up a good system within our family. Develop bonding that we never have experienced before. Hopefully, we can look forward to learn the lessons and apply vigilance, as it is our future at stake. Remember, this is our lives, we own it and we protect it. The future is on our hands, it really depends on how we take the challenge and face. Thank u and God bless.

Covid-19 was truly a once in a life time event. It put a pause to everything. If there's ever an argument in favor of the existence of a remote to life and time, I think that time should be brought up...
