The O.J Simpson murder case has been the talk of the country, and was even labeled as "The Trial of the Century". It brought so much attention to both local and public. Reports were given every now and then as the trials went but no one suffered its effects more than Sydney and Justin. Sydney was only 8, and Justin was only 5 years old when their mom was killed. What makes it more tragic was that they were sleeping when the murder happened.
It is definitely an unfortunate and traumatic moment for Sydney and Justin to witness how their mom lying on the floor in a fetal position with a pool of blood.
The death of their mom even put them more in trouble when they see how the public accused their father of the murderer. The accusations of felony and slander hit hard to their lives.
It must have been a tough childhood they have. Seeing them growing up with such emotional and psychological abuse is just too much.
: So how are they doing now?
- Family Background
Sydney was born on October 17, 1985. She's turning 36 this year 2021.
Justin was born on August 6, 1988. So he's turning 33 this year 2021.
Sydney and Justin actually have half-siblings.
They are Jason, Arnelle, and Aaren.
Arnelle is the eldest among the OJ Simpson children. She is the closest to her dad. They share the same interests and they get along well. That is according to a former corrections officer named Jeffrey Felix, at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada where OJ Simpson was housed. They are close to each other. In fact, Arnelle and her younger brother Jason stood by her dad during his trial in 1995.
O.J has another child to his first wife, Marguerite Whitley in 1977. Her name is Aaren. However, Aaren died almost a month before her 2nd birthday due to respiratory failure. Aaren was playing alongside the swimming pool when she was left unattended. The paramedics found Aaren unresponsive and could no longer be revived.
Going back to Sydney and Justin's,
They moved to Florida in 2000 with a relative and they were able to refrain themselves from the chaotic lives. Even then, their father was accused again numerous times of committing further crimes. After so, OJ Simpson was eventually sent behind bars at Nevada's Lovelock Correctional Center in 2008. He was incarcerated for a long time and finally was granted for a parole on July 20, 2017. With a clean record during his parole, he was finally released in prison in October, 3 months after.
However, by the time he had been released, OJ Simpson's children: Sydney and Justin are already grown-ups having careers and lives of their own.
: For Sydney
Sydney worked hard for her school and attended to Boston University where she graduated a degree of Bachelor in Arts in Sociology from the school's department College of Arts and Sciences in May 2010.
After her graduation, she cherished her time in Atlanta before she decides to move to St. Petersburg, where she purchased a house and lot in August 2015. In 2017, by then she was 33, she established her own business named Simpsy LLC, which took management of the other three properties she owns in the area.
The business rose to fame within the state and there was an article in the New York Post that paired Sydney to the St. Petersburg City Council candidate Robert Blackmon. The article said that they were in a relationship then, Blackmon announced that Sydney is a very private person and who's been supporting him selflessly. He also added that he wouldn't speak on behalf of the Simpsons but he was certain that the Simpsons are a great family and friends to him.
He added, "She's a close friend of mine but we are not dating".
: For Justin
As for Justin, a few months before his 31st birthday, he also settled himself in the same city as his sister, St. Petersburg. From then, he's following his sister into the real estate business as well.
He served as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Homes. Then eventually worked as a licensed realtor with DHM Real Estate.
Sydney kept a private life but with Justin, he keeps himself active on social media, both on Twitter and Facebook. He took most of his time dedicated to his business through the FB page and it's evident that his clients like him for the ratings they give.
: Reunion with their father OJ Simpson
OJ Simpson has to check in with a parole officer first as a protocol during his parole and so, he has made a couple of short trips to Florida before seeing them. He was then caught by lots of paparazzi during a visit for Thanksgiving in November 2018.
As per the interview, O.J has been doing fine making time to rekindle the relationship he lost for his children for a long time.
There are other people who are still convinced that he was the man behind that heinous crime 25 years ago, regardless of being acquitted on trial, he explains to the media that he and his children do not limit their lives in the past. Instead, they are looking forward to making new memories together.
"I am very happy that I was given the chance to move one and just focus on the present. 25 years have been tough for me. I received a lot of criticisms but I admit that I have made a lot of mistakes, I exceeded my limitations, I took the responsibility for the things I have done by living under a cell. So I guess, it's time to leave the bad experiences and start fresh".
As for now, OJ Simpson together with his Children Sydney Brooke and Justin were on their happy family status. They were not living together but they make sure that they can spend time with each other.
