Compassion
“Only the development of compassion and understanding for others can bring us the tranquility and happiness we all seek.”
Dalai Lama
Do you think you are a compassionate person? If you are not sure, check this out and you will have the answer.
Signs that indicate compassion
You know how to actively listen to others
Some people only listen to themselves and cannot listen to others. They will never hear our voice because they will be too busy with their thoughts and desire to talk about themselves. On the other hand, some people listen carefully to others and respect other people's words, and don't let them get lost without an answer or opinion.
You are present and mindful
In addition to actively listening to others, you are present. Your mind is focused on what someone is telling you and not on your thoughts. You don't hold your phone in your hand while someone is telling you something, even if you have developed multitasking.
You can find something in common with others
You can recognize things in common with other people. Similar situations, problems, accidents often happen to people. Some people will connect with people with whom they have things in common, and some will not even notice. If you notice, it means you are focused on others, you think about them and your compassion is present.
You value yourself
You are aware of your qualities. If we do not know how to appreciate ourselves, we will not be able to appreciate others. Only self-aware people can support others. Those who are not for themselves are not for others either. We cannot be compassionate with others if we are not with ourselves.
You forgive easily
You get rid of negativity because you don't need it for the peaceful life you aspire to. You are aware that we are all wrong sometimes and you will easily forgive and move on. You think there is a reason that can be an adequate explanation for everything that is happening.
You are not a materialist
You strive for spiritual values. Everything that is material is consumed and true values last forever. You will be happy to help others, not expecting anything in return.
You share your knowledge
You do not keep your knowledge to yourself but you are happy if you share it with others. You cannot be silent if you know something that can help others.
You respect other people's opinions
You look forward to a variety of opinions. You don't believe you are always right. Your open mind accepts criticism and different views.
You are emotionally intelligent
You feel others. Before you say something, you think about whether there is a chance that your words will make others feel uncomfortable, and in that case, you stop there. You are aware of your emotions, but also other people's emotions.

I have always thought that we should all exercise compassion. It is a great virtue. It happens all the time, even with friends I really appreciate. You're talking to them and they're on their cell phones, it's very disrespectful. I try not to do it, I confess it's not that easy. Most people fail in some of those things you talk about, but I'm sure we can work on those areas where we are selfish or uncompassionate. A big hug my friend @Jelena
