I have watched a film just a week ago and the title caught my attention. "Poisoned Love: The Stacey Castor Story". It got me when I look over its info showing about Stacey killing his husbands by poisoning them.
This film is based on a true story and I've always been a fan of biographical films.
But this time, I will not make a movie summary instead I will write the life story of Stacey Castor.
General Profile:
Stacey Ruth Castor was born on July 24, 1967.
She was an American convicted murderer from New York. She was found guilty in 2009, for poisoning her second husband David Castor with antifreeze in 2005 and attempting to murder her eldest daughter Ashley Wallace with crushed pills mixed with orange juice and vodka in 2007. As a result, she was also suspected of murdering his first husband Michael Wallace, in 2000.
The story made a huge impact on the public when she was named "The Black Widow" because she intended to kill her husbands for life insurances.
: Her life with Michael Wallace
They met in 1985 and became really good friends. Soon, they got engaged and got married in 1988. They also had their first daughter Ashley in the same year. Three years later, they were blessed with another daughter named Bree.
The marriage went through all kinds of challenges as both of them were rumored of having affairs with another man and woman. Michael was very close to her second daughter Bree and showed favoritism among the girls so Stacey made up for Ashley to be her best friend.
In 1999, Michael became feeling ill. His cough never gets well and he showed drastic changes to his body. Little did they know that Stacey is slowly killing his husband by putting poison on his food or coffee.
Michael was told to seek professional help but died before he was able to do so in the early 2000s.
The doctor told the family that Michael died of a heart attack. However, Michael's sister refused to believe and requested an autopsy but Stacey insisted to just believe what the doctor said.
: Her life with David Castor
In 2003, Stacey got married again to David Castor. David was the owner of an air conditioning installation and repair company, while Stacey works for him as his office manager.
Ashley didn't like her mother to marry again but was convinced by her younger sister to let her mother be happy.
Ashley didn't have a cool relationship with her stepfather. They do not meet halfway to compromise on things. David was too controlling and Ashley was too rebellious. As a result, David and Stacey always end up with heated arguments.
One afternoon in August 2005, Stacey called the local sheriff's office informing her husband locked himself in, and unresponsive in their bedroom all day after an argument they had the day before.
The authorities asked the possible reasons for doing it Stacey and said that he became depressed because of his father's death. Hours passed, police kicked the door open and found David Castor lying dead on the bed.
They saw a container of antifreeze and a half-full glass of bright green liquid placed near his body. The coroner told the authorities that the case is suicide through a self,-administered overdose of antifreeze. However, police found Stacey's fingerprints on the antifreeze glass and located a turkey baster that David Castor had DNA.
This resulted in speculation of Stacey murdering his husband. The police believed that Stacey may have been force-feeding David once he became too physically weak.
The investigation started and they found out that Stacey never showed a sign of remorse by visiting her husbands' grave. Her behavior is unusual for a widow coping up with the situation.
To strengthen the investigation, the only way to prove that Stacey is responsible for Michael's death is to do an autopsy. So they exhumed Michael's body and showed from a toxicology screening that he died due to an overdose of antifreeze poisoning.
: Attempted Murder
When Stacey learned that the police have collected traces of the deaths, she panicked and devised a plan to set up Ashley for the murders. So then, Ashley was called to answer few questions regarding the deaths of his father and stepfather. She was informed that the cause of deaths was not heart attack and suicide instead, they had been poisoned.
Ashley confronted her mother but her mother gave her an assurance that everything is going to be okay. They just needed to relax since it has been so stressful for them lately. They shared a drink.
The next day, Ashley drink together again with Stacey to celebrate her 18th birthday. The next day, Ashley was found comatose on her bed by her younger sister. They called 911 when Bree noticed a suicide note beside the bed. It appeared to be Ashley's "murder confession" in which she "admits" to be responsible for the death of her father and stepfather.
The tests revealed that antifreeze was also found in Ashley's body and she would have died if they came to the hospital later. When Ashley woke up, the suspicious police interrogated her and asked about the suicide note. However, the last thing she only remembered was she had a couple of drinks with her mother and did not know about the note.

Reminds me of Liam Neeson's movie Taken 2 I think.. Good story plot but killing for insurance policy is just horrible! Have you seen 'while you were sleeping' that guy who killed his brother for insurance money too? Crazy!
